Prophetic Word – In the Course of Time

prophetic word for december 2022 in the course of time

This Prophetic Word is titled In the Course of Time.  This is for the month of December 2022 or any other Christimas time season when you feel like you need this.

Who is this word for? Those who are waiting for what God has promised them.  Those who are in their season of waiting.

5 Words – In. The. Course. Of. Time.  Otherwise known as, some time later.

The Lord had me writing this prophetic word and studying how Joseph stepped into his promise and also how king David stepped into his.  Because I am sure you’ve had moments when you wonder how it is going to happen.  You already know it is going to happen you just don’t know how or when.  I’ve read these bible stories before many times; however, this time I happened upon something I have NEVER heard anyone say or preach on before and I was a little taken aback.  I want to share this with you.

Let me start off by saying this time of year is very difficult for many that are waiting for what the Lord has promised.  It’s the end of the year and you believe that what you were promised is probably going to happen before the year ends.  Sometimes it happens but sometimes it doesn’t.

I’ve found the bigger the promise or blessing, the longer the wait.  We don’t like to think that the wait will be years because when God said it, it felt like it as just months away.  But here you are, years later and you are still out looking over the horizon for this thing to happen.

I find that the enemy uses this at the end of the year to throw people into a state of despondency, depression, hopelessness among many other negative emotions.  I’m letting you know this now so that you will begin to untangle yourself from those cords that the enemy will use to steal your joy over this Christmas season.

God wants you to enjoy this Christmas time!

The purpose of this post is to give you some perspective so that you will be able to move on with your life, in peace, without anxiety or feeling like you have somehow done something wrong…because you haven’t.

If your promise doesn’t show up before 2023, I want this to be one of the best Christmases you’ve had because you were in the best mental headspace you’ve been in for the longest time.  That is my prayer for you.

Know that all of us are waiting for something.  It’s a part of being human and being alive. As a child you wait with anticipation for the next birthday and Christmas. You wait to get the call for your very first job.  You wait to get your first apartment.  You wait to get married.  You wait to have a baby.  You wait for that perfect home. You wait to get your first contract signed for your business.  You wait for your business to be a huge success. You wait for your family members and friends to be saved. There’s always something that we are waiting on.  Nobody is exempt from this. It’s like from the day we are born we are waiting for something and then here we are waiting for the return of Jesus.  This is life. We go from one state of waiting to the next. It is unending.

Have you ever baked a turkey or just a really large chicken?  It takes time, doesn’t it?  The packaging usually tells you how long before you need to check on it which is awesome because you don’t have to sit there looking through the glass watching it cook!

Can you imagine if you had to sit there and watch a turkey cook because you had no idea it won’t be ready for another 3.5 hours?  That would be one of the most grueling experiences ever!  Yet, this is how some of us wait for our promise.  Sit there watching it as if the turkey (your promise) is going to grow legs and run away if you don’t watch it. No, it’s not going anywhere!!  Relax.

It will be ready, when it is ready.  In the course of time.

It’s not coming out of that oven any sooner even if you wish it did!  And when it gets down to the last 15 minutes that thing seems to take forever.

**Side note – did you hear about the lady that’s suing Kraft because the Velveeta Mac & Cheese didn’t cook in the 3.5 minutes that the package said it should? She had to put it back in to finish the process.  She said they lied to her because she’s never had it cooked in the time stated on the packaging.  Now she wants $5 million dollars for the extra minute that she has to put it back in the microwave.  You can’t make these stories up.  I guess it’s easier to blame someone else for the wait instead of saying maybe my microwave processes things a little slower than others.  Maybe I just need more time.**

The Lord drew my attention to 2 stories in the bible of people waiting to demonstrate what goes on during this time.

First, Joseph and you know the story, so I won’t go into all the details of that.  You can read it in Genesis 37 – 41.  Joseph received His promise from God.  I don’t see any sign that he doubted what God said so I know he was standing in faith to the very end.

I imagine myself as Joseph waiting for what God said.  I imagine what it would be like to go through the most horrendous life waiting for it but still I believed.  God gave no timeframe so I would imagine over the years it could’ve been at moments like sitting outside the oven looking in wondering when that turkey would be ready.  But he continues living his life, he goes through more horrendous things and now he’s in jail.  I imagine he’s wondering how he’s going to get out of jail and now he sees his opportunity, the cupbearer of the pharaoh.  So, he goes about helping God get him into position.  All of us do this, we think that we need to do this, or we need to do that, to make it happen.  When the truth is, unless God himself tells you to do something, you really need to relax.  God does not need your help.

Joseph tells the cupbearer to help him when he gets out of prison…

Genesis 40:14-15

14 “But when all goes well with you, remember me and show me kindness; mention me to Pharaoh and get me out of this prison. 15 I was forcibly carried off from the land of the Hebrews, and even here I have done nothing to deserve being put in a dungeon.”

He’s making his plight.  And I’m sure he was gearing up to walk out of that prison within a week after the cupbearer was released. Did that happen?  No, the cupbearer forgot about him.

Just imagine if it was you, you talk to the cupbearer and the cupbearer gets released in June. I’m sure you are excited pretty sure that this Christmas!!!  Or should I say Hannukah!  You were going to be out, a FREE man!  Finally!  But, NOTHING HAPPENED.  You roll into the next year, and AGAIN.  Bobkes! (that’s Yiddish for Nothing)

It had to be very disheartening.  Genesis 41:1 says “when 2 full years had passed” aka… In the course of time.

2 years later God got him out of there.  He didn’t get himself out.  The cupbearer didn’t get him out.  No, God got him out of there.

You know, a lot of times when we think we are ready, we are not ready.  There is still work to be done and only God knows what it is.  You don’t need to sit there and over analyze yourself.  I think if you just relax….that is the word, RELAX, and go about doing what you need to do God will start to reveal the things to you that He’s working on.

Instead of watching that turkey don’t you have dishes to wash?  Don’t you have other side dishes to prepare to go with the turkey?  Don’t you need to take a shower and get yourself dressed?  Yes!  What you are going to find is that there are things for you to do and things need to be set in order and that is why you need to wait.  You are not ready even if you feel like you are. Move from in front of the oven and go and find something to do with your time.  Or as my grandmother would often say to me “go make yourself useful instead of sitting around”.

Psalm 84:11

For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.”

He promised you and He will not withhold it from you when you are ready for it.  What He won’t do is give a Lamborghini to a someone with a maturity level of a 2-year-old.  If you’re not ready your ABBA Father is going to hold that thing until you are.  Otherwise, you will ruin that blessing.

Joseph was standing in front of the pharaoh when he needed to be there.  It wasn’t a minute late. Regardless of what he went through he was not delayed, it was all God’s timing.  I’m pretty sure when he got that dream, he didn’t know that it would be 17 years later.  I’m pretty sure he had no idea it was going to be in Egypt, he probably thought he was still going to be with his family.  But like with most of the promises of God, they sometimes don’t look exactly like you thought, and they don’t show up when you think they will, and you never know how God is going to do it.

He does it like this so that no one else can get the glory for it but HIM.

The Lord told me to look at how David’s ascension to the throne happened and this is where I came across this thing I never saw before.

We all know what he was anointed by the prophet Samuel, Read 1 Samuel 16:1-13

13 “So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon David. Samuel then went to Ramah.”

And this is when David received his promise that he would be king.  I don’t remember seeing where he ever doubted that would happen.  He knew it was coming but that didn’t stop him from having horrendous things happen to him.  He had a few opportunities present themselves to him where he could’ve killed Saul and helped himself into the position, but he knew enough that GOD needed to be the one to do it.  I have to say that this was one area where David was strong, he never helped God move him into the position faster than he needed to be there.  He had a healthy view of who he was as a man.  He was well aware of his failures and his shortcomings.

Remember, there was Judah and Israel where he was to be made king.  It wasn’t one area it was two, first how he became king over Judah?  When he found out that Saul died, he didn’t get presumptuous and immediately ride into the territory to take over.  No.  He submitted himself to the Lord and waited until God said it was OK for him to go there…,

2 Samuel 2:1-7 NIV

In the course of time, David inquired of the Lord. “Shall I go up to one of the towns of Judah?” he asked.

The Lord said, “Go up.”

David asked, “Where shall I go?”

“To Hebron,” the Lord answered.

So David went up there with his two wives, Ahinoam of Jezreel and Abigail, the widow of Nabal of Carmel. David also took the men who were with him, each with his family, and they settled in Hebron and its towns. Then the men of Judah came to Hebron, and there they anointed David king over the tribe of Judah.

When David was told that it was the men from Jabesh Gilead who had buried Saul, he sent messengers to them to say to them, “The Lord bless you for showing this kindness to Saul your master by burying him. May the Lord now show you kindness and faithfulness, and I too will show you the same favor because you have done this. Now then, be strong and brave, for Saul your master is dead, and the people of Judah have anointed me king over them.”

First, in the course of time. God’s timing.

Here was the new revelation, it says the men of Judah anointed David to be king.  That means he was anointed 2 times!  Once by Samuel when the promise was given and then again right before he stepped into his position as king of Judah.  Did you know he was anointed 2 times?  I didn’t know that.

A double anointing.  This reminds me of the Gold Wave prophetic word where there were people putting their hands into the wave a second time to be coated with gold.  And the Lord did say that there was a learning curve between each wave.  Do you remember that?  This is that!  Some of us will need to be anointed twice before we can even pick up what He’s giving us. You are in training.  You might feel like you are ready now, but you may not be.  That is why you are still waiting.  Once that second anointing hits, you are ready to step into it.

None of us have “arrived” even if the biggest prophet in the land prophesied over you and anointed you, there are things that we still need to learn, and it is important to be humble.  Humble yourself under the Mighty Hand of God and He will exalt you at the proper time.  Humility.  I mean David could’ve said “you all don’t need to anoint me, the prophet Samuel did it already!”  But he humbled himself, stayed the course, went through the training in FULL and stepped into it when it was time.

You are not ready until God says you are.

Now let’s look at how he became king of Israel…

2 Samuel 5:1-3

All the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron and said, “We are your own flesh and blood. In the past, while Saul was king over us, you were the one who led Israel on their military campaigns. And the Lord said to you, ‘You will shepherd my people Israel, and you will become their ruler.’”

When all the elders of Israel had come to King David at Hebron, the king made a covenant with them at Hebron before the Lord, and they anointed David king over Israel.

Yes!!  You read that right they anointed him AGAIN!  Triple anointing! 3 times.

I don’t know about you, but I did not know that David was anointed 3 times before he could step into his full calling. 1, 2, 3 times people!

Notice, again he didn’t posture his way into the position.  He never went looking for anyone or asking anyone to put a word in for him.  He didn’t go looking for a platform or position.  They came to him. verse 1 “all the tribes of Israel came to David” They found him when it was time.

Relax.

Go make yourself useful until it is time.  Enjoy your Christmas.  If God wants you to have it this year you will get it, if not, do not despair you are waiting on the next anointing.

If you don’t have it, you are not ready.  And believe me, you don’t want the Lamborghini if you don’t know how to drive a vehicle like that.

Take the time to read how different David was between his 1st anointing to his 2nd anointing and then watch how different he was from 2nd to 3rd anointing.

He was running and dodging bullets between the 1st and the 2nd.  Heavy training. He knew who he was destined to be, but he had to get into a lot of hand-to-hand combat.  He had to war and fight to get through some situations.  He was very skillful in dodging bullets.

However, there was a difference after his 2nd anointing.  He was more secure in his calling then.  There was this sense of calm about him.  He was more settled in his spirit on his role.  Therefore, he handled situations differently.  The warfare did not stop, and it never does but how you handle the warfare should change. His men were fighting but he was in a place of complete REST.  His posture was different.

What is yours is YOURS.  At a certain point, that revelation hits your soul differently.  It hits differently. The warfare is not the same.  Because you are no longer fighting to obtain something.  You already have it.  Why do you think David was so upset when his men killed Saul?  Because they were trying to install David as the king.  Except David already knew he was the king!  He already got the job.  It was just timing and he was in training for the position.  That’s all. The turkey is in the oven, you can stop watching it now.  You just need to keep your head sane and prepare to TAKE OVER when the timer goes off!!!  You’re waiting for the beep baby! (beep beep beep LOL)  And, only God has control over the timer.

Psalm 31:15

“my times are in Your hands…”

The enemy could fire a million bullets NONE of them will work when you know WHO you are, and you are walking HOW God says you must walk, and you are positioned WHERE God told you to be. You spot the enemy before they even see you and much like Elisha you already know what they are discussing in secret BEFORE they do it (2 Kings 6:8-20).  You are PREPARED.  Your enemies will scratch their heads wondering why what they are sending doesn’t work on you, what they don’t know is that you’ve been dipped twice in that gold wave, 2, 3, 4 times even!  They are working with the upgraded anointing now!  You no longer duck and dodge bullets!!!

Enjoy your Christmas.  Stop watching that bird.  Go and continue to get yourself prepared.  You do not need to posture, jockey for position, manipulate, kill anybody (with your mouth), chase anybody down in order to get it.  With Judah, God told David to go there.  Some of you will be instructed to GO.   With Israel, God made them go to him.  Some of you will be instructed to STAY.  It’s called order.  Divine order.  God does things in order. Relax. Whatever needs to be done HE will let you know.

There’s an anointing that is being released at specific points in your journey.  And, that cannot be rushed.

Until then, enjoy your Christmas time.  There is no need for the despondency and the despair.

Blessings
