Prayer For Healing A Sick Pet

Pinterest Google+

Some of you may read this title and think “A prayer for healing a sick pet, really?”

The truth we know that in most countries animals are kept outside of the house.  So I would imagine some of you would not think of praying for a sick pet.  Especially when you think of all the people that you know that need prayer.  I’m hoping that by the time you read this article, you will change your mind about this.

You see, to many people their pet is much like a member of the family.  This is their baby.

I am also convinced that dogs were put on this earth to teach us how to love unconditionally.

The first time someone asked me to pray for their sick dog it did take me by surprise but since I told her I would do it I went with the request to God and asked what was His perspective on praying for a dog or a cat.

These are the thoughts that came to me:

1. If pets weren’t important to God then He never would have commanded Noah to take two of each type and put them on the ark when He was about to destroy the earth with a flood. (Genesis 7:16).  Let’s face it He wouldn’t have created them in the first place!

2. Isaiah 65 which is the picture of the new heaven and the new earth has the wolf and the lamb eating together while lions will eat straw.  Even a snake is mentioned! This is the picture and harmony among all animals on the new earth.

3.  Remember that man was the one that brought sickness and death to the earth through sin.  This means that animals, much like man, was created to live forever.  Even the plant life would live forever because there would be no death. Can you imagine your garden blooming year round and nothing dying? We are the ones responsible for animals getting sick.

4.  Nowhere in the bible does it say that your pet hamster, pigs or pet fish has a soul that needs to be saved. While pets are important to God, they are not to be viewed above humans.  You shouldn’t love your animals more than you love a fellow human being.  We have souls that need to be saved and animals do not. The bible clearly shows us that God puts a greater love on humans and so should you. Matthew 6:26 (NIV) “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”

5.  Revelation 19 has Jesus coming back on a white horse.  Through this we know that animals are in heaven.

So now that we have established that pets are important to God and that they are in heaven, let’s talk about the process of healing.

Are you wondering: Can prayer heal the sick animal?

Here are some scriptures to consider before praying for your animals

Proverbs 12:10 (NIV) “The righteous care for the needs of their animals, but the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel.”

Psalm 145:9 (NIV) “The Lord is good to all; He has compassion on all He has made.”

Exodus 23:12 (NIV) “Six days do your work, but on the seventh day do not work, so that your ox and your donkey may rest, and so that the slave born in your household and the foreigner living among you may be refreshed.”

The sabbath rest was not only intended for you but for your animals as well.  Since we have dominion over animals we should be the ones enforcing the rest.

What does the bible say about healing?

Jesus was known in the Bible as the great healer and there are many healing prayer scriptures that you will find speaking of those that he healed. Do you know the story of the woman who had the “issue of blood”? It was her faith that gave her the strength to press on through the crowds until she got to Jesus. She was praying for healing and her faith was so strong that she knew that just by the simple act of touching the hem of his garment she could get that healing that she was praying for. It was the full belief that she had in the healing power of Jesus that caused her to do what she did – in this case she did not even ask! She just touched a piece of Jesus and she was made whole because she believed.

Your sick pet cannot ask either but you know what they need so you can make supplication for them.  Activate your faith and belief in the healing power of Jesus and ask for them.

Can you recall a place in the Bible where Jesus refused to grant the request of a prayer for healing? No, there is no record of that.  Ask God to strengthen your faith so you can believe for healing for your sick animal.

Here is a little prayer for healing your sick pet

Lord I know that I am your child and as such you hold me higher than the angels and the animals that you have created. Even so, pets are all important to you whether it is a dog, cat, lizard, snake, hamster, pig, a fish whatever it may be, you created it. Lord, I thank you for your awesomeness and power, for providing for my every need and the needs of my animal. So, Lord, I come to you now praying for healing for my sick pet, ________. I am in need of your help. You know the exact illness that is afflicting my pet even though he/she cannot speak; I trust your divine guidance in_________life. Help them Lord; deliver _________ from any pain and suffering. Grant ___________ your peace as I place him/her in your capable hands. I ask for healing, I ask for strength, I ask O Lord that your perfect will be accomplish in this pet’s life for your glory, in Jesus name. Amen

If this prayer has blessed you and your animal, please share it with others.

Hello. Thank you for your website. Please could you kind faithful believers pray for my sweet “Little Honey” who is a precious girl to me as I am alone and isolated, and I have no-one to pray with me. She is my loving dog who has a supposedly untreatable black skin/baldness condition that is offputting to people although not-catching. She is the sweetest dog I’ve ever owned. I know God can cure her if He wills it. Thank you and God bless you all. I pray that all the pets on this page receive God’s healing and that all their owners are comforted by His Holy Spirit in Christ’s name. Amen.

Dear Father in heaven, we pray for Connie and her cat Hellen, that you would bring healing and wholeness and would deliver them from their pain. You know what exactly is going on and you know their hearts too, we pray that Connie would no longer have to worry or have any pain because Connie and her cat is covered with the blood of Jesus, he bore our sins and cleaned our iniquity. He says in his scripture that: “the righteous cry out and The Lord heard and delivers him out of all their troubles, the Lord is near to those who have a broken heart and saves such who is crushed in spirit, many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord delivers him out of them all. In Jesus name we pray and believe this. Amen!

I just saw this site when I was looking for an answer if God heals pets. My Siberian Husky, Nanook, is very sick. He’s lost so much weight. He doesn’t want to eat and drinks water all day. I cant find a food he likes. I’m spending a lot of money on vet bills and dog food. The vet has done all sorts of tests and they all came back normal. I don’t know what else to do. I love him so much. I am just so sad that I can’t help him. I’m scared if I take him back to the vet he will tell me to put him to sleep. That will devastate me.
    I need a miracle.

    Thank you in advance.

Wow. So many questions to ask. Where do you live? Is lyme disease ruled out? Is cancer or tumors manifesting? Has he been on aspirin or medications? Has he suffered a fall or possibly broken a bone in his neck area?
After all these basic questions to all of the pet owners on this site… especially older dogs and companion animals of great emotional worth… Jesus has a lot to say about prayer and healing in general. This could be kind of long… but I will keep this short for right now. This could be a chapter in a book. Basically… there are very advanced / high faith teachings and prayers out there right now concerning answered prayer and how to get prayer answered in general.
The basic topical outline is this:
Seek and keep on seeking, everyone who keeps on seeking will find, ask and keep on asking, everyone who keeps on asking will receive, keep knocking… everyone who keeps knocking, the door WILL be opened to them. Luke 11:5-13 is a very valuable teaching from Jesus Christ, second person of the Holy Trinity that is God. And he cannot lie.
I have recently heard stories out of other countries around the world on YouTube from missionaries like David Hogan and Bruce Allen. They tell of walking in the supernatural, miraculous instant healings, and resurrection of the dead… many dead.
Basically, dead raising by relatives, pastors, missionaries if successful usually takes from four hours to 14 hours or more. Hogan tells of a daily prayer chain by 4 people asking for a miracle of creation for a man whose life depended on his getting his foot back… which had been amputated. These four people prayed 4 hours everday for one month. There was NO sign of an answer… until the 30th day… when the man woke up with a brand new foot. Hang in there. Real faith and persistence is the MAIN THING in answered prayer. Sometimes God needs time to work with… to get angels through… and to fight principalities. (Daniel)
They prayed to God the first day, and spent the next 29 days thanking and praising God in blind faith. Faith is NOT an instant two minute pastoral or church prayer. Real prayers of faith usually are very passionate, heart felt, and take some time.
By the way, the two women who raised a dead daughter who prayed for 14 hours straight seeking God and asking his help were NOT trained people of God, pastors, missionaries, etc. They were ordinary Christians… with a passion for loved ones and to get their prayers answered. You have nothing to lose. Even if all fails, remember… you will no doubt get much closer to God and your entire life will never be the same again.
Nothing is impossible with God. Nothing is impossible to those who believe. First part of that is in Luke. Second passage is Matthew 17.
Also…ask me anything in my name, and I will do it. John 14:14, John 15:7, John 16:23.
That’s all Jesus. And scripture cannot be broken.
Most Christians give up way too soon. They never give God a chance to move. Or they make up some ridiculous tradition of religion to cover over prayer failure. Prayer failure is ALWAYS our fault. Never God’s. His answer is always YES, and Amen.

Bill, It is now more than 13 months since your post. How is Nanook? I hope your prayers were answered and he is doing well. Perhaps those prayers have brought me to this site today, where I read you message. I am wondering if he might have EPI – exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. If he is still with you and still ill, please look into this condition. It is often overlooked by vets. It is not “curable”, but it is very manageable. Please let me know how Nanook is.

I can across your site tonight and was so touched by what you wrote about animals. I’ve been praying for my cat Bodie whose been diagnosed with cancer, but felt God probably wouldn’t answer because Bodie is an animal and not a human. Your site encouraged me to ask the Lord again. Would you kindly pray too. Thank you.

Keep praying Tresa, Bodie is one of gods creations and has the spark of our lord within. I pray that the cancer within your companion be cured by the divine light of our Lord.
This helps me when I falter
Pray without ceasing, for prayer always changes things.
Sometimes… it changes the outcome of our circumstances.
Sometimes… it changes our response to them in unexpected, grace filled ways.
Take the time to discern God’s loving response to your daily prayers for yourself and your animal companions.
      Bless you and Bodie

My wonderful companion Kimba was diagnosed on Friday with hemangioscaroma from a tumor taken off her tongue. She is my family and I’m heart sick. She goes in for Xrays and Ultrasound on Tues to see if the cancer has spread throughout her body or is localized to her tongue. I printed out the prayer on your site, but also hoping you could pray that she pulls thru this ordeal. You’d have my heartfelt appreciation.

A year ago I found a dying kitten in an empty lot. She could hardly move. I fed her and she immediately started coming around. I took her home and named her ” Happy”. Because she celebrated life 24/7. Always in good mood. Bout a month ago I saw her hair starting to fall off on her hind legs. I didn’t think much at first but last week I got a better look at it. It was pussee and infected. The vet said it was lukemia and gave me meds. Thanks are not working and it’s getting worse. She still remains cheerful and active. But I’m so scared so hasn’t much time left. I need as much prayer as I could get for her. I know God can do anything, I hope he does his miracle work and cure her. She’s so innocent she don’t deserve to suffer

In him we see the goodness and beauty of all your creation and we are reminded daily of your love, Lord so I ask humbly for your intercession on Simons illness, I do not ask this for myself but rather for my little buddy that has been a faithful and loving companion, every thing you ask of us this cat has provided.
I beg of you all to pray for Simons cancer to go into remission and if the Lord wishes him back to take my friend gently with no pain.

Simon the gentle giant lost his valiant fight with cancer at 07:03 Saturday morning the Lord granted our prayer and he died peacefully in my wife’s arms without pain, blessed are the creations of God. I had prayed long and deeply that he not die in pain and the spirit guided me to two different natural medications to help him pass without pain and they worked.
I thank the lord daily for giving me the duty and total pleasure of caring for Simon from 5 weeks old to death and for enlightening me that all creation has the Masters spark within and should be treated with the care and respect that one should render The Creator for his creations.
Please pray that Simon is greeted at the masters table as he touched everyone who knew him and made people who didn’t like cats ended up loving Simon. I pray too that Larry, my wife’s father who has passed to
care for Simon until we are there to give praise to Lord with him.
