Prophetic word for September 2018
This is the prophetic word for September 2018 which is the Hebraic month of Elul. This month August 11 – September 9th. September 10th starts the new year 5779.
So we have a little under a month before the year changes. Are you feeling the anticipation and the build up in your spirit? You should. Over this last year you should’ve seen things springing up in your life that are new. Afterall, it was the year of the new beginning and as previously written not a new beginning of a do-over but more of a continuation of things that were already in process. While you may not see everything perfectly in place you should already have your eye on the new things. 5779 is the year of fruitfulness and I’ll write about that for the new year this is when you see the fruit of what is springing up now.
For those of you who are seeing absolutely nothing….
For years before I started writing these words I would listen to other prophetic words and would hear people in the workplace and at different churches get excited about the new year. Always saying “this will be my year”. And they wholeheartedly believed it. The problem is that every year looked exactly the same as the last with absolutely no breakthrough. Why is that? Why do we receive encouraging words and never actually receive anything? Sometimes the year actually turns out worse than the previous year. Well, I’ve observed two things:
- You have to be able to discern your personal time and season. Not every prophetic word is for you. When you have a very close relationship with the Lord by developing a deep intimacy with Him, you will be able to discern your personal timing on things. Therefore your ears will be in tune to the prophecies that are for you and the ones that are not.
- A lot of the prophetic words don’t come with instructions. What I mean is that when you hear a word and it’s all about blessings and there are no conditions attached, while it may sound good, you should use caution with that or ask God what you need to do to receive it. Just as there are promises in God’s word with conditions attached to them, most prophetic words have conditions as well. You are rarely going to read prophetic word on here that doesn’t come with instructions. So, the word will only happen after you follow the instructions.
Even in Jesus’ healing ministry some he spoke a word and blind eyes were opened and then there was the time he used mud and told the man to go wash his face. Well, what if the man didn’t follow the instructions? No breakthrough.
I just don’t want to see you going around the mountain yet again.
Now for the word…
The month of Elul is known as the month when the King is in the field. So imagine that the majority of the time the King lives in the palace. This means that He would be inaccessible to many people. Well, this is the month when the King goes out into the field and the regular people who wouldn’t normally have access now do! This is exciting! 2 things come to mind:
Psalm 66:18-20 If I had not confessed the sin in my heart,
the Lord would not have listened.
But God did listen!
He paid attention to my prayer.
Praise God, who did not ignore my prayer
or withdraw his unfailing love from me.
Be mindful how you approach the King. Repent, confess your sins daily so there is nothing standing in the way of Him hearing you.
The 2nd thing is what happens when Abraham meets Melchizedek:
Genesis 14:18-20 Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. He was priest of God Most High, and he blessed Abram, saying,
“Blessed be Abram by God Most High,
Creator of heaven and earth.
And praise be to God Most High,
who delivered your enemies into your hand.”
Then Abram gave him a tenth of everything.
So here Abraham comes back from a battle with the spoils and he is met by Melchizedek who gives him bread and wine (communion), blesses him as the priest of the Most High God. How does Abraham respond to this? He pays tithes.
What is really peculiar about this scripture is that the “law” to pay tithes came after this in Leviticus. So how did Abraham know to pay tithes when there was no law? Revelation knowledge. He recognized that he was in the presence of Jesus Himself (THE King) and he got the revelation that he needed to honor the encounter by paying tithes. Divine Revelation. Read Hebrew 7:1-3 this will show you that Melchizedek was actually a theophany of Jesus
After Abraham received this revelation, he honored the King.
There are some things that God will tell you to do after you encounter Him. You just need to follow the instructions and you need to honor Him in whatever way He shows you.
So, where is the field?
The field is where the King says it is. What I mean by that is God will tell you to go somewhere or do something. When you do it, He will meet you
there. Again, the emphasis is on following the instructions. The field could be at some secluded location. A specific spot. At a conference somewhere. At your workplace. Maybe you’ve attended enough conferences and He wants you to stay home and clean your house. The field is where God says it is. When you show up where He tells you to go there He will be.
Here’s a practical example. I’m not one for attending conferences. They are good but I don’t idolize or chase after people. Impartations are great but I don’t feel I need a special touch from someone (unless God says I do). Laying on of hands is biblical. However, the most powerful times and growth I have had in the realm of the spirit has been me alone with the Lord. One on one with God has worked for me thus far.
This past December I was invited to a party. The Lord made it very clear to me that I was to go to that party. I went with a high level of expectancy because I knew something would happen because God told me to show up there. As I opened the event in prayer I saw the heavens open and a mantle came down out of heaven and wrapped around me. No one touched me. There was no impartation or laying on of hands. I was just standing in the place where He told me I should be. It was still the same one on one impartation from the Lord just in a place that He assigned. It had nothing to do with who was at the party. It had everything to do with me being in the right place at the right time.
The take away is, the field is where God says it is. When you show up where He says you need to be you will get what you are suppose to get. Then, you honor the King.
Genesis 28, it is time for Jacob to get married and his father tells him not to marry one of the Canaanite women but instead travel to Paddan-aram and marry one of Laban’s daughter. So Jacob follows the instructions and goes where he is told. On his way there he is tired so he gets a stone and goes to sleep under a tree. It just so happen that around this tree there is an open portal going up to heaven and he sees angels going up and down and God delivers a powerful message to him in a dream (divine revelation). When he wakes up he sets up a memorial in that place and makes a vow to God verse 22 “And this memorial pillar I have set up will become a place for worshiping God, and I will present to God a tenth of everything he gives me.” He honors God by paying tithes. Again, there was no law on tithing at the time.
- Ask the King to show you the field
- Meet the King in the field
- Get the Revelation
- Honor the King
Here’s a prayer for you:
Most High God, I thank you that this month you will be in the field to meet with me. I pray that you will show me where this field is for me. That I will be diligent and faithful to follow the instructions you will give me. Perfect everything which concerns me this month. Bring to a close the things that need to close before I enter the new year. Help me to be mindful of repenting and confessing my sins before entering your presence so that nothing is standing in the way of me receiving this divine revelation. I promise to honor you in the way you reveal to me, in Jesus name, Amen.
Draw close to the Lord because He has drawn close to you this month. Be blessed!!
