Who is this word for? Those who are feeling overwhelmed.
Are you feeling overwhelmed of late? Almost like you are just not able to cope, understand, process or handle all that is happening around you? You need power.
This is going to happen even more so to those of you who can pick up on others easily spiritually. I wrote a prophetic word before titled Why am I feeling like this? If that word resonated with you, then this one will too.
When Jesus was getting ready to depart from the earth, He told the disciples to wait, not to do anything until they receive power before going out.
Acts 1(NKJV)
4 And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; 5 for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” 6 Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” 7 And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. 8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
I think, we think, of this power as only something that was needed to perform signs, wonders and miracles but it is more than that! They no longer had Christ walking with them in the flesh. They were on their own….selah!
They couldn’t run to Him anymore if they couldn’t cast out a demon, He was no longer there to multiply anything, to give clarity if they needed it, they were being hunted to be crucified and in the midst of that they still needed to reach people with the gospel without fear. They didn’t have Him to talk to anymore. Just imagine what that would feel like if it was you. He’s with you for 3 years and then He’s no longer there and you are expected to do what He did, and greater works. That is a bit much. And, the replacement (Holy Spirit), when He shows up, you can’t see HIM. Yikes! It was a huge adjustment.
That has to be overwhelming.
When you look at everything that is happening around you right now, do you feel overwhelmed? If you can pick up on the emotional and spiritual state of people around you. I’m sure you do! When it’s a constant, weird things happening in the news every day, no letting up, it’s one thing after the other, after the other, it’s a bit much after awhile.
You need power.
When you became a born-again believer in Christ, you received the Holy Spirit. What happens is that we need to be refilled. It’s not a one-time deal. I am convinced that there are moments in life when we need to ask for a refilling! We kinda leak over time.
2 Timothy 1:6-7
6 Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
We usually quote verse 7, when we feel fear, but verse 6 says what we need is already within us and only needs to be stirred.
What is already in you? Power, love and a sound mind.
Fear is one thing, but feeling overwhelmed is another. Speaking from experience, and imagining that the disciples felt the exact same way when Jesus went into heaven, when you are feeling overwhelmed what you need is POWER. Ask for the Power.
Simple Prayer for Power:
First anoint, your hands and your forehead with oil. Hold your hands up.
Holy Spirit, I need Your Power, fill me with your Power, in Jesus name, Amen.
He’ll send a lightning bolt from heaven and hit you like someone just hit you with a defibrillator and you’ll be revived in a second! And for those who may still be struggling with the theology on this one, how about your try it first before you comment.

I have been feeling overwhelmed,not knowing what to say to the Lord through prayer,feeling like I have said it all to Him.I keep on praying in spirite,he begin to answer me through dreams.
I am greatful to be called His owen and very thankful for this Ministry.
Thank you Nicole for this word and reminding us about the gift left by Jesus. Indeed we forget, well I do anyway, that we have the Holy Spirit living on the inside of us. The same power that raised Jesus from the death is on the inside of us. Thank you 🙏🏾
So this post resonates with me, of late I noticed I was getting scared, old traumas resurfacing, anxious thoughts etc, one thing I know I have been practicing lately in the feeling of being overwhelmed is casting all my burdens on God because He promises i won’t be shaken or moved.
I would definetely try asking God for His power and increased capacity

There has never been a time that I have asked for His Power and Him not come through for me! It’s always glorified HIM! It’s HIS Power not mine! It’s HIS POWER that breaks the yoke! All the Glory goes to Him my Savior! 🥳✝️🙂❤️🔥
Ok so I’m feeling rather sad as I done exactly as you said, anointed my hands and head with the oil pit my hands up to the sky, said the simple prayer and ….. nothing!! Sigh I had the faith, I done what was told, believed for it and not a thing. Went to sleep, hopes maybe/perhaps throughout the night and agin nothing. This is what I struggle with, this is why o can’t have the faith to believe all the time because of things like this. God only knows I could do with some power, it’s been an extremely difficult summer. Glad that it worked for some. God bless
Wendy, God gives us power to do the things He has called us to do. Perhaps you are taking on things you shouldn’t be doing? Go back in prayer and ask the Lord what you may be carrying that you need to put down. I think this may be a good place for you to start. Blessings
Wendy, I understand completely what you are saying. What you just said is my testimony. But I still hold to God’s unchanging hand. Because one thing I know without a shadow of a doubt is he knows my heart. I have a heart to do what he has put me here to do. Keep holding onto his word.
Thank you for this powerful word. I really feel encouraged and refilled after the prayer. Lately, I have realized that I feel overwhelmed by the never ending lawlessness, unemployment, chaos, despair and what I pick up in the spirit in the inner city of Johannesburg, South Africa. There is also clearly a constant attack on our infrastructure (electricity & water supply) and our citizens are tired and feeling hopeless. Yes, I agree that some point we need to be refilled. I am so grateful and in awe that we can just tap into the power of the Holy Spirit.
I had a dream earlier in the year where I was laying on my back in a garment that had some colourful stones on the chest area. I then saw two huge hands come and rest on my chest. I then felt a surge of power go through my chest and I partially rose up off the ground from the force of it. I said Lord “what is this what is happening to me?” I then heard the voice of the Lord say “I am resuscitating you”.
I later looked up the garment in the word and I then realised that it’s what the priests wore when they entered the tabernacle. Not sure why exactly I was wearing this though lol. But the months following I realise the Lord has been strengthening me when I get overwhelmed.

I have been feeling so overwhelmed lately due to workload and preparation for job interview. I sleep late and rise up early. It is just too much for me. Indeed I need POWER.
