Prophetic Word – 2 Timothy 2:1-7

2 timothy 2:1-7

This prophetic word is based on 2 Timothy 2:1-7.

Actually, you are the one that will come up with the message because the Lord has instructed me just to give you this same scripture in 3 different versions of the bible.

After you read it, you will for sure see what He is trying to tell you.  Last week I showed you how to meditate on scripture and these would be awesome to apply to this discipline.

2 Timothy 2:1-7 AMP

So you, my son, be strong [constantly strengthened] and empowered in the grace that is [to be found only] in Christ Jesus. The things [the doctrine, the precepts, the admonitions, the sum of my ministry] which you have heard me teach in the presence of many witnesses, entrust [as a treasure] to reliable and faithful men who will also be capable and qualified to teach others. Take with me your share of hardship [passing through the difficulties which you are called to endure], like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No soldier in active service gets entangled in the [ordinary business] affairs of civilian life; [he avoids them] so that he may please the one who enlisted him to serve. And if anyone competes as an athlete [in competitive games], he is not crowned [with the wreath of victory] unless he competes according to the rules. The hard-working farmer [who labors to produce crops] ought to be the first to receive his share of the crops. Think over the things I am saying [grasp their application], for the Lord will grant you insight and understanding in everything.

2 Timothy 2:1-7 NKJV

You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier. And also if anyone competes in athletics, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. The hardworking farmer must be first to partake of the crops. Consider what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things.

2 Timothy 2:1-7 The Voice

But as for you, my child, be empowered by the grace that is in Jesus, the Anointed One. Whatever you heard me teach before an audience of witnesses, I want you to pass along to trustworthy people who have the ability to teach others too. As a good soldier of Jesus the Anointed, be ready to suffer with me. Remember that soldiers on active duty don’t get wrapped up in civilian matters because they want to satisfy those who recruited them. Look at it another way: if someone competes as an athlete, he won’t win the race and be crowned with the wreath if he breaks the rules. And the farmer who exhausts himself in the field should be the first to taste his harvest. Think about what I am telling you, and let the Lord give you clarity on all of it.

  1. Blessings in the name of Jesus Christ. I feel I had to read the word more than one time as I then began to get clarity on it. I feel as the entire portion of the word shared speaks to me. To be strong in Christ-Christ is sufficient. We must teach – share knowledge and experiences (especially testimonies, many are encouraged by testimonies); many brothers and sisters receive messages but they retain these because of fear or feel ashamed. In our walk in this life we must carry our cross – we will have hardships but we can do all things through Christ that strengthens us. Hardships/difficulties helps to keep us humble, helps us to grow and makes us recognize our need for God. In all things, or circumstances we must always have our eyes fixed on Christ, our desire should always be to please Him and not man. We must be careful to follow the word of God (Psalm 119:105, 119:11-12). In verse 6 I need to ask God for more clarity. I feel its speaking to me, but I can’t fully grasp what it is. Then we must always ask God for understanding (Jeremiah 33:3; Ephesians 1:17) Thank you MOP, I always look forward for your postings and teachings. Many Blessings.

  2. Count the cost and stay in the race. Continue to press in to what God has called you to do in the earth because as you bear fruit, actions, words or deeds- others will be blessed by your obedience.

  3. Persevere to the very end and follow the rules. As you are following the Lord enlighten others also about the Lord. As a farmer you partake of the first fruits . You get rewarded for your job well done

  4. Please the one who recruited you (either in the natural, such as your boss, or spiritual, God our father). In all versions I keep seeing this. Everything we are doing we are to do as unto God. Doesn’t matter who is for us/against us. If God is please and (if our supervisor is pleased) that’s all that matters!

  5. My take away from this passage:
    1. Stay focused on God and your calling even in challenging, difficult times.
    2. Teach others what you have been taught so that they in turn can teach others.
