Prophetic Word – Grace for the New Thing

This prophetic word, Grace for the New Thing, has been ringing in my spirit for the past week.  I feel that once we stepped into 5782 we really stepped into something completely new.

It is great to celebrate the new things and new beginnings and we all like them.  So I know there are going to be great celebrations for many of you.  It is HERE!!! You are going to need grace because some of the things you will be stepping into are new, very new. Like something you have never done before so you need God’s grace to help you navigate the new territory.  Pray for this.

However, I believe sometimes the new thing can arrive and look like absolutely nothing we thought it should.

I get the impression this is what is going to happen with some of you.

gine Holy Spirit, cupping your face, and saying to you.  “Regardless of what this looks like, It’s going to be OK.  You’re going to win in the end. Stay focused on what I told you”

Sometimes the new can catch you off guard because you didn’t expect to see it manifested in the way that it did.

(Isaiah 11:10) “In that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples; the nations will rally to him, and his resting place will be glorious”

Is that what happened when Jesus came?  It didn’t quite look like that initially, did it?

Here’s another one

Isaiah 9:6-7

For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
    Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the greatness of his government and peace
    there will be no end.
He will reign on David’s throne
    and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
    with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the Lord Almighty
    will accomplish this.

I’m sure if you lived in Bethlehem or Galilee back in the time when Jesus walked the earth you too may have had a hard time making any association with Jesus and this scripture. No, you would be picturing this Royal Prince that comes riding in His chariot.  Commanding presence.  Exceptionally good looking.  Lots of body guards.  The entire world would know for sure He was the Messiah.  Because He would have that Messiah-like glow going on, right?  After all they had the scriptures so they were already put on notice of what to look for.  But somehow, they still missed it.  Because He was a carpenter that came riding in on the back of a donkey.  How were they going to equate it with this “And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,  Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace”

This was Jesus’ prophetic word but did it look anything like that when He came?  No.  The only reason we know now is we are looking at this scripture after the fact.

That is because sometimes when the New thing arrives or the answer to our prayers it looks nothing like you thought.  And, you won’t know it till well after the fact.

Just imagine being a disciple and watching Christ being dragged away and crucified.  You’re not expecting that to be the end of the person you thought was the Messiah.

It got worse before it got better.

But while it seemed that everything was going wrong, the truth is that everything was actually going according to plan…. and on schedule as well.

I feel big shifts are going to happen this month and through to December and while you may feel this word is not related to you now, try and remember this word when something happens that seemed to come out of nowhere.

Rest.  Be at peace in your spirit that the Lord is in full control and your responsibility is to remain obedient to what He has asked you to do.  As long as you are walking in obedience you have nothing to worry about.

Here’s what you need to do in these situations:

1  Ask Him to give you the grace that you need to go through the bumpy ride.

2  Whatever it is, don’t speak negatively about it until you hear from the Lord directly.  Because you do not want to curse with your mouth the work of the Lord.  It’s the decade of Pey – the mouth.  So try and listen more (to God) and only open your mouth when you are sure.

3  Step back, spend some time with the Lord and in prayer ask Him “Lord, I need you to give me Your perspective on this.  Show me how You see this and how You would like me to respond” This is important because in getting this you can walk in peace even when the environment is chaotic.  It’s like you have the inside scoop.  Some things you are only going to know by divine revelation (Matthew 16:17).

Remember, that you win in the end so you can just file it under “things that happened on the journey”

Blessings

  1. This email was so timely, it came just when I honestly needed to hear even in chaos keep your calm and peace God will see me through. I have a new job that is overwhelmingly challenging. At first all I thought was to quit but jobs are scarce and as I prayed, it got easier to carry on. But I am not happy but knowing the new might bring challenges and all I have to do is be still. Thank you

  2. Love this word! Help me to be focused holy spirit in this season and to walk in obedience, peace and rest! Excited for the new things!
