Some of you may read this title and think “A prayer for healing a sick pet, really?”
Yes!
The truth we know that in most countries animals are kept outside of the house. So I would imagine some of you would not think of praying for a sick pet. Especially when you think of all the people that you know that need prayer. I’m hoping that by the time you read this article, you will change your mind about this.
You see, to many people their pet is much like a member of the family. This is their baby.
I am also convinced that dogs were put on this earth to teach us how to love unconditionally.
The first time someone asked me to pray for their sick dog it did take me by surprise but since I told her I would do it I went with the request to God and asked what was His perspective on praying for a dog or a cat.
These are the thoughts that came to me:
1. If pets weren’t important to God then He never would have commanded Noah to take two of each type and put them on the ark when He was about to destroy the earth with a flood. (Genesis 7:16). Let’s face it He wouldn’t have created them in the first place!
2. Isaiah 65 which is the picture of the new heaven and the new earth has the wolf and the lamb eating together while lions will eat straw. Even a snake is mentioned! This is the picture and harmony among all animals on the new earth.
3. Remember that man was the one that brought sickness and death to the earth through sin. This means that animals, much like man, was created to live forever. Even the plant life would live forever because there would be no death. Can you imagine your garden blooming year round and nothing dying? We are the ones responsible for animals getting sick.
4. Nowhere in the bible does it say that your pet hamster, pigs or pet fish has a soul that needs to be saved. While pets are important to God, they are not to be viewed above humans. You shouldn’t love your animals more than you love a fellow human being. We have souls that need to be saved and animals do not. The bible clearly shows us that God puts a greater love on humans and so should you. Matthew 6:26 (NIV) “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”
5. Revelation 19 has Jesus coming back on a white horse. Through this we know that animals are in heaven.
So now that we have established that pets are important to God and that they are in heaven, let’s talk about the process of healing.
Are you wondering: Can prayer heal the sick animal?
Here are some scriptures to consider before praying for your animals
Proverbs 12:10 (NIV) “The righteous care for the needs of their animals,but the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel.”
Psalm 145:9 (NIV) “The Lord is good to all; He has compassion on all He has made.”
Exodus 23:12 (NIV) “Six days do your work, but on the seventh day do not work, so that your ox and your donkey may rest, and so that the slave born in your household and the foreigner living among you may be refreshed.”
The sabbath rest was not only intended for you but for your animals as well. Since we have dominion over animals we should be the ones enforcing the rest.
What does the bible say about healing?
Jesus was known in the Bible as the great healer and there are many healing prayer scriptures that you will find speaking of those that he healed. Do you know the story of the woman who had the “issue of blood”? It was her faith that gave her the strength to press on through the crowds until she got to Jesus. She was praying for healing and her faith was so strong that she knew that just by the simple act of touching the hem of his garment she could get that healing that she was praying for. It was the full belief that she had in the healing power of Jesus that caused her to do what she did – in this case she did not even ask! She just touched a piece of Jesus and she was made whole because she believed.
Your sick pet cannot ask either but you know what they need so you can make supplication for them. Activate your faith and belief in the healing power of Jesus and ask for them.
Can you recall a place in the Bible where Jesus refused to grant the request of a prayer for healing? No, there is no record of that. Ask God to strengthen your faith so you can believe for healing for your sick animal.
Here is a little prayer for healing your sick pet
Lord I know that I am your child and as such you hold me higher than the angels and the animals that you have created. Even so, pets are all important to you whether it is a dog, cat, lizard, snake, hamster, pig, a fish whatever it may be, you created it. Lord, I thank you for your awesomeness and power, for providing for my every need and the needs of my animal. So, Lord, I come to you now praying for healing for my sick pet, ________. I am in need of your help. You know the exact illness that is afflicting my pet even though he/she cannot speak; I trust your divine guidance in_________life. Help them Lord; deliver _________ from any pain and suffering. Grant ___________ your peace as I place him/her in your capable hands. I ask for healing, I ask for strength, I ask O Lord that your perfect will be accomplish in this pet’s life for your glory, in Jesus name. Amen

Hello everyone, just posting an update on my post from a few days ago, things haven’t changed for Shiloh , she still has severe diarrhea, and is not eating, she is drinking water, tweet’s is starting to get better , her stools are getting firmer, thinking about vet visit, today even though it’s Sunday, I consider it an emergency it’s been going on all week, can’t get meds in her , either of them, my husband went to the emergency room yesterday, he has been quite ill, bad headaches , low oxygen levels, vomiting, everything always seems t9 happen at once around our house, please continue prayer’s, we so need theme, thank you all, with Gods love, Brenda, Art , Shiloh and tweet’s
Please lift up our two dachshunds , Shiloh and tweet’s in prayer, shilohs first real name when she was born is Mary, we named her Shiloh, but she is sweet and precious like Mother Mary, and tweet’s is our other doxie, they both have some respiratory stuff going on, and vomiting and diahrea, Shiloh follows me everywhere and cries a lot, I’ve had her to the vet for a checkup, the vet says Shiloh has a bad heart, because she has a heart murmur, I struggle daily to feed them, they are so picky, trouble getting pain meds and anti diahrea meds into Shiloh, we lost our 17 year old doxie in February of this year, it was heartbreaking, please pray Shiloh is ok for her teeth cleaning, and possible extractions , she has some bad teeth, my husband is disabled and we are battling many health issues, staying strong is hard for us, crying is easy, please, please, pray for Shiloh, tweet’s and my husband Art, in Jesus name , be healed all the precious animals in this site and in the world, thank you, Jesus, love, Brenda, Art, Shiloh and tweets
Father God I lift up these precious dachshunds Shiloh and Tweets to your throne of mercy and grace. I thank you that you care for all of your creations. It was your good pleasure to place these precious dogs into the hands of this woman and her husband. For in doing so you desired them to be loved and care by them. As you are aware this has become a challenge for them due to health issues. I touch and agree with them for complete restoration and healing of these beloved pets. I touch and agree that Shiloh will be more than ok for her teeth cleaning and extractions if necessary that she will in fact do great!. We believe you are the great comforter and healer. Please comfort this precious couple as they wait on you to move on their behalf. I also pray for complete healing for Art and Brenda. May you strengthen and heal their bodies as well. May ever need they have coming into the new year be met, whether physically, mentally, financially or spiritually. May you commission your angels on assignment to protect and supernatural provide their every need. Thank you Aurora, for the beautiful prayers for us all,Shiloh is doing better, her sister tweet’s is now getting the same thing, my husband is still sick , I’ve been praying over him as he sleeps, off to the vet in the morning, more meds so I can treat tweet’s now, they may have gotten into something outside, I’m throwing out all my dog food, till I can figure it out, the rabbit we have that comes into our back yard, might be sick, I have a lot of things to consider, so out into the cold weather for me in the morning to do some investigative work. I lift up the sick dogs to you and ask that your healing hand come upon them. I ask the same for my sweet Labradoodle Vino who will not eat and is suffering from an intestinal obstruction. Thank you Lord for providing, daring for and healing the precious aninmals who bring such joy to our lives. In Jesus Christ holy name I pray. Amen and Amen.
I ask for anyone who will to stand in agreement with me and in Jesus’ name declare by faith that my dog, Roxy is healed of her severe skin affliction. Jesus said that I can tell a mountain to move in His name and believe God to have ALREADY done it for me so in faith, I receive her healing. Its with faith in Him that I have the expectancy to SEE the manifestation of his faithful promise: Roxy’s healing. I stand in agreement with every prayer request here that every pet IS healed in Jesus’ name!
Please pray for my dog Otis. She’s not even 3 years old and is diagnosed with leukaemia. She’s such a beautiful, kind and loving animal that shouldn’t be suffering from this horrible disease. my pet name Queen is having a surgery today because of her lump/cyst in the back. her big lump/cyst pop and she needs a surgery hopefully Queen will recover from her surgery. Queen is a very nice and loving dog and she is my first dog please pray for my dog Queen for healing.
I was searching the web for prayers for sick pets and I was lucky to find this site. I see many others are having very difficult times with their pets also. I hope everyone’s prayers are answered.
Today, I took my sick cat, Charley, to the vet only to find he had acute kidney failure due to blockage of his bladder. He had a procedure to resolve the blader problem but now we are waiting see if his kidneys will start working again. If not, he will not survive. I am praying that somehow if will pull through this problem.
10 years ago Charley, an abandoned cat, showed up at our mountain house in Colorado. After several weeks he finally decided he wanted to stay with us. He was and is somewhat a mountain cat but has learned to live in the house like any other cat. He is pretty special and losing him would be pretty hard.
Maybe prayers from all of us will save all our pets. I will do my best for Charley

My dog simba was diagnosed with bone cancer six months ago. I’m praying that God will reach out and cure this innocent soul from this cruel and horrible disease. I’ve been praying every day since he got diagnosed, so please help me with prayers for simba so God cures him. His condition got a little worse. Thank you.

I’m not sure if it’s working because he still has seziures and I cry lots and im so helpless BECAUSE.. Seziures is a nerlogical
Disorder where there isn’t a cure for him just some MEDICATION to help control him from getting them as offten..
I feel so helpless BECAUSE there’s nothing I can do to stop it from happening or anything to to make it stop!!
All I do is watch him and try to make sure he doesn’t hurt himself or his condition worsened..

Prayers for my dog Brando. His rear left leg is lame and he isn’t a candidate for surgery. He is a wonderful loving dog. May Jesus lay his healing hands upon him and take away his pain. I believe in the power of prayer and our Lord.
Please pray for my son’s female doggie Mia. Her sister Mischka who is much bigger than Mia has hurt Mia’s eyes. Please pray for healing for Mia’s eyes and at the same time please pray for all our animals that are so precious to us. They cannot speak when they have any pain. Prayers would be appreciated for our rag doll kitty Angelo. He had a routine surgery (neutered/declaw), and his airway was punctured in the process. Our vet had to transport him to a facility more highly equipped to attend to his critical needs. This can happen but very rare. He is making strides but has a trach, and his airway has gotten clogged of mucus. He arrested a couple of times and had to be revived. Please pray he not be clogged again of mucus, that his airway be clear, and no more setbacks. Things were looking very grim, but the Lord has been answering our desperate cries for Angelo’s survival, and we long for him to return to our home. He is the sweetest pet we’ve ever had and such a joy to all of us. This is so devastating, but we know that God is good all of the time no matter what the outcome. Would you kindly lift up Angelo in prayer and pray that he heal 100% in Jesus Name? Thank you for caring and be willing to do so. The Lord bless you, and may you see a miracle in the healing of your pet.

Lord I pray for each individual animal on here including my tiggy,that you heal them and make them whole and strong again.you know our hearts Lord and you created these babies for us to enjoy. We declare a complete healing,just like you did for your children in the bible and just like you are doing right now,in Jesus’s name,Amen! Please pray for my kitty tiggy,she was just diagnosed with kidney disease and is in need for a touch from god.
Our dog Charqui was viciously attacked by a larger dog and is fighting for his life in a local vet clinic here in Chile. The vet says no human would have survived the severity of his wounds, but little Charqui gets better slowly and shows the will to live. He has been in the clinic for 2 weeks already and he is in too delicate of a state to care for him at home. We continue to pray for his healing and strength to recover completely, and also for supply to pay the vet bills. Our faith is being stretched in many ways and our hearts are broken for our little Charqui who has a long road ahead to full recovery. Please pray with us as we face this test of faith and love. We will also keep your sweet pets in our prayers.
My neighbor accidentally ran over my cat with his car. The cat is in intensive care at the hospital.

An update on Charqui… It’s been 2 1/2 months since the terrible dog attack. After 6 weeks in the clinic, Charqui is home with us now and recovering more every day! The wound is still in the process of closing up but we’re almost there! He lost an ear because of the neck wound interfering with irrigation to that part of his head. He’s still as cute as ever though, I guess it will be a reminder of the huge miracle God did to give Charqui back to us when all seemed lost. Thank you for your prayers! We will keep your precious pets in ours!
I am very sad as my cat is very sick, and according to a pre diagnose, he has either lymphoma or Feline Peritonitis. His prognosis is very poor, only a matter of weeks or even days. Even chemo can not guarantee he improves, and it would be financially difficult for me. I pray to Jesus if He and my cat want to reunite, please make it smooth and easy or if his will is to save my Cat, please do so, because for Him nothing is impossible. I will prefer, and my daughter as well, having my cat recovered and happy again for more time. I begged him to give us our cat for more time.
Hello again I wanted to update on Benji my dog. His diagnosis is one of age and very treatable. It even has other trials for a longer life span. This powerful prayer works. I was amazed at how relieved my husband and I were. In God’s loving arms.
