Some of you may read this title and think “A prayer for healing a sick pet, really?”
Yes!
The truth we know that in most countries animals are kept outside of the house. So I would imagine some of you would not think of praying for a sick pet. Especially when you think of all the people that you know that need prayer. I’m hoping that by the time you read this article, you will change your mind about this.
You see, to many people their pet is much like a member of the family. This is their baby.
I am also convinced that dogs were put on this earth to teach us how to love unconditionally.
The first time someone asked me to pray for their sick dog it did take me by surprise but since I told her I would do it I went with the request to God and asked what was His perspective on praying for a dog or a cat.
These are the thoughts that came to me:
1. If pets weren’t important to God then He never would have commanded Noah to take two of each type and put them on the ark when He was about to destroy the earth with a flood. (Genesis 7:16). Let’s face it He wouldn’t have created them in the first place!
2. Isaiah 65 which is the picture of the new heaven and the new earth has the wolf and the lamb eating together while lions will eat straw. Even a snake is mentioned! This is the picture and harmony among all animals on the new earth.
3. Remember that man was the one that brought sickness and death to the earth through sin. This means that animals, much like man, was created to live forever. Even the plant life would live forever because there would be no death. Can you imagine your garden blooming year round and nothing dying? We are the ones responsible for animals getting sick.
4. Nowhere in the bible does it say that your pet hamster, pigs or pet fish has a soul that needs to be saved. While pets are important to God, they are not to be viewed above humans. You shouldn’t love your animals more than you love a fellow human being. We have souls that need to be saved and animals do not. The bible clearly shows us that God puts a greater love on humans and so should you. Matthew 6:26 (NIV) “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”
5. Revelation 19 has Jesus coming back on a white horse. Through this we know that animals are in heaven.
So now that we have established that pets are important to God and that they are in heaven, let’s talk about the process of healing.

Here are some scriptures to consider before praying for your animals
Proverbs 12:10 (NIV) “The righteous care for the needs of their animals,but the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel.”
Psalm 145:9 (NIV) “The Lord is good to all; He has compassion on all He has made.”
Exodus 23:12 (NIV) “Six days do your work, but on the seventh day do not work, so that your ox and your donkey may rest, and so that the slave born in your household and the foreigner living among you may be refreshed.”
The sabbath rest was not only intended for you but for your animals as well. Since we have dominion over animals we should be the ones enforcing the rest.
What does the bible say about healing?
Jesus was known in the Bible as the great healer and there are many healing prayer scriptures that you will find speaking of those that he healed. Do you know the story of the woman who had the “issue of blood”? It was her faith that gave her the strength to press on through the crowds until she got to Jesus. She was praying for healing and her faith was so strong that she knew that just by the simple act of touching the hem of his garment she could get that healing that she was praying for. It was the full belief that she had in the healing power of Jesus that caused her to do what she did – in this case she did not even ask! She just touched a piece of Jesus and she was made whole because she believed.
Your sick pet cannot ask either but you know what they need so you can make supplication for them. Activate your faith and belief in the healing power of Jesus and ask for them.
Can you recall a place in the Bible where Jesus refused to grant the request of a prayer for healing? No, there is no record of that. Ask God to strengthen your faith so you can believe for healing for your sick animal.
Here is a little prayer for healing your sick pet
Lord I know that I am your child and as such you hold me higher than the angels and the animals that you have created. Even so, pets are all important to you whether it is a dog, cat, lizard, snake, hamster, pig, a fish whatever it may be, you created it. Lord, I thank you for your awesomeness and power, for providing for my every need and the needs of my animal. So, Lord, I come to you now praying for healing for my sick pet, ________. I am in need of your help. You know the exact illness that is afflicting my pet even though he/she cannot speak; I trust your divine guidance in_________life. Help them Lord; deliver _________ from any pain and suffering. Grant ___________ your peace as I place him/her in your capable hands. I ask for healing, I ask for strength, I ask O Lord that your perfect will be accomplish in this pet’s life for your glory, in Jesus name. Amen

Dear Heavenly Father, I than you for the seven wonderful year’s I got to spend with Jasmine. You allowed me to rescue her at birth and raise her to a loving, caring, unconditional friend. Now as her life comes to end due to cancer I pray that I have Mae her short life a full and happy one. She never wants for anything and gave nothing but love and companionship in return. May she rest in peace on the lap of one of Your angels until it is time for us to be together again. I know that You will restore her to her full vital self again and when we see each other at Rainbow Bridge the joy of being reunited with her will overwhelm my heart.

Hello I am new to your website Thank God for directed me to it my pet dog Sargent that I have had for 10 yrs. is sick today he isn’t active like he usually be I know he have digestive problems but I try to take care of him on little money but I anointed Him with blessed oil and prayed for him he was on the bed so I went in the kitchen he usually follow but he didn’t about 30min.he came in kitchen wobbling trying to throw up but couldn’t then like something throw him he fell over and played there so I prayed over him again gave him some table salt it usually help I tried to get him to drink water but he didn’t so I know it was God directed me to look up prayers for pet dogs that how I found your website and you had A Good Prayer I read it over Sargent about 5mins.he managed to get up and went to his water bowl and drinked some not a whole lot but I was So Happy! I have a 13 yr Chihuahua name Tito. His been sick for 6mths. I took him into be checked before Christmas and the vet told me it was stress. He give him meds for 10 days. After the meds. He was good for maybe 10 days after, but he got sick again. Loud noises coming from his stomach. I see his in pain, he gets very aggressive. He gets this every seven days. Im trying to save enough money to take him back in. Please pray for him. I cant take seeing him in pain. God bless you all! May the blood of Jesus shed over all your sick pets and protect them all in the name of the lord.

Hi everyone, I’ve been praying this beautiful prayer for my dog’s and all the dog’s on this site, Wednesday night m6 two dogs Shiloh and tweet’s got in a fight, and there is a wound under shilohs eye, a skin tear, that didn’t pear till Thursday morning, her eye almost completely swollen shut, both of them have been not themselves lately, they have been wheezy and it moved into their lungs, had them to the vet yesterday, their both on medication, it’s heartbreaking to see them in pain, still unable to get them to eat, I’ve tried all through the day, got meds into them and eyedrops In Shiloh to prevent infection under her eye, I struggle to get them to eat, fear vomiting , cause of meds and no food in the tummies, I prayed over them this morning, I’ve boiled chicken, they won’t eat, I’ve tried everything, please everyone, pray for tweet’s and shiloh, thank you all, In Jesus name, God Bless you all, m6 husband is disabled and has health issues, I. Tired , and worn out,

Thank you, Navita, I’m struggling with anxiety and fear of these two dogs whom are sisters, getting into another battle, I have a disabled husband who needs me too, and a lot going on, I pray God takes away my fear also, that tweet’s and shiloh will love one another again, they have both been sick so I think that may be why tweet’s doesn’t want to be bothered, they are both on novox for inflammation and arthritis, this has helped them so much, now to get their wheezing under control, started them on antibiotics, really don’t like getting them on meds, but they need to feel better, I pray over them daily, thank you, for praying for our babies, God bless you, With God’s love, Brenda

I agree in prayer for all the needs of these precious pets mentioned, in Jesus Almighty Name.. My little Cairn terrier Toto, 8 yrs old needs prayer, as the vet thinks he has a tumor that is cancerous. He is scheduled for surgery Feb 2nd. I am a widow, I lost my beloved husband July 2016, and still grieve for him. Toto & my other 3 dogs helped me thru the most horrific & sorrowful time of my life. Now Toto needs prayer that the Lord will heal him. I just cannot lose any of my beloved dogs before their time, they are all I have left in my house, they are my children, as I do not have human kids. Thank you for your prayers, and I pray for your dear pets as well. God bless you all, and I prayed that beautiful prayer you provided.

Thank you dear Brenda, for your sweet message and prayers. I have been cursing any possible cancer with the Blood of the Lamb, our beloved Jesus of Nazareth. I felt the lump on Toto, and it does seem to be smaller! definitely not bigger so far…. If the Lord allows our loved ones in heaven to see us here on earth, I am sure my husband will be praying, too – he knew how much I love my animals.
If I could squeeze in one more request, my female Scotty Nessie has terrible eye crusting, I have to clean her eyes more than once a day, have had her to vets, tried many products, but nothing has worked. This condition may cause her to go blind, so I am praying against that, too. I also pray for the needs of all the beloved pets on this list, I know how very precious each & every one is to you all. Hi Karen, I pray in Jesus name for healing for your precious fur babies, my little girls are both good, they heave wheezing from time to time, sounds like it’s coming from their nasal passages more, than their lungs, it usually comes on in the winter, when their not getting as much excercise, outdoors, I shovel paths throughout the yard, so they don’t get lost in the snow, since their just little dachshunds with bellies that hang low, please take care, prayers and healing blessings coming your way, God bless you all
Hi we have a beautiful strong dobberman his name is Rover.He is 18 months.When he was about a year old we took him to the vet and discovered that he has a spinal disease and could lose all the movement in his body. There is no cure for the spinal disease but we were able to manage it and it got better.But we discovered today that he has heart failure and he is having trouble breathing because he has fluid in his lungs.He is an amazing dog and has really made an impact on my entire family’s life we love him so so much and we are trying everything to save him medically.We are really asking for as many prayers as possible.He is actually still a puppy and we won’t accept this so please help us .

I just want to let everyone know that we serve an awesome and mighty God. I spent all afternoon in the vet’s office with my dog that had gotten into some rat poison. She was already in hypovolemic shock. The vet asked if we knew of anyone that had a big dog that could donate a pint of blood. My brother in law, who is usually out of state working, was at home and brought his Rottweiler to the vet’s office. That in itself shows that God works in mysterious ways. The transfusion was done and my baby came home. The vet said that she’s not out of the woods yet, but my God is bigger than that. I just got my wife to help me and we said this prayer. Thank you for posting it.
It’s me Brenda again, now my other doxie tweet’s has what Shiloh had, loose stools, pretty tapped on money now, please pray for tweet’s too. I have a 4 yr old Chesapeake Bay Retriever in the same situation. He is on 2 antibiotics now for pneumonia. The day after we found out about the pneumonia, all of his lymph nodes started to swell. The ones by his shoulders are the size of golf balls. He has a biopsy done Friday of them…and now we wait for the results.
