The 61st Annual National Day of Prayer will take place Thursday, May 3rd, 2012. Millions will unite in prayer at thousands of events from coast to coast. The theme, “One Nation Under God”, is based on the verse from Psalm 33:12 which states: “Blessed is the Nation whose God is the Lord.”

There are 3 ways in which you can participate in this event:

(1)You can visit the National Day of Prayer website and check out the guidelines to coordinator an event at your church or your Christian ministry and then  list your event so that others may attend.  There are many cities and counties all around the US that won’t be having an event and you may be the only one in your area to open your church to the community for prayer.  If you have a large church – that’s great!  If you have a smaller church – that’s great too.  The important thing is to open your church or Christian Ministry on May 3rd and let people know they can come in to pray.  The National Prayer Website offers all the resources and tools you will need for this event.  They also give you the prayer guidelines to follow so it’s relatively easy to do.  WE NEED YOU.   Please, please, please consider this.

(2) If you are an individual looking for an event in your area, you can find an event listing here.  Also, if there is no event in your area, please encourage your pastor to host an event.

(3) The Missionaries Of Prayer hosts an online prayer event each year for the National Day of Prayer.  This site will have 24 hour streaming live and on demand videos of Christian Churches and ministries all around the US.  We provide these events for those who may be at work and unable to attend an event, shut ins, missionaries abroad or for churches that may want to use our stream  in their church.  On NDP, you will be able to watch the broadcast 24 hours starting at 12:01AM on May 3rd by visiting this site.  On the day of the event we will have the NDP prayer guide listed for you to follow along . If you have a church or Christian ministry and would like your event streamed into our broadcast, please send an email to ndp@missionariesofprayer.org

Thank you for setting up a 24 hour webcast. Hopefully it will work to view at our church from 4-10 on the National Day of Prayer. I have always wanted our church to have the convenience of watching the nation pray after the official 3 hour morning broadcast. Will you also be rebroadcasting the 3 hour session from that morning? In His Holy Name, Valerie

Hey Valerie, the main event in Washington DC is actually live at 9AM – 12Noon Eastern. This event will be replayed later on at nationaldayofprayer.org. They are not sure what time they will replay this event so you will have to check with them after 1PM or thereabouts to find out the time of the replay.
