Prophetic Word – Golden Cities

prophetic word golden cities

This prophetic word is titled Golden Cities.  This is actually a continuation of the prophetic word on Saul’s Armor as I received both of these at the same time.

Who is this word for?  Everyone.  While this is a continuation of the Saul’s Armor word, which is for leaders, this part of the message is for everyone which is why I put it separately.

In the Saul’s Armor word, the Lord said that He was putting the lights out on the Sauls.  Imagine now that there is blackness, total darkness, in all these cities or mountains of society.

Then I see the lights coming back on.  When the lights start to come on they all had this golden glow to them so that the cities appeared to be golden.

I knew that the reason they had this golden glow was because God’s glory was there.  You see when the lights went out the lights were white but when they came back on they were golden.

Isaiah 60:1-5

Arise, shine;
For your light has come!
And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.
For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth,
And deep darkness the people;
But the Lord will arise over you,
And His glory will be seen upon you.
The Gentiles shall come to your light,
And kings to the brightness of your rising.

“Lift up your eyes all around, and see:
They all gather together, they come to you;
Your sons shall come from afar,
And your daughters shall be nursed at your side.
Then you shall see and become radiant,
And your heart shall swell with joy;
Because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you,
The wealth of the Gentiles shall come to you.

I knew that those who were now in those cities had God’s glory all over them so that these cities, towns, areas, businesses, neighborhoods were very different from what was there before.

I noticed as the lights were coming on throughout each city, there were some of the windows where the lights never came on.  I zoomed in closer to be sure of what I was seeing because I was a little puzzled as to why the lights were coming on but there were some windows within the same buildings still in darkness.

I said to the Lord “Why are those windows still in darkness? Why isn’t the light coming on?”

The Lord said “Those are the areas where they are not letting Me in”

Then He brought me into a place of reminiscing about when I was a new Christian to show me what He meant when He said that.

Have you ever bribed your child because you wanted them to do something?  You ask them to do it and then they start throwing a tantrum or complaining so you say something like this “if you do it, I will allow you to stay up until 10PM Saturday and Sunday night”. LOL  That’s a bribe.  Of course, this only works if you give them something that you know they really want.  It works like a charm.

God also bribes us.  Well, He used to do it to me a lot when I was a new Christian. It would show up in my dreams.  Bribery dreams!

One dream I went into a factory that was making gift baskets and they had all the items layed out on a table and the Lord said to me “you can have whatever you want”.  Well, I picked up the basket and started looking through the items and who would want peanuts when you can have cashews?  Who would want cashews when you can have chocolate covered macadamia nuts?  Who would want white wine when you can have champagne?  Who would want pate when you can have black truffle filled foie gras?  On and on it went, one item better than the other and when I thought I found the best item on the table, I would spot something even better.  I filled my basket and then He would tell me that it’s going to cost me but I would wake up before I found out what it would cost.  A week or so later He would put His finger on some habit, behavior or mindset that He wanted to change.

Instead of gladly doing it, this is what I would do instead

I would moan and gripe about it for about a month and then I would remember the dream, realized that there was something better coming so I would do what He told me to do and SURE ENOUGH!  I would have a huge reward after I did it.

What happened here?  The room for that area in my life was in darkness, whether or not I realized it, and until I allowed the Lord to come into that area of my life it was forever going to stay dark.  The minute I agreed to the change, then this beautiful golden light would come on and there was always a reward for doing it.

Then He’d give me a break for a few more months and then there’d be another bribery dream. I walked into the most beautiful home and looked into one of the bedrooms and never imagined a more beautifully decorated room, to the back of the bedroom was another door ajar.  I walk into that room and it’s even more beautifully decorated that the one before, 4 rooms deep and each room looks more spectacular than the next.

Then the following week He’d put His finger on something else in my life that He’s working on.  And, what would I do?

LOL, ya!  Then this time it wouldn’t take me a month.  It was about a week before I got over my little internal tantrum and gave in to allowing Him into that area of my life.  Again, a HUGE reward for doing it!

Then again a few months later the next bribery dream I was in the market for a new mirror for the wall in my staircase and I dreamt I was in a store and I saw mirrors so tall and wide that I’d never seen in my entire life. Each mirror bigger than the next.  Then He would say something to the effect of He could give me any shape or size mirror I wanted.  I was super excited and then He would tell me it would cost me….

LOL.  Tell me you’ve never thrown an internal tantrum before!  Yes, you have!  The thing is that each time I got up off the floor faster than the previous time because God had already proven to me that once I do what He asked me to do and let Him into this area of my life, I was going to be rewarded for it.  He never failed to give me better for what I gave up.

He never told me what I was going to get but I knew for a fact that there was something better waiting on the other side of surrendering that area to Him.

I’m at the place right now where He no longer needs to offer me a bribe.  He puts His finger on something and I know that this is the area where He’s working on me. I’m grown and He no longer needs to remind that there is a reward at the end of my obedience.  I just suck it up and I do it!

Suck it up buttercup!  Sigh.  It doesn’t mean it is any easier to do but knowing that I have the Holy Spirit to walk me through the process makes all the difference in the world.  And, then it becomes a very simple prayer and process…

Prayer:  Holy Spirit, I’m surrendering this area of my life to you.  Change me.  Show me how to do this.  The word says that there is no temptation that I will come across that is not common to man; And, when it shows up you are always going to give me way out. Stir in my spirit the minute I am heading in the same direction and show me the way out.  Give me the way out, in Jesus name, Amen. (1 Corinthians 10:13)

I PROMISE YOU!!!  If you pray that prayer, the minute you are start to head down that same path the Spirit of God will stir you up and it’s like He’s saying “hold up!  You’re about to do it again now let me show you what can do instead”.  And He FOR SURE is going to give you another option.  You just need to take the option.  That. is. all.

You will feel the hesitation in your spirit, it’s like a pause, the minute you are about to go there, and it is at that moment you have a choice. Just ask Him to show you the way out.  Tell me what to say Lord!!!  Show me what to do Lord!! Choose wisely.

You see what I have come to realize over the years is that we don’t change because somewhere we are getting a payoff for that attitude, behavior or mindset and we’re quite comfortable with the payoff (what we’re getting out of it)!  Therefore, we are in no rush to change. We see absolutely no need to change anything, UNTIL that thing causes us such pain that we can’t take it anymore and so we change.  Or we realize if we don’t change, we’ll end up losing something or someone and that loss is not worth it.  Or, God gives us a glimpse of the reward on the other side and that gives us the motivation to change.

If you have no vision to see what is on the other side of that change, you end up stuck in it.

Prayer:  Holy Spirit, show me the consequences that are associated with not allowing you to change me in __________________.  Show me what is on the other side of this change, in Jesus name, Amen.

The truth is, it doesn’t matter if you can see on the other side or not because God would never ask you to give up something or someone if He didn’t have something better.

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

How then would He ever tell you to give up something to replace it with the same or worse?  Not possible!  He is a God that leads you only into good things.  Don’t forget this.

Back to the vision, so God took me on this trip down memory lane to remind me of all the areas in my life where I allowed Him in and then His glory could be seen in my life.  Notice, that it is not the entire house that is in darkness, it’s just different rooms.  You are a child of God so His Light is in you but as a part of your sanctification process you have to slowly give over those rooms (John 13:6-10). In His grace, and because He doesn’t want to overwhelm us, He tends to only show us one or two rooms at a time.

It’s going to cost you.  But remember that there’s a reward attached to it. So, what you get back after the change will make you wonder why you didn’t change sooner! It will be better than what you had before. And, you’re the one benefiting from the change, not God.  Your change doesn’t add one inch to God being God.  However, you are the one that will be reaping all the blessings from it.

So what area is it that He’s put His finger on in your life?  Are you allowing Him to do the changes that needs to be done?  These are rhetorical questions, of course.

I’m not saying this will be easy, but it will require you to surrender it to Him in order for Him to start the process of transforming that place.

Revelation 21:23-27

23 The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light. 24 And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it. 25 Its gates shall not be shut at all by day (there shall be no night there). 26 And they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it. 27 But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

Blessings

  1. All your messages are always speaking volumes to me and best of all there is how-to for us to yield to God to make progress.

    I would like to highlight speaking in tongues – probably you have written on it before – that helped me tremendously in big dramatic changes, such as childhood traumas, some of their effects are so deeply rooted and causing harm unconscious to me. Only through a season of speaking in tongues as led by the Spirit that I got through the valleys. So powerful that I can’t help but share whenever I am given the opportunity. One great book that I would recommend is by Dave Roberson & made free of charge in amazon kindle, it literally saved and transformed my life (& indirectly lives around me). Praise the Lord!

  2. Yes, just another confirmation to what has just happened in my life. It’s really scary but I’m trusting that God will do what he says.

  3. Yes, Lord. All.must be surrendered and Your glorious Light drive out darkness. Thank you, beautiful Spirit for guiding us. Provide that interlude, Lord, so that when harshness is spoken to me, I can pray & rejoice in suffering as You, Lord Jesus, and remain slient instead of reacting.

  4. Oh my God!! What an on time word!! I definitely believe there are some things God wants us to give up! Let nothing separate us from the love of God!!
    “The truth is, it doesn’t matter if you can see on the other side or not because God would never ask you to give up something or someone if He didn’t have something better.”

    I truly believe God has something better, we just have to trust His choice and the process. While reading, I thought about Matthew 19:29:
    And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.
    If you give it up as God has led you to do, you will get 100 fold in this life!! I thank God for this word!! Work on me Jesus!!

  5. Wonderful! Thanks so much, Nicole, for this prophetic word. It puts into context Isaiah 60:1-5. I designed my calendar on Monday; this verse was in my Jan, Feb and Dec months, to guide my year from beginning to end. And I’d meditated on the book of Revelation, specifically chapters 20 – 22.
    Thank you for the accompanying prayers because that will be my focus this year – to freely and openly surrender all my rooms so His light illuminates through, for His glory.
    You don’t know how much this prophetic word edifies and confirms what I’d been feeling as the leading of the Holy Spirit.
    God bless you and MOP immensely.

    1. Correct .. anyone who has left brother sister etc, it seems Christian’s want to bypass most basic message – who ever seeks to save his life shall lose it , who ever loses their life for my sake finds it , picking up our cross , Abraham looking for a city whose builder an maker is God, essau wanting immediate gratification , there is a cost serving our blessed master Jesus but so what when he has saved us for all eternity an given us the kingdom ,

  6. Yes and when we know we should and we don’t , this is sin. I just got over from being there. Writing a children’s book. I started it and stopped. Now I’m back at it. I know he will bless it. Thanks. Love those video pieces haha.
