Prophetic Word for September 2019 – Elul
This is the prophetic word for September 2019 and the Hebraic Month of Elul.
Elul began sundown yesterday, August 30, and runs for 29 days. It is the last month before the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashannah, as such it is time for the final push. It is a month for the preparation of the new. It is a month of introspection and war.
I know for many of you the thought of going to war may seem too much since you have been battling for so long. Well, this is a different kind of war. This isn’t so much the battle between you and the external enemies but rather this is a battle between you and yourself. Your mindset and the way in which you do things and look at things.
You must win this war because it is important for how you will move forward into the New Year.
Elul then becomes a month of fasting and repentance and asking God to show you the things you need to change before the New Year. What are you holding on to that needs to go?
This prophetic word has 3 parts – Gad, the giant(s) and the traffic jam. Ask God to show you which part, possibly all three, is for you.
Gad
The tribe associated with the month is Gad. Here’s what the bible has to say about this tribe.
1 Chronicles 12:8 (NASB) “From the Gadites there came over to David in the stronghold in the wilderness, mighty men of valor, men trained for war, who could handle shield and spear, and whose faces were like the faces of lions, and they were as swift as the gazelles on the mountains.”
The word Gad means troop, soldier. This is the warring tribe. They are skillful soldiers.
Here’s the blessings/prophetic word that Jacob spoke over his son Gad before he died.
Genesis 49:19 (AMPC) “Gad—a raiding troop shall raid him, but he shall raid at their heels and assault them [victoriously].”
Basically Jacob prophesied that they were going to be attacked and raided but after the raiders left Gad went after them, attacked them and recovered what was stolen.
Here is Moses’ blessing on the tribe:
Deuteronomy 33:20-21 Living Bible (TLB)
20 Concerning the tribe of Gad, Moses said:
“A blessing upon those who help Gad.
He crouches like a lion,
With savage arm and face and head.
21 He chose the best of the land for himself
Because it is reserved for a leader.
He led the people
Because he carried out God’s penalties for Israel.”
Again, it is the same warring theme. So, I need you to pay attention to the different facets of Gad, he’s a lion, he can run up mountains like a gazelle, he handles a spear and a shield, he knows how and when to purse the enemy, he has a skillful arm. This tells us that Gad is not a “one trick pony”. There are different strategies for each battle.
This month you need to find out from the Lord how to overcome your individual circumstances. What strategy is it that you need to win the current battle?
Jacob prophesied the future over his son Gad. When they went to inherit the promise land, Gad took the land that was closest to the enemy. Why? Because his dad said…
Genesis 49:19 (AMPC) “Gad—a raiding troop shall raid him, but he shall raid at their heels and assault them [victoriously].”
You shouldn’t hide from your destiny. Don’t be afraid to walk out what God has given you. It will be difficult but if you already have the word of the Lord on your success, go for it!!!
Notice that Gad didn’t say “oh no, I don’t want to fight these Ammorites, I’m going to head over to the other side of the Jordan and switch my spot with Judah, let him do it” No, he did what he knew he was suppose to do because he also already got the word that he was going to be victorious.
You will need to walk it out. Huge victories usually entail huge battles
The Giant(s)
You know one of the signs that you are already in your promise land or about to enter it is that you can see the giant(s). You have 2 possible reactions to seeing them (1) you get scared and you retreat because somehow you believe that you are the one that will have to fight them (2) you say praise God, I’m looking at the giant that means that I’m in the land, about the enter the land, therefore let me posture my heart with faith and full confidence in God to defeat this giant(s)
These are your 2 options and from the story of the 12 spies I am sure you know which position you should take. I need you to know something
- God would NEVER show you the giant(s) unless you were ready so there is no need for you to be afraid. You can do this!
- The battle is not yours it is the Lord’s
- If you believe you can defeat the giant, you haven’t seen the giant
- It’s ok if your heart fluttered a little when you saw it, it’s what you do next that is important
***I did not say attack the giant. I did not say go and tell everyone “did you see that giant?” Wait on the Lord for the instructions on how to proceed
Moses never saw the giants; therefore, he couldn’t give them any guidance on what to do. Moses never saw the giants because he wasn’t going into the land. The 10 spies saw the giants which means the possibility was there for them to enter but they didn’t because of fear and unbelief. This is why you can’t tell everyone what God is showing you because they’ll talk you out of it and sow seeds of doubt.
The 2 that led the Israelites into the promise land were the two who knew the way in, saw the giants already, plus the blessings, and responded with FAITH instead of fear based on the word of the Lord.
In this month of introspection, reevaluate your alignments.
Have you ever listened to someone teach or preach a sermon and you can tell that they are still going through what they are preaching? This is not good. How can you take advice from someone who hasn’t crossed over to the other side? They are still lost. The blind leading the blind. These are the people that will lead you into a ditch!!! God bless them because they are not intentionally doing it but they are working on theories and not experience. (This is a word all by itself for someone). Before you open your mouth and share or ask for advice from someone ask yourself the question, does this person even know how to get me to the other side?
Numbers 13:26 They came back to Moses and Aaron and the whole Israelite community at Kadesh in the Desert of Paran. There they reported to them and to the whole assembly and showed them the fruit of the land. 27 They gave Moses this account: “We went into the land to which you sent us, and it does flow with milk and honey! Here is its fruit. 28 But the people who live there are powerful, and the cities are fortified and very large. We even saw descendants of Anak there. 29 The Amalekites live in the Negev; the Hittites, Jebusites and Amorites live in the hill country; and the Canaanites live near the sea and along the Jordan.”
30 Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.”
31 But the men who had gone up with him said, “We can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are.” 32 And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, “The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size. 33 We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.”
Understand that Caleb’s confidence did not come from his own strength. He was confident because of the word that Moses has spoken to them from the Lord
Deuteronomy 1:6 The Lord our God said to us at Horeb, “You have stayed long enough at this mountain. 7 Break camp and advance into the hill country of the Amorites; go to all the neighboring peoples in the Arabah, in the mountains, in the western foothills, in the Negev and along the coast, to the land of the Canaanites and to Lebanon, as far as the great river, the Euphrates. 8 See, I have given you this land. Go in and take possession of the land the Lord swore he would give to your fathers—to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob—and to their descendants after them.”
Walking into the promise is not going to be easy and your heart may flutter with fear when you see the giants but you must always remember what the Lord said and understand that God himself is the one who will defeat them and not you.
Traffic Jam
In the last month and a half I keep having this vision of a traffic jam. This is a long line of cars with red tail lights. I’ve seen it 4 times already and
every time I see it I pray for you all that God will remove whatever is causing this back up of traffic. This is the delay that you’ve been experiencing. You’re going somewhere and then it gets push back and push back and pushed back and you’re still waiting on something you should’ve had months ago! Can you relate? It’s gas..brakes…gas…brakes…gas..brakes. Like molasses, it’s really slow moving. This is for several people because I can see in my visions that there is a long line of cars. So every time I pray for you about this I sense a release in my spirit and I know things are moving again but within several days here we go again another vision of a traffic jam from another angle. I asked the Lord what is causing this and He never showed me the reason for the pile up. So as I am getting a photo to post about this I read about the “phantom traffic jam”. What is this? There’s no reason for the traffic jam! I’m sure you’ve been in one of these before where you start thinking there has to be a really bad accident up ahead except you get to a certain point and you realize there is no accident and the traffic starts moving again. Why is that?
Well, these happen when you follow the person in front of you too closely. <— read it again.
If you start watching what other people are doing in order to determine if you are heading in the right direction or if God is pleased with you or not, you’re going to get in a traffic jam. Tailgating. Following too closely behind others.
You see, the reason for their pile up could be different from yours. So stop watching them. Stay in your lane and go at the pace God is setting for you. If they are legitimately in your way and you can’t progress because they are there then I have a prayer for you at the end. God didn’t reveal to me the reason for the traffic jam because there’s no external reason/enemy, that is causing it.
You need your own word for your own journey. And, we do not give personal prophetic words. It is time for YOU to seek the Lord. More about this in the 2020 prophetic word. You have to go get your own word from God about your own life. Stop relying on other people to tell you what God is saying about you personally. The veil is torn down between God and man, we ALL have access. These prophetic words are for the body of Christ in general but you still need to seek the Lord for your own personal instructions within it.
Not every prophetic word is for you (at that moment) and I believe this, if you just read what was written here and you feel this has nothing to do with you come back in a month or two and read it again. It will start making sense as you see if play out in your own life.
This month read Psalm 27 everyday in a different version and meditate upon it.
Prayers:
For Repentance and Warfare
Father God, I repent for sinning against you, others and myself. I pray that you will reveal to me all the areas of my life that I need to release to you. Renew my mind, peel back the scales from my eyes and cause me to see things in a new way. Give me a new heart for this new season. Wash the sins and traumas of the past from my soul. Refresh me with your word. Give me a newness in my spirit. Reveal to me what the enemy does not want me to see. I bind the spirit of fear and I loose power, love and a sound mind. Give me another level of faith and a believing heart so that I may enter into my promise land. Cause me to focus on you and realize that this battle is yours and not mine. I have the victory because YOU declared that I have the victory. Renew my strength, Give me joy for this season. Give me a second wind so that I can carry on. Remove the weariness from my soul and body. I pray for the supernatural strength and angelic assistance to get where I need to go for you. In this month of Elul prepare me for the new year. I submit myself to you for the process and I pray that you finish the good work that you started in me. Perfect all which concerns me and lead me into Your path of righteousness for you namesake. Fulfill your promises to me for you are a covenant keeping God. Where I have failed or stepped out of line put me back in place. Bring it back around for this final month so that I may pass this test. I pray that strategies are released to me this week to overcome in all areas. I pray for an obedient heart to follow exactly what you will reveal to me, in Jesus name, Amen
For the Traffic Jam
Father God, I repent for following others too closely instead of following You. Forgive me for seeking others instead of seeking you to find a way out of this season of delay. I pray now that you move me from the back of this traffic pile up to the front, supernaturally. Move me around and ahead of all the things are are hindering my progress. Release divine strategies even now on how to progress. I will listen with an obedient heart, eyes, ears, will and emotions to follow the instructions and move at an accelerated pace with the angels that you are sending to move me forward, in Jesus name, Amen.
I pray this blesses you and you were able to glean something from this word. Please share your comments below. We’re praying for you.
