Prophetic Word for April 2024 – Supernova!

This prophetic word for April 2024 is titled Supernova.

Who is this word for?  This one needs some explaining…remember when Jacob wrestled with the Angel of the Lord and asked to be blessed and refused to let go until he was blessed?  Well, if you were looking at his life on the outside it would appear that he had it all.  He was successful financially, everything he touched turned to gold, he had his wives, his family…it was all there.  But somehow internally he knew there was more and that is what he was asking for.  He wasn’t greedy, he just realized that he got to the end of where he was and he needed the next thing (Genesis 32:22-31).  At the end of the wrestling, something changed. This can happen to us too , you know you need to leave the church where you are now but you’re not sure where to go and that place is wearing on you.  You know you are ready to leave your job but where would you go?  To the outside world you have the perfect job already.  Your spiritual life is great but there is something else and you don’t even know how to tap into it.  It’s that feeling you get when you come to the end of a cycle and you know something needs to change but you’re not quite sure what, or even how to make it happen.

With a lot of these prophetic words, I’m just going about my day and the Lord will say something to me that will cause me to stop and think about it.  This time He said “Supernova”

I got so excited when I heard that because I knew it was good but I still had to go research exactly what it was and how it applies spiritually.  Well, let’s just say that I chose to look at this spiritually and not give meaning to this as something to do with the eclipse on April 8th.  Let’s see!

Definition of Supernova

A supernova is one of the final stages in the life cycle of massive stars. When a star reaches supernova, it explodes in a brilliant release of energy and matter that can reach light years out into space. What’s left behind at the core can be either a neutron star or a black hole.  (Source: Study.com)

Here’s a video to show you what it looks like in space when this happens.

This explosion occurs because there’s an instability at the core, the center, which it can no longer maintain at its core and so it explodes.  Creating a light that is so much brighter than all the other stars, overtaking the darkness.

Now, you may have heard of the term being used to describe a person as well.  Here is what it means in the Webster Meridian dictionary when it is used to describe a person.

One that explodes into prominence or popularity; Also: Superstar

Now you know where the term superstar comes from.  It’s supernova.

Keep in mind that after the star explodes it can either just turn into a black hole, nothingness.  Or it becomes a neutron star and that is how the Milky Way was created, which is made up of billions of neutron stars.

In other words, you don’t need to die off and fade into blackness, you can continue to shine and create the most beautiful symphony with billions of other stars.

The definition then is a star that was able to maintain by itself for quite some time, until it couldn’t maintain anymore.  It became unstable at core.  It explodes because something needed to happen to change the current state of “aloneness” and after it explodes it either turn into billions of other stars or it can fade into darkness.  Something had to change.

We’re all Supernovas waiting to happen.

How then do we make it happen or what do we do so we don’t fall into that black hole?

1 – Obedience.  You have to go where God tells you to go and do what He tells you to do.  Disconnect from the people He’s tell you to disconnect from and Connect or align with the people He’s telling you to align with.

2 – Timing.  You can’t move things faster than God determines you to move and if you’re moving along too slow, that is a problem too.

3 – What happens after the Supernova moment – whether you turn into a black hole (aka you imploded instead of exploded) or you become a part of the Milky Way, depends on how strong your core is.  Who’s around you?  And, your internal walk with Christ, what you do when no one is looking?

4 – A Hunger and a Desire for change.  Yes, believe it or not, you can actually be the one to initiate it.  And, no, this is not a contradiction of timing.  The bible says “if you seek Me, you will find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart“. You can actually initiate your own Supernova.

I asked the Lord to give me some examples of Supernova moments in the Bible.  There are many but I’ll only give you a few.

Remember now, it’s that one moment that changed everything.  That moment when everyone notices who you are because you did something that was just “you being you” except this time other people saw it and thought you did something extraordinary.

Well, let’s quickly start with the one mentioned in the intro…

Jacob

Read Genesis 32:22-31.  This was a self initiated supernova moment.  It happened because he had an encounter with the Lord and decided he just didn’t want to have a conversation but that God needed to deposit something on him so that he wouldn’t be the same after that encounter.  There is no way you have a genuine encounter with the Lord and you stay the same. This is impossible!  Think Saul on the road to Damascus (Acts 9).  I’ve had several of these happen to me. All self initiated.  What I mean by that is, I knew there was more and I went after God for more.  You have to remember that He is unlimited, you never get to the end of God.  He is the beginning and the end.  Infinite.

What differentiates this from the others is that this is an internal supernova.  No one saw when it happened.  But what comes after, this is when they see it.  You change and then other people start to see the change…thereby creating billions of little stars.

Your own salvation was a supernova moment!  That’s if you got saved for real, if you know what I mean.

Lesson:  Your supernova moment can come from an encounter with the Lord.

David

His supernova moment wasn’t when he was anointed king, it was actually when he slayed Goliath.  He went from tending sheep to being a warrior in one moment.  And, the simplistic way in which he defeated the giant was EPIC!  You know this was a supernova moment because imagine that he was playing the harp for king Saul for quite some time before he slayed Goliath and then when he showed up to slay Goliath, he had a whole conversation with Saul over using his armor, but somehow Saul STILL didn’t know his name or recognize him?  How odd was that?  UNTIL!!!! Goliath. And no one forgot his name after that moment.  Do you ever feel invisible?  Like you’re doing so much and no one notices?  You could even be around famous people and it’s like no one is even acknowledging that you are there.  Sometimes, this is for your own protection.  It’s not time yet.  Don’t try to get noticed…when God decides it’s time, everyone will know who you are. Read 1 Samuel 16 and 17.

Lesson: The supernova came from victory in a battle.

Joseph

the Bible says “A man’s gift makes room for him, And brings him before great men.” (Proverbs 18:16).  Joseph had his supernova moment when he interpreted the dream of the Pharaoh.  He used the spiritual gift he was given at the right time, and it created his supernova.  From the jail cell to 2nd in command!  Remarkable!

Have you ever thought, if that is all it took why in the world didn’t God just put him before the Pharaoh from years back and save him all this trouble!  You know what?  It doesn’t work because you can’t get the promise without going through a process.  We don’t get to skip the painful parts.  It’s what makes us who we are.

When people ask me what I did to overcome something it seems so simplistic to say “I interpreted one dream!”  Can you imagine if Joseph was at a conference and said that?  Just interpret one dream and your life will change!  Nonsense!  LOL  There is so much that happens in those years of waiting that it is not fair to make someone believe that it was just this ONE thing that gave you what you have today.  It is so much more than that.

However, once Joseph went through his process it was his spiritual gift that closed the deal.  Do you know what your spiritual gift is?  Are you using it?  You can take a test here to find out. You know, God gave all of us gifts and the purpose is so that we can serve others by using them.  And, you get better at the gift the more you use it.  You begin to mature (Hebrews 5:14)

We always believe that we are ready before we actually are.  You can read what I wrote here about how Joseph changed through his process.

Lesson: Your supernova moment can come from the use of your spiritual gift.

Abraham

I believe Abraham had a few supernova moments but I think about how he obediently followed the Lord by departing from his homeland with his family and headed out to…nowhere!  He didn’t know where he was going.

Until this supernova moment in Genesis 13:14-17…

“¹⁴ After Lot had gone, the Lord said to Abram, “Look as far as you can see in every direction—north and south, east and west. ¹⁵ I am giving all this land, as far as you can see, to you and your descendants as a permanent possession. ¹⁶ And I will give you so many descendants that, like the dust of the earth, they cannot be counted!¹⁷ Go and walk through the land in every direction, for I am giving it to you.”

Yikes!  Seperation. He was clueless about his inheritance until he separated and got alone with God.

There was a time when “separation” for me was a very scary word.  It meant completely cutting off people.  Yes, in some scenarios that is exactly what God wants you to do.  In others, it’s not like that at all.

There’s another way you can see separation.  There’s the physical separation and then there is a spiritual, mental or emotional separation.

A separation where you no longer make decisions in your life based on other people’s opinions.  You no longer allow others to influence you when you realize that they do not mean you well.  They can even still be there in the physical, but their words, views and opinions no longer affect you as they did in the past. Are you making decisions about your life based on the evening news?  Social media?  You may need to rethink that.

This is also a form of separation.

In Genesis 13, we see that Abraham had a physical separation from Lot but in Genesis 14 we see that while he was no longer physically around him, he still came to his rescue spiritually by beseeching the Lord on his behalf.  You can still love people and pray for them while still being separated from them.

Lesson:  Your supernova moment may happen after you’ve separated yourself from the things and people that God has asked you to spiritually, physically, mentally and emotionally.

And now for the last one….

Mary

I know there are people that look at the successes of others and think “why couldn’t that be me?”.  Well, it’s not as simple as that.  There are so many pieces that have to fit together just perfectly for the picture to come into view.  And if there is one thing out of place, it just won’t work.

Mary’s supernova moment? The Pregnancy.  You’re probably wondering why I didn’t say the birth of Jesus.  No, I think it started with the pregnancy.  Let’s look at the precision of how it had to happen.

1 – She had to be a virgin (Isaiah 7:14).

2 – Joseph had to be in her life and bethrothed to her so that her pregnancy wouldn’t seem odd. She conceived Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 1:18-24)

3 – That’s 9 months, it couldn’t happen before and it couldn’t happen after. Timing.

4 – Mary can’t do it without Joseph.  He can’t do it without her.  The two of them need each other.

5 – They both have to come from the tribe of Judah. Read Matthew 1:1-17 for Joseph and Luke 3:23-28 for Mary’s genealogy.  How do you know the difference?  You’ll see they read differently after Solomon because they came from different son’s but they are both from Judah.

6 – Jesus had to be born in Bethlehem in order to fulfill the prophecy of Micah 5:2.  But, remember He is Jesus of Nazareth so something had to happen to get them to go to Bethlehem.   They say it is about 90 miles between the two places. So how did they end up in Bethlehem?

7 – The census.  They had to go back to where Joseph’s father was born “the City of David” in Bethlehem, Ephrathah (Luke 2:1-7)

8 – And even the wise men were prophesied to show up at the right place, at the right time, bringing the right gifts (Isaiah 60:6) The timing was completely orchestrated.

All of these things had to be in place for that supernova to happen.  So you see, sometimes it’s not as simple as saying “why couldn’t that happen to me?”  There were too many pieces that needed to be in place for this to happen.

I’ve come to realize that some people will get passed over and God will bring the second choice but sometimes there is no second choice.  HE chose the one HE chose and that is that!

Some people get to run away from destiny, others don’t!  How you know the difference is how God deals with you when you try to run.  Think Jonah in the belly of the whale, why couldn’t God choose someone else?  Think Saul and the road to Damascus going blind!  Couldn’t someone else write the bible?  NO!  Apparently not! It had to be him.

WE are not the ones who assign importance!  We do not get to say who gets famous and who does not!  GOD is the One who decides this.

One thing I know for sure, you can tell if there is great destiny upon your life based on the level of spiritual attacks you come under.  For sure!  Some people can get away with doing things.  Others?  Just put your little toe over that line and you see what happens to you <<<< if you know, you know!  The devil watches you like a hawk because you’re not like other people.  Hence, you can’t do what others do and get away with it.  If you know, you know!

Lesson:  Your supernova moment happens when you align yourself with the right person/people/group, in the right place at the right time.

I believe many of you are going to enter your supernova moment this year.  Just remember this, there’s no notice when it’s coming.  It just happens at a moment when you’re not expecting it…even though you are expecting it!  And, when the ball starts rolling you know it.  The explosion is just the beginning.  Remember, you need a strong core (relationship with the Lord and guard the your circle of people around you) in order to handle what comes next.  Remember that the explosion that will bring you to the forefront only lasts for a moment – this is brief.  Therefore, majority of your effort is going to be focused on what happens after the explosion.  I believe you end up in the black hole when you lose focus.  Self focused instead of God focused. What are the billion little stars?  All the people you influenced when your supernova happened. The ones that you awakened with your resplendence.  Because everybody is looking at you in this moment.  Fame and fortune can change people when they are not grounded. This is the moment when you need to draw closer to God than any other time.

Prayer:  Lord, let this be the year of my supernova! Give me an encounter with YOU. Let me not complain about my battles but see them as opportunities to step into what you have for me.  Give me the discernment and wisdom I need to separate from the people and things that you are calling me to separate from.  Don’t allow me to be influenced spiritually, physically, emotionally or mentally by the people or things that are not from you.  Make me brave and grant me the courage to trust You, even if I have to do it alone.  Thank you for the diving alignments and connections that You are bringing to me this year in Your timing, lead me to the correct place and orchestrate every detail of my life so that I will step into destiny.  I pray that my response to what happens will be one that brings You glory.  Remind me always to be humble, just as You were birth in a manger as a sign of how You entered humbly bring me to internally receive what You have for me with a spirit of humility.  More than ever may I never fizzle into a black hole but instead influence many that are draw to Your Light within me by drawing them to You and making disciples for You and not for myself.  Let me never forget You in the fame and the success. For however brief the moment may be, cause me to be a wise steward making the most of every occasion winning souls for Your Kingdom, in Jesus name, Amen.
