This is the First Fruits Blessing Prayer for the month of Iyyar. It is the 2nd month on the Hebraic Calendar.
April 22, 2023 – Iyyar 1, 5783.
May 9, 2024 – Iyyar 1, 5784.
April 29, 2025 – Iyyar 1, 5785
1. Iyar is Ziv in Hebrew which means blossoming. This is the month when the manna started to fall from heaven. Supernatural sustenance.
2. Between Passover (Pesach) and Pentecost (Shavuot) there are 49 days. During this time the Jews were told to count each day (Leviticus 23:15-16) until Pentecost when they were to bring another offering. This is called Counting the Omer. This period of 7 weeks is also known as the Feast of Weeks.
3. My favorite thing about this month is that on the 14th Iyyar the “Second Passover” is celebrated. This Passover is done for the people who were not able to make the first Passover, for whatever reason. They get a second chance to do it. Who doesn’t love a second chance? Who doesn’t want to make right some things they did wrong? It’s a Do over. Remember the story about failing the test that I shared before? It was in the month of Iyyar that God brought it back and allowed me to fix my mistake. It was upon reading that this month was the month of the second chance that I got the courage to step out and fix it. God is offering you the same this month.
4. Iyyar is the month for healing. It was in this month that the Israelites came to know God by His name Jehovah Rapha
“Then Moses led Israel from the Red Sea and they went into the Desert of Shur. For three days they traveled in the desert without finding water. 23 When they came to Marah, they could not drink its water because it was bitter. (That is why the place is called Marah.) 24 So the people grumbled against Moses, saying, “What are we to drink?”
25 Then Moses cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a piece of wood. He threw it into the water, and the water became fit to drink.
There the Lord issued a ruling and instruction for them and put them to the test. 26 He said, “If you listen carefully to the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you.”
27 Then they came to Elim, where there were twelve springs and seventy palm trees, and they camped there near the water.”
At the end of verse 26 where it says “I am the Lord who heals you” this is one of the names of God, Jehovah Rapha – God the Healer.
The truth is the first time I read this scripture I thought to myself what in the world does drinking water have to do with healing? Did you think the same? And perhaps some of you years later are still wondering the same thing.
I’m going to break this down for you so that you can understand it.
It’s all in the word for heals which is Rapha.
Coming from a conservative church background they always used this to mean spiritual healing – salvation. Which it is! But that’s not all.
When you go over to the other side, Pentecostals use this word to mean physical healing – health. Which it is! But that’s not all.
You see if we take this limited approach to the meaning of this word/scripture, it is like God gave us a gold mine, a billion-dollar bank account but we keep withdrawing only pennies! There’s so much more to the meaning of RAPHA.
Rapha – to heal.
…become fresh, completely healed (the word remission is from the devil and should never be a part of your vocabulary), healed , healer, physician, purified , reappeared, repaired, take care, darn, mend, repair, stitch together, heal hurts of nation, involving ׳restored favour (and, often, forgiveness), healed of hurt, healed consequences of backsliding, heal individual distresses, of (broken) pottery, i.e. be made whole, to cure .
So, the water was not operating as it should. Water is intended to be drinkable but that water was not, so God had to heal it. He had to fix what was broken about it so that it could be restored to its intended purposes. Phew! Again….
He had to fix what was broken about it so that it could be restored to its intended purposes.
Are you getting it????
How are you doing? I mean spiritually. I mean physically. I mean financially. I mean are you mentally ok? I mean how you emotionally? Relationally, how are your God ordained relationships going? How is your relationship with the Lord?
Are you functioning according to your God intended purpose? Are you WHOLE in all areas of your life?
This is what Jehovah Rapha is the one that can fix that which is broken. He’s the fixer! That’s what healing really means. It’s time withdraw from the fullness of this bank account and stop pulling out pennies.
Jehovah Fix It! LOL
Jesus, I want to be made whole.
He’s the wholeness specialist. Not just for an individual, but for families, communities and for nations.
Now generally when this verse is studied we stop at verse 26 after we learn the name of God. However, verse 27 has major significance because it tells us what happens after the healing occurs….
27 Then they came to Elim, where there were twelve springs and seventy palm trees, and they camped there near the water.”
First, Elim means place of strong trees. Trees generally represent people in dreams or sometimes nations. They are strong trees means that the broken ness is now gone. Buh bye broken ness!
After the healing takes place, say AFTER, they get to the place of 12 springs. Not 1, not 2, but 12.
12 – governmental level, establishment, divine order.
They don’t get just one pool to drink from but 12! Multiplication. It doesn’t stop there but then they come to 70 palm trees!
70 – 7 is the number of perfection/completion multiplied by 10 which is another number for completion and the law. Authority. It is a higher level of order. 70 is the number of elders that Moses selected. This is the next level authority, say next level!! It’s the increase. (Revelation 2:26-28) You see the minute you overcome in any area of your life and you defeat that broken ness, you have authority over it!!! This is why God said to them none of the disease on the Egytian will come upon you. They were given authority over that!
If that wasn’t good enough…..PALM TREES!!!
Palm Trees – Blessings, Prosperity, Wealth! If you ever dream of Palm Trees, that is what it means.
Royal Palms, do you know the cost of a full-grown royal palm? $100,000 – $150,000 each. This is why when you see photos of Beverly Hills and other ritzy places they are always showing you the palm tree lined driveway. Because the driveway alone is worth millions of dollars.
Now, God made it a point to say they settled by 12 springs and 70 palm trees because this is significant.
This is what we step into when we become FULLY healed. Broken people cannot move forward, they are stuck. This is why the enemy likes to keep people in a place of broken ness. There’s no increase in broken ness. The Lord may have found you broken but it is not His intention to keep you there!!!
He wants to heal you from your mental trauma so you can finally inherit your 12 springs and 70 palm trees!
As far as I can see, we all need this word. Tap into Jehovah Rapha this month and ask for your healing.
Tribe for this month is Issachar (Genesis 49:14-15)
“Issachar is a strong donkey,
lying down between the saddlebags.
15 When he sees that his resting place is good
and that the land is pleasant,
he will bend his back to the burden
and will become a slave laborer.”
This is so insightful. Donkeys carry burdens, they are hardworking and they never complain because of the work they have to do. This scriptures talk about the humility of this tribe, that they work hard but at the same time they understand when to rest, and when it is time to work – to serve.
They are the tribe that were used in war time (Judges 5:15) because they understood that there is a time and season for everything under the sun, even for war (1 Chronicles 12:32). Therefore, they were flexible to adjust to changing of the seasons.
The name Issachar means “his reward will come”. Reward for what? The labor, the work. For properly discerning the seasons.
The tribe of Issachar were known as the scholars and laborers. They worked with Zebulun which is the tribe for business and trade.
Here is Moses’ blessing on Issachar and notice that he ties them to the tribe of Zebulun
About the tribe of Zebulun he said,
“People of Zebulun, enjoy yourselves when you go to war,
and you people of Issachar, enjoy yourselves when you stay at home.
19 They will invite nations to their mountain,
and there they will offer the proper sacrifices.
They will be nourished by the abundance from the seas
and the treasures hidden in the sand.”
This is a very curious blessing. Zebulun goes to war while Issachar rests in his house. Makes Issachar sound lazy doesn’t it? But we know he is the donkey who carries the burden so what exactly is this. I believe it has to do with the roles.
Picture Zebulun as the banker who goes out to work in the marketplace and Issachar as the pastor that stays home and studies the Word, prays and ministers on a Sunday. Is the pastor lazy? No. They are both important for the community. They just have a different role.
In Exodus 17, when Joshua was fighting the Amalekites while Moses was standing on the mountain holding his hands up interceding for the battle. Which one of them was doing the fighting? Both. One was fighting a physical battle while the other a spiritual one. They just have different roles.
We are all a part of the same body but each of us has a different role “If the whole body were the eye, how would we hear?” (1 Corinthians 12:17)
So in verse 19, when you see them both becoming wealthy because of trading on the seas (Sea of Galilee) and finding treasures in hidden places that is because they work each other. You see while Zebulun may be an outstanding businessman, if he messes up on the timing he gets nothing. If he plants the corn in the wrong season he doesn’t have a crop. He needs someone to tell him when and where. The times and the season. So to the outsider if they saw Zebulun sharing his riches with Issachar they would think “why are you doing that? You did all the work while he stayed home!!” Not understanding that if Issachar didn’t tell him where to find the treasures in the sand and what month to look for it, he never would’ve found it.
It says they will invite nations to their mountain, this is the mountain of God. So whether you are the banker or the pastor our job is the same we are to invite others to the mountain of God.
When you read 1 Chronicles 12:23-37, you will see how many from each tribe went to fight with David and you notice that the tribe that sent the least amount was Issachar. And it wasn’t because they had the smallest number in their tribe to begin with. I believe you just don’t need that many of them to win a battle. I believe they probably stood on the sidelines and gave the strategy, the game plan. Because we have to fight smart, not hard.
You don’t need more, you just need to make the right moves with the little that you have.
We have to hear God, and move when He says move, stop when He says stop. Applying the right word in the right season.
I know I said a mouthful here and you can tackle this prayer from many angles. What I want you to do is take some time with the Lord and soak in what you read. Ask Him to give you a revelation on the healing you need in your life and ask Him to give you the understanding for your individual time and season. From that you will be able to formulate your own prayer. Here’s a general one…
