Prophetic Word – It’s a Test!
This prophetic word is titled It’s a Test. I believe there are many going through a test right now and may be confusing it with spiritual warfare or even being tempted.
Who is this word for? People who believe they may be in a test. This will help you to carefully identify it and give you some tips on how to pass it.
I’m sure if you are in school right now or you went to school at any point in your life you already know that you can’t get to the next grade level until you pass a test. This isn’t optional it is a requirement.
It is the same in the Kingdom of God and the spiritual realm. You can’t progress to your next level until you pass the test. Tests are not optional they are mandatory. The test are there to:
a. Ensure that you know what you are doing
b. Show that you are ready to handle what God will be giving you next
c. Reveal what you truly believe about yourself and God.
They are not fun, but all of us have to go through them. In this word, God has asked me to layout to you what the test looks like so that you can easily identify it.
Knowing the difference between a Test and Temptation.
God will never tempt you. Temptation has to do with sin and God will never put you in a position to sin. That is the devil appealing to your desires. What can happen is that while you are going through the test the devil will show up to tempt you because he doesn’t want you to pass the test.
(James 1:13-15 NKJV)
“Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.”
And God has already said that regardless of how strong the temptation may be to sin, there is always a way out so you should never feel like you are trapped when you are being tempted.
(1 Corinthians 10:13 NKJV)
“ No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”
Tests reveal if you are ready for the next level.
You know, all of us can talk the talk but can we walk the walk? When the “rubber meets the road” what we do is what matters.
There is no way for you to know if you truly believe the bible or what God told you unless it is tested. That means none of us gets to sit on the sidelines. At some point we all get put in the game to see how we perform. Therefore, you will be tested.
Once you pass the test you go to the next level. You go through a period of training and equipping at that level and then you get another test before you go to the next level. The greater your spiritual authority in the Kingdom of God the harder the tests because there is a lot at stake. I believe at the lower levels of testing it is OK to get by with barely passing the test. So, a C- is fine. You passed and you’re good to go.
What does a C grade look like? God had to bring that test 8 times before you finally realized it was a test, then you passed it. Or you did it, but this is after hesitating for months before you passed it. In other words, you knew it was a test, but you backed up instead of moving forward. Your knees were going clack clack clack clack clack, LOL You know what I’m talking about! Have you been there? Being afraid is not the sin. It’s what you do as a result of the fear that may cause you to sin.
When you backed up that had to do with fear…doubt…unbelief. So depending on your level of spiritual authority God has to remove that from you. He can’t afford for that to be present when He takes you into that massive promise you are waiting on.
The testing really has to do with your faith. Faith in what God said. Some things you’ve asked the Lord for you won’t be able to walk in it if your faith is shaky. It requires a higher grade level. C is not going to cut it! You need to make the Honor Roll. So, God will bring back a test that feels just like the last one (different scenario, same test) to make sure you will not hesitate when He tells you to move forward.
Yes, there are levels to testing and this depends on the level where you are and what God has in store for you next.
Different metals melt a different temperature. The higher you go in the Lord, the hotter the fire because He is purifying us and removing the impurities so that we will become like Him. We will become a reflection of Christ in the earth.
Bronze melts at 1675 F
Silver melts at 1763 F
Gold melts at 1948 F
“And I will bring the third part through the fire,
Refine them as silver is refined,
And test them as gold is tested.
They will call on My name,
And I will answer them;
I will say, ‘They are My people,’
And they will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’”
Daniel had a governmental anointing. He was in charge of a territory. Along with Shadrach, Meshach and Abed Nego they all needed to go through their own tests. That’s why they had the fiery furnace and the lion’s den. It’s a test. But in the middle of the test, they were communing with God.
“He will sit as a smelter and purifier of silver, and He will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, so that they may present to the Lord offerings in righteousness.”
Some of you won’t be able to step into the level of authority God has for you until you learn how to control your own fiery temper and your tongue. You won’t be able to tell the mountain to go cast itself into the sea if with the same mouth you are destroying others.
(James 3:10 The Message)
“This is scary: You can tame a tiger, but you can’t tame a tongue—it’s never been done. The tongue runs wild, a wanton killer. With our tongues we bless God our Father; with the same tongues we curse the very men and women he made in his image. Curses and blessings out of the same mouth! My friends, this can’t go on. A spring doesn’t gush fresh water one day and brackish the next, does it? Apple trees don’t bear strawberries, do they? Raspberry bushes don’t bear apples, do they? You’re not going to dip into a polluted mud hole and get a cup of clear, cool water, are you?”
God will put you in a situation where you are surrounded by people that will just constantly put you in a position to cuss them out. The most annoying people you ever met. When all the binding and loosing doesn’t work. When all the blood coverage doesn’t stop them. When all the prayers for them to change comes to nothing. Perhaps it is time for you to consider that God is not into changing them the one He is interested in changing is you. Your mouth. When you realize the whole thing is a test, and you stop that behavior, then they will stop.
Most of the time people see this as spiritual warfare when sometimes it’s a test from God. Especially if you have the anointing of prophecy. God has to clean up your speech.
Just watch, the minute you respond differently, they will start acting differently.
Let me say this, every one of us has failed a test at one point or another. Based on our choices or sometimes we don’t even realize it is a test. We often mislabel tests as spiritual warfare because it is uncomfortable and disrupts our environment.
How to pass the Test.
The test always requires an action. Always. It is the action that you take that determines if you passed or your failed. What will you do? Generally, the action is connected to What did God say?
You pass the test by keeping your eyes focused on what God said. This is why you need your own personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This is the only way you are going to know what God is saying about your particular situation.
I’m going to give you a personal example.
Years ago the Lord told me to do something. I knew that this was my next move and was ready to do it because God said it. I stepped out in faith when the perfect opportunity came along and signed a contract to do what He told me to do. It involved a lot of money. After I handed the other party the check, the same day I got home I was laid off from my job. The same day. I wasn’t scheduled to take possession of it for anther 2 months at which time I needed to come up with more money. I was in shock. How could this happen to me? I panicked! My “heady reaction” kicked in and I started reasoning my way out of the situation. I decided that the best decision was to call, cancel the deal and get my money back. I would wait until the circumstances were favorable to move forward. I just thought it was the devil playing tricks and I needed to get into prayer and fasting, secure another job and then I could move forward with what the Lord told me. When I called the assistant of the owner, she told me it’s ok they’ll give me my money back and that she already had 7 people lined up who want it, so she’ll give it to one of them. Honestly, I felt like a dodged a bullet because this was going to be a financial burden. It was the wise decision. I breathe a sigh of relief and I thought that was it.
Nope. That is what you call fear, doubt and unbelief. Looking back at it I didn’t even ask God if I should cancel, I just did it. Sometimes what looks like right decision is not. Even if it makes sense or sounds like the “sensible” thing to do. The problem is that it went against what God told me to do. What did God say? That night when I went to bed, I couldn’t sleep. How is it that I can feel like I made the right decision but then at the same time I’m having a sleepless night over this. That was my first clue that this was not the right decision. I had no peace over my decision. I went from being happy I canceled it to regretting the decision I made. I had to step back and analyze it.
Here’s what happened, pay attention because this may help some of you….
1. I had just come out of a season of warfare that lasted approximately 4.5 years and I was accustomed to things falling apart at the last minute therefore I was expecting this to fall apart too. Traumatized by the past. Trauma has a voice and it speaks too.
2. God had already ended my season of warfare in the realm of the spirit but this one move/action on my part was what was required for it to be complete in the earth realm. I needed to take this action to put my stake in the ground and declare Tetelestai! It’s like God opened the prison door and I was afraid to walk out of it. Geez! I didn’t even know this was a thing until I lived it. When the prison doors open YOU have to walk out. You have to be brave. It takes courage to pick up you mat and walk. You have to put one foot in front of the other and walk out. Nobody shows up to carry you out. You have to be brave because you’ve tried that door many times and you know for a fact that it wasn’t open. And, sometimes you’ve been in a place so long that you don’t even realize that the season changed. So you sit there in the prison with the doors wide open crying out to God for Him to help you as He responds, the door is open. God help me! The door is open. God come and help me!! I said the door is open, just walk out. Have you been there?
3. The deal seemed too good to be true. I was stepping into my next level and because I had never walked in that before I was questioning whether or not I was ready. The jump seemed super high. Did I even deserve that? I am not an insecure person but let me tell you there are some places God will take you and you will feel like you are out of your league. It’s like Esther spending her life as an orphan then becoming the queen only to realize they are about to kill her! LOL Too good to be true! There had to be some plot twist, LOL I’m kidding but seriously you start to question the blessing when it is just mind blowing. I was just in shock I was getting that blessing after years of warfare, so I was doubtful. I was due for my upgrade but when the upgrade came, there I was questioning it.
4, You need no faith if you can do it yourself. Without faith it is impossible to please God. God needed to remove my plan B. I have a career, I have the money, I can do it. No faith required. God removed my ability to do it by myself thereby thrusting me into a situation where I needed to completely trust His ability to do what He told me He would do. He was testing my faith.
5. I completely misdiagnosed the situation. I thought it was another spiritual attack when it was not. It was God who remove the job because He was making sure that I fully trusted in Him not in my own ability to save myself. When Jesus told the disciples to get in the boat and go to the other side that He would meet them there that is what He meant. Even if the waves came, for them to question whether or not they would come out alive showed their faith was shaky. What did God say? That’s why He said to Peter, step out on the water. He needs to see that you believe Him.
Over the next 2 weeks, I started to roll everything over in my mind again. That’s when I came up with these 4 points and I realized that my decision was not from God. I started to look at this from God’s perspective. He told me to do something, and I stepped out and did it. He had to know that I was going to lose my job as soon as I signed that contract. Therefore, this is not catching God by surprise and shouldn’t cause me to waver on what He told me either. It just means that God has another way of making this happen and it doesn’t involve my job. God didn’t change. God is my source. He just changed the channel through which He would do it. That’s all.
At that moment, I knew this was a test and I knew that backing up on the contract was not the right decision. I felt like I failed the test. I thought perhaps, He’ll still have that waiting for me. Then I thought, the assistant told me there were 7 others waiting so I am sure the owner went with someone else. I decided to call her. And, what do you know? It was still available. She told me that the owner said she believed I was the one to get it, not these other people. The woman isn’t even a Christian. She just favored me and wanted me to have that!
Let me tell you this, when God has ordained something for you and that thing is written in the scrolls in heaven…nobody else can take that from you. That thing has your fingerprint on it so only your thumbprint can unlock it. It has your face ID on it so no one else can show up and claim it.
Absolutely no one can steal your God ordained blessing. Breathe. Relax.
That moment changed everything for me. So did I pass the test? Yes, but that was no Honor Roll grade. It took me awhile to figure it out. I backed up, remember?
Sure enough 1.5 years later here comes the same test again, different scenario. I remember staring at the situation thinking to myself how is this happening? God said this would happen but instead I am seeing this? And in the pit of my stomach I had that familiar feeling that I did in the last test. That’s how I identified it. In my mind I started going through a checklist.
The same feeling inside as the last test…check
It is in direct opposition of what God told me…check
The need to put cheese in my ears to drown out the sound of my knees (fear, doubt, unbelief)- clack clack clack, LOL….check
There’s a deadline when I have to make the decision…check
Other “sensible” options that will make this all go away…check
Immediately I knew what was happening. This was about my faith, AGAIN! Did I actually believe what God said? I said “oh no! I are not doing this again”. I stood up and declared with my mouth “Lord, I know what you said and I am not backing up. I refuse to back up. There’s no plan B. I’m standing in my position until you come through for me. I refuse to “help myself” out of this!”
I had to stand and stand and stand watching the days go by as the deadline drew closer but fully well knowing God was going to come through. The truth is that I wasn’t even stressed about it because I identified it as a test and passed it after mentally processing what was happening after a day. And, sure enough the minute I responded with faith that it was all going to work out things turned around within hours. You can’t fake faith. They know in the realm of the spirit if this is real or not.
Your tests generally have to do with your faith. You need to have faith in what God told you – written word (bible) or spoken word (rhema). What did God say?
I heard Chuck Pierce say something like this “your action of faith opens the door to favor” and this is so true because it is like something happens in the realm of the spirit. Your action unlocks a door to favor. There is action involved with faith. You have to do something that shows that you have faith.
Remember now, you have an audience that is watching you – the cloud of witnesses, the angels and the demons. When God pulls you off the bench and puts you in the game this audience is watching to see your response, if you actually believe.
(Philippians 1:27b-28 AMP)
“I will hear about you that you are standing firm in one spirit [and one purpose], with one mind striving side by side [as if in combat] for the faith of the gospel. And in no way be alarmed or intimidated [in anything] by your opponents, for such [constancy and fearlessness on your part] is a [clear] sign [a proof and a seal] for them of [their impending] destruction, but [a clear sign] for you of deliverance and salvation, and that too, from God.”
The minute you stand and pass the test with faith, the angels get released to deliver to you whatever it is that you need. Immediately because they fly fast!
Matthew 4:1-11, Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit in a test into the wilderness. There the enemy came and tempted him to sin. He had to go through this before He stepped into His ministry, His next level.
After Jesus successfully passed the test, the angels came to minister to him.
Those angels don’t show up before. No, you have to walk through that test by yourself. Because remember this is to see if you believe what God said to you. Immediately following the test, the angels show up and deliver exactly what you need.
The passing grade moves you out of the situation and immediately into the new level.
You don’t keep getting tested once you’ve passed. It’s over. You won.
The passing grade resolves the problem.
1. Temptations are always pointing you towards sin, this is never God. If you fall for the temptation, you automatically failed the test. The test will come back around through a different scenario.
2. The test will directly challenge what God has spoken to you. You have to respond with an action that shows that you believed the word of the Lord. That is the only way to pass it.
3. The minute you respond with the correct action, the test is over. You graduate to your next level.
4. If you’ve prayed about something multiple times and it is still there perhaps it is a test and God is requiring a different response/action from you.
5. Fear is a normal human response. The fear itself won’t cause you to fail a test. It is what you do as a result of it that matters.
6. Tests are generally connected to Faith. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. This word of God is found in the bible or what He said to you personally through spoken word (prophetic words), dreams or visions. What did God say? As long as you believe God and respond in faith to what He said, you will pass the test.
I pray this helped you and that you will make the right decisions when the tests come.
