Father God in heaven, please place a protective hedge around “Sam” and the children. Give her family wisdom for how to proceed. Lead them to report abusive behavior where it’s appropriates, especially if the mother and children face danger. Have Sam read through the Missionaries of Prayer section about breaking unhealthy soul ties; and ask the Lord to help her heal from this relationship. Pray Psalm 91 over the family, and take practical steps to stay safe. Here is a part of another Psalm (69:16-18a) I will pray over you: “Answer me, O Lord, out of the goodness of your love; in your great mercy turn to me. Do not hide your face from your servants; answer me quickly for I am in trouble.
