My husband had a dream last night that he was at a pool and had a niece and nephew with him. Both kids were very young – the girl was 4 and the boy younger. The 4 year old knew how to swim and had on a life jacket, but the boy was just learning how to swim and didn’t want to wear a life jacket. They had a great day. Then, when it was closing time at the pool and they were ready to head home, the pool turned into a wide river that had a current and was pulling him along.
My husband was floating down the river with lots of other people who had been at the pool and he had one of the kids in each arm. He was kicking to keep all of them above the water. He was getting tired and realized that the boy’s head was under water. He pulled him up and the boy was lifeless. My husband panicked at first and then gave him mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and the boy choked up water and started breathing again.
At this point, he realized that the reason there was a current in the river was because there was a waterfall up ahead. The river was very wide and he knew he needed to get to the bank. The kids were getting tired and cold and had wrapped their legs around his legs, so it was very difficult for him even stay above water, much less get to the river bank and get out of the water.
This is when he woke up.
