Prophetic Word – Pity Party for one

prophetic word pity party for one

This prophetic word is titled Pity Party for one. For those of you who don’t know what a pity party is, this is you sitting around crying about how bad your life is going, feeling alone like no one else has it as bad as you do. That’a why there’s only one person at that party, you.

Who is this word for?  Everyone because at some point in your walk you will find yourself in this position.  The key is for you not to stay there but to leave that place swiftly

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I believe the one who plants that first thought to throw you into the pit mentally is the devil.  It is this self pity mode where you feel like everyone else in the world is fine and all the bad things are only happening to you.
You’re alone.
No one else has it as bad as you.
Nothing is working out for you.
You’re going to die alone and they’ll find you with cats nibbling at your toes.
You start to question is God even loves you because nothing is working out.
Know this, these thoughts didn’t just pop up in your head, no.  The first one was planted there by the enemy and you just held on to it and meditated on it for a little bit too long.
The thing that you focus on the most always gets bigger.  So the more time you spend meditating on what’s going wrong in your life is the worse your life will appear to you.  The key then is to get your mind out of that place as soon as possible.
Philippians 4:8
Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart].
Now obviously what is happening to you is real so what needs to change is your perspective on it.
I’ve found that when I’m at the very beginning of falling into this that I need to do something to make sure I don’t fall down that rabbit hole further.  Recognize when you are not in a good place and refocus your mind quickly!
The problem here is that you are spending too much time thinking about YOU.
Here is what you need to do:
  1. Encourage yourself in the Lord.
1 Samuel 30:5-7
Now David’s two wives had been captured, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess and Abigail the widow of Nabal the Carmelite. Further, David was greatly distressed because the people spoke of stoning him, for all of them were embittered, each man for his sons and daughters. But David felt strengthened and encouraged in the Lord his God.
David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech’s son, “Please bring me the ephod.” So Abiathar brought him the ephod.
Back in those days, they used the ephod to find the will of God.  The equivalent of that today is to consult God’s word, the Bible.
You need to find scriptures that counter what your thoughts are telling you.
If you are thinking – God doesn’t love me, you answer that by reading,  Jeremiah 31:3
If you’re thinking – God forgot about me, you answer that by reading, Isaiah 49:15
If you’re thinking – There is no way I can get out of this, you answer that by reading, 1 Corinthians 10:13
If you’er thinking – I’m in the darkest pit right now and there is no one here with me, you answer that by reading, Psalm 139:8 NKJV
I don’t care what you are going through, THE BIBLE has an answer for it.  You need to start learning how to encourage and strengthen yourself through the word of God
2  You need to have someone that you can call to get you out of that mindset.  My child always says to me “momma, no matter how bad my day is going, every time I talk to you I always come away feeling so much better”.  You need to have someone like that in your life. AND…..AND….AND…. you need to be that person for someone else!  Don’t be the person that has to “one up” everybody!  It sounds like this “girl, I’m having such a bad day”….”you’re telling me, you should see what happened in my house yesterday blah blah blah blah”. You don’t have to say how much WORSE your life is.  That was not the purpose of the call.  They called to share with you so you can help them…so help them!  Now, if you are always the person calling to share your problems but you are never there to uplift anyone, that would explain why you have no one in your life to share with.  This works both ways, they help you, you help them.
Proverbs 17:17
A friend is always loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need.
Sometimes it’s not your own family but a brother or sister in Christ that will help you.
3. Count your blessings.  I know people wake up to go into warfare prayer.  Or they wake up just thinking about their problems to the point where they can’t even go back to sleep.  Have you ever tried just praising God for all your blessings instead?
Psalm 119:62
At midnight I rise to give you thanks for your righteous rules.
Instead of counting your problems in your head, count your blessings.  Reflect on what is going right in your life.  Did you know that gratitude attracts God’s favor and blessings?  It does!  There’s no way you can have an attitude of gratitude and be unhappy and sad.  This is just not possible.  Start praising God, even if you don’t feel like it.  This will lift you out of despair.
4. Laugh.  Nothing changes your mood like laughter.  I really believe this is why the Lord gave this to us.  It completely uplifts your spirit.  I’ve said this before, find some comedians (if you have social media accounts) and follow them.  And yes, your laughter is going to annoy the devil but that will loose you from his trap as well.
Proverbs 17:22
A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.
5. If you recorded your dreams, visions and the prophetic words that you know were meant for you, that means you have documented HOPE.  Go read them again!  By reading what the Lord told you is coming, you will be able to shift your mindset into a place of HOPE instead of despair.  Remind yourself of what the Lord said.
Psalm 27:13
I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of Yahweh in the land of the living.
If it hasn’t happened yet, that means it’s still coming!  Not after you die, no!  While you’re still hear on this earth.  That means you just need to exhibit a little patience.
6. Recognize that there are others going through a hard time too, this is not just God picking on you.  One of the greatest gift from having a prayer ministry and praying for others is recognizing that there are others who are in a much much much worse situation that I am.  It keeps me out of despair because I realize others are experiencing the same and sometime worse than what is happening with me.  Pray for others, this will help you regain perspective quickly!  There wasn’t one person in the Bible who didn’t have to wait on their promise.
Hebrews 10:32-39 The Message
32-39 Remember those early days after you first saw the light? Those were the hard times! Kicked around in public, targets of every kind of abuse—some days it was you, other days your friends. If some friends went to prison, you stuck by them. If some enemies broke in and seized your goods, you let them go with a smile, knowing they couldn’t touch your real treasure. Nothing they did bothered you, nothing set you back. So don’t throw it all away now. You were sure of yourselves then. It’s still a sure thing! But you need to stick it out, staying with God’s plan so you’ll be there for the promised completion.
It won’t be long now, he’s on the way;
    he’ll show up most any minute.
But anyone who is right with me thrives on loyal trust;
    if he cuts and runs, I won’t be very happy.
But we’re not quitters who lose out. Oh, no! We’ll stay with it and survive, trusting all the way.
7. Recognize that because you are much closer to your promise the enemy is going to attempt to plant this doubt, fear, God doesn’t love me, “I think I missed God” thoughts inside your head and most of what you’re thinking is not even true!  IT’S A LIE!!!!!!!!!!!  If you begin to reflect on the lie, you believe the lie and then you quit right at the doorway of your breakthrough.
Do you remember when Elijah ran from Jezebel and he went to hide himself in a cave because he felt all alone?
1 Kings 19:13b-14
And behold, there came a voice to him and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” 14 He said, “I have been very jealous for the Lord, the God of hosts. For the people of Israel have forsaken your covenant, thrown down your altars, and killed your prophets with the sword, and I, even I only, am left, and they seek my life, to take it away.”
The only problem is Obadiah already told him that he hid 100 prophets of the Lord away in 2 caves (1 Kings 18:13).  In the moment of his pity party for on he believes the lie and completely forgot that there are at least 100 prophets in the same boat
Remember the widow at Zarephath what she said to Elijah when he asked her for some food?
1 Kings 17:12
12 “As surely as the Lord your God lives,” she replied, “I don’t have any bread—only a handful of flour in a jar and a little olive oil in a jug. I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it—and die.”.
The reality is that was really all she had but she had no hope beyond what she could see with her eyes.  The thought never occurred to her that God could perform a miracle and she would end up with more than enough.
The devil has been doing this over and over again… so you need to be aware this is one of his tactics…leading you down the road of hopelessness and despair.  Therefore, as soon as you start to feel that back up out of that place in your MIND.  Because that’s where you are being attacked, in your mind.
8. Reflect on your past testimonies.  This is why you have to write them down.  Why do you think we share testimonies every week in our emails?  This is to help you realize that God is still doing it!!!!!!!!!  He hasn’t stopped!  No matter how bad things get, HE is always going to be answering prayers.  Testimonies help you remain hopeful.  If He can do it for others, He can do it for you.  God is no respecter of persons, that means He’s not showing favoritism to only some of His children.
Also, by writing it down you now have a record of it as well.  When you don’t write things down you tend to forget them.
Psalm 143:3-5 The Voice
My adversary has pressed in, drawn closer, threatened my life;
    he’s crushed me, driven me underground.
    He’s forced me to live in the dark;
    it’s as if I joined those who died a long time ago.
That’s why my spirit is growing faint inside me; I have nothing left;
    my heart is completely empty and desolate.
And yet I can’t forget the days of old, the days I’ve heard so much about;
    I fix my mind on all You have done;
    I ponder the work of Your hands;
If He did it before, He can do it again.  Remember your past testimonies.
Hebrews 12:4-5
In this all-out match against sin, others have suffered far worse than you, to say nothing of what Jesus went through—all that bloodshed! So don’t feel sorry for yourselves.
9. God may be waiting for you.  Make sure that you are not in this position because God is actually waiting on you.  We can think that we are waiting on the Lord…when the truth is God could be waiting on us to do the last thing He told us to do.
Is there something He told you to do that you haven’t done?  Perhaps by just taking that ONE STEP you may realize things will begin moving.
~~~~~~~~~~~

Sometimes when the Lord gives us a word, it takes time before you see the physical manifestation.  During the time of Esther, Haman got the king to send out an order to annihilate the Jews.  Even after the plot was foiled the new order didn’t go out until 2 months after…they had to wait.  And, Purim wasn’t celebrated until 1 year later.  I’m telling you this so that you understand that God may very well have told you something but there may be a period of waiting between when you received His word and when you see the fulfillment. Read Esther 8 & 9.  You need to be patient and understand that what the enemy is doing now is trying to push you into a place where you give up.  He does this by planting self defeating, self pitying thoughts in your head.  You put on the helmet of salvation, rebuke the devil and keep it moving.  If you are able to identify certain spirits, then you need to start binding and loosing to move them out of your environment.

If you just take ONE of these points above and follow through with it when you feel you are having a big ole pity party for one, I promise you….you will be lifted out of it!!

Blessings!

  1. Amen, Forgive me Lord for feeling so low but through this you have shown that you are in control. I encourage a lot of people and this forum always encourages me. May God richly bless you Nicole

  2. This came at the right time…I’ll encourage myself in the Lord, focusing on what God has already done an trusting on His Sure promises…God is always, always with me…

  3. I bind my mind to the mind of Christ! Lord put upon me the Helmet of Salvation protect my mind and I bind my mind to the mind of Christ!

    The above confession was in one of the MOP Prophetic Word reading and I have been confessing it the past days during my devotions.

  4. I absolutely love this much needed word- SO ON TIME!! As a matter of fact, I’m going thru this right now, so to see this word come thru my email, I knew it was God encouraging me!

    I find too that when I encourage others, that’s when the enemy tries to attack me and bring backlash. Training and disciplining our minds to think and speak positively is necessary. It starts in the mind/heart before manifesting in action. Forgive me father for the pity party! Forgive me for double mindedness! I believe in your word and I will stand on it until I see breakthrough!! In Jesus name! It is so!

    1. Wow!!! You LCT your reply is exactly thoughts right now. When I got the alert for this email I was literally in the middle of a conversation where someone was help me trying to one, acknowledge that I was having a pity party while still trying to encourage me to seek the Lord and STOP trusting on my own strength. Lol even funnier; the testimony of Esther was even referred to in our conversation so I know I need to go read and understand. Nevertheless, glory to God and I too repent for being double-minded in this season; confessing Him with my mouth by my heart posture was far from him. Don’t know how long it will take but I’m counting on the Lord to do it again; I remember what he did in my life before to even be in a place today to openly acknowledge Him. Thanks again.
