This prophetic word is titled Light.
I’m actually still on Genesis 1 because there is so much in that first chapter that felt like it needed more time for me. There was something beautiful that I saw that I wanted to share with all of you.
Light.
I’ve often heard it said that Jesus’s first introduction was in the Garden of Eden when He walked in the cool of the day (Genesis 3:8). Well, I’ve changed my mind about that.
I’ve now come to believe that His first introduction was right there in Genesis 1:3, in the creation story.
Genesis 1:1-5
In the beginning God (Elohim, The Trinity) created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God (The Spirit) was hovering over the waters.
3 And God (The Father) said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. (Jesus) 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.
Yeah! I believe that LIGHT is Jesus. Not that He was created in that moment but that the Son became manifest as Light in that moment. What we’ve assumed is the light came from what we know as the source of the light, the Sun. But I’m saying that this light came from The Son.
I’ve come to this conclusion because the sun was not actually created until the 4th day of creation while the light was there on the first day…
Genesis 1:16-19
16 God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. 17 God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth, 18 to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 And there was evening, and there was morning—the fourth day.
Yeah! So the sun didn’t get created until the 4th day so that The Son was the one who was giving the world light from the very beginning! Praise the Lord!
Further, it says that in heaven there is no sun or moon, because the Son is the light of heaven.
Revelation 21:23
And the city has no need of the sun nor of the moon to give light to it, for the glory (splendor, radiance) of God has illumined it, and the Lamb is its lamp and light.
Hallelujah!
So yes, He is the beginning and the end, the first and the last, the Alpha and the Omega! He was there from the very beginning and will be all the way until the end.
What is the significance of this?
I’m always going to look for the prayer strategy in everything when I read in the word. And this one is about the Light.
1. Ask for the Light so that you can see what is going on around you.
John 12:46
I have come as Light into the world, so that no one who believes in Me will remain in darkness.
If you walk into a room and it is dark, you need to turn on the light so you can see where you’re going. Does your life feel like this right now? You’re standing in a dark room and you do not know which way to go? Ask for the Light. The Light illuminates and shows what is in the darkness. Have you ever asked the Lord to show you someone in the spirit? You should. You would step away from some of the battles you’re fighting if you understood what was really happening there.
This can happen both ways too, someone can appear to be dangerous and the Lord will show you that they are not. While some who look sweet and innocent are wolves.
2. Ask for complete convergence with the Light, to be one with Him.
1 John 1:7
7 But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
We have a choice to walk in the Light, do you see that? This is the convergence of you with Christ. Being one with Him. When we do that we will have unity with each other when all of us as believers are one with Him. When you are one with the Light, your walk (how you go about the things that you do) will be one of purity because He will cleanse you as you are one with Him.
3. Ask for the Light to lead you into the ministry you will have in this earth.
Isaiah 42:6-7
“I, the Lord, have called you in righteousness;
I will take hold of your hand.
I will keep you and will make you
to be a covenant for the people
and a light for the Gentiles,
7 to open eyes that are blind,
to free captives from prison
and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness.
As you begin to walk in the purity of His light, He will then lead you to the people you should be ministering to. I love how it says HE is going to take hold of your hand and HE is going to keep you, HE is the one that will lead you to the ministry that He has for you. Now I know this scripture was talking about the Messiah, but we are the hands and feet of Jesus left to continue His work in the earth and these things we are to continue doing. He still needs us to point the people to Him. He still needs us to spread the Gospel so that the blind eyes can be opened and people set free from captivity, He still needs us to release those who are sitting in darkness. So yes, this word is for us too!
4. Ask Him to restore you if you have messed up. You know, we may sin at times and this is when we need to repent and ask the Lord to restore us.
Micah 7:8-9
Do not rejoice over me, my enemy;
When I fall, I will arise;
When I sit in darkness,
The Lord will be a light to me.
9 I will bear the indignation of the Lord,
Because I have sinned against Him,
Until He pleads my case
And executes justice for me.
He will bring me forth to the light;
I will see His righteousness.
After repentance comes restoration and God will illuminate your path to show you a way out of the spiritual warfare. Because sometimes it is your sin that caused you to be in warfare, so repentance frees you from that.
5. Ask for the abundance that comes with His light.
Psalm 36:7-9
How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God!
Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings.
8 They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house,
And You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures.
9 For with You is the fountain of life;
In Your light we see light.
In Your light we see light! How beautiful is that? When we are in convergence with His Light all we will see is light, not darkness… just goodness, God’s abundance, His blessings, a fullness of joy, peace, harmony…LIGHT!
It’s hard to understand this until you are walking in His light. That’s why the scriptures tell us that the Light came and the darkness could not comprehend it. How is it you are so happy? How come you are so calm? Why do you have such a positive outlook on life? People won’t understand why you are the way that you are when you are in complete union with the Light. When the 9th plague came and it was darkness for the Egyptians, the Israelites still had light in their homes (Exodus 10:21-23) they were not affected even though the darkness was all around them.
6. Ask for all areas of your life that are misaligned to be aligned by His light.
Isaiah 5:20
Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness;
Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
Doesn’t this sound like a confused person? This is not the time for us to be aligned with darkness. Read the Bible and whatever it says is darkness, is darkness. It is not what society says but what God’s word says. This is the truth!
7. Ask for your thoughts to be illuminated so that you can navigate the world we are living in now.
Job 29:3
When His lamp shone upon my head,
And when by His light I walked through darkness;
We are in the end times; therefore, you need to learn how to navigate as a Christian. The times will get dark and darker still but the Lord can shine His light upon you, upon your head, upon your thoughts, so that you can see and think clearly where you should be, what you should be doing and how to get to your next season, place, destination. I also see this as the lamp shining on the head meaning leadership so pray for the leaders – in the world, in your country, in the church, in your family. Criticism has no fruit, it is just criticism. You’re better off praying to see the change you desire.
8. Worship, praise and pray to usher in the Light and to keep your light burning bright.
Leviticus 24:2
2 “Command the children of Israel that they bring to you pure oil of pressed olives for the light, to make the lamps burn continually.
Oh My Goodness!! I love it!!! Think of this as a metaphor. You get the Light with the oil. Pure oil. You want the Light within you to burn continually. Staying consistently on fire for the Lord. Like the wise and foolish virgins you need to keep your lamp burning so that your light never goes out! So you are always ready for the return of the Bridegroom King. May the fire on my altar never go out, make me a house of prayer. You maintain your pure oil with worship, prayer, praise and reading the Bible.
9. Read Your Bible because it holds all the instructions you need and answers to life’s questions.
Psalm 119:105
Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path.
Jesus is the Word. The Word is the lamp.
10. Ask for the Light so that fear will flee and deliverance will come.
Psalm 27:1
The Lord is my light and my salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
Desire to have your face shine like Moses’ from being in the presence of the Lord. There’s no way you can be in the presence of the Light and not be changed. (Exodus 34:29-35) People will see it! When His light comes, fear flees. You will no longer be afraid.
I pray this gave you some good prayer points that you can use asking for the Light. And remember in the end…
Revelation 22:5
5 There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.
Blessings!
