This post is a prophetic word on Becoming Wealthy and a teaching on how to encounter God.
Who is this word for? Everyone.
I’m sure some of you have wondered how to encounter God. Especially if this has never happened to you before.
There are 4 points to consider if you want to have an encounter with the Lord and I’m talking about not only at your home but when you go to church on a Sunday or a conference.
First, I want to start by giving you a snippet of a story which I believe I’ve shared before but I’ll quickly share again for the purpose of this teaching.
I was invited to a ladies tea, these are all Christian ladies and the Lord told me to go there so I knew that He would show up.
- EXPECTATION
If you’re going to a concert, you are expecting to see the person on the flyer. Why else would you go? You want what was advertised! When you go to church on a Sunday, who are you expecting to see? When you join us for a Waiting on the Lord session, who are you expecting to encounter?
The problem is that sometime we don’t go to church to encounter God, we have other reasons for being there. Ask God to search your heart on this one and reveal to you why you go to church on a Sunday and why you show up for any prayer meeting or attend any conferences. Why did you go there?
I hear people say they don’t go to certain types of church because they are not “spirit filled”. While I understand what they are saying, the fact is that the building is no longer the place that has the Holy Spirit, this is not the Old Testament and the ark of the covenant is no longer in the building. YOU are the temple of the Holy Spirit, that means even if the “building” is not spirit filled the minute you showed up everything should change (1 Corinthians 6:19). HE lives in you, not in a building. And even if the pastor and his team prayed and the presence of the Lord is heavy in that place, it was a spirit filled Christian that did that, this means YOU can do the same thing. You are a nested being, remember? The Father, Son and Holy Spirit is within you. So even if you don’t “feel” the presence of God heavy in that place, the minute you begin to engage with the Trinity, everything changes. It’s your engagement that makes the difference.
If you expect to encounter Jesus, you will.
Back to the story of the ladies tea, I told them before I opened up the event with prayer that God was going to show up. God did show up. He was in the room and I got what He wanted to give me in that room but I realized that even though I knew He was there, only one other person picked that up. So in a room of about 30, only 2 people knew He was there.
This really broke my heart because I knew they had needs, there were things they desired, but they left empty handed because they didn’t discern that Jesus Himself was in the room.
How is it possible that Jesus was there and these women couldn’t see that? Well, it could be many reasons but mostly because they were expecting Earl Grey instead of Jesus Christ and this was someone’s living room and not a “spirit filled” church. Sometimes you can locationally block Jesus. It’s not a church so why would He be there?
When I got home I cried for them because I thought to myself, how is it that this happened? I wondered if there was something else I could’ve done to bring them into the realization that He was there.
When I brought it to the Lord, He told me that there was nothing I could do about that because even when He was here in the flesh, they did the same thing to Him.
Mark 6:1-6
Jesus left that part of the country and returned with his disciples to Nazareth, his hometown. 2 The next Sabbath he began teaching in the synagogue, and many who heard him were amazed. They asked, “Where did he get all this wisdom and the power to perform such miracles?” 3 Then they scoffed, “He’s just a carpenter, the son of Mary and the brother of James, Joseph,Judas, and Simon. And his sisters live right here among us.” They were deeply offended and refused to believe in him.
4 Then Jesus told them, “A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own hometown and among his relatives and his own family.” 5 And because of their unbelief, he couldn’t do any miracles among them except to place his hands on a few sick people and heal them. 6 And he was amazed at their unbelief.
Brings me to the next point
2. UNABLE TO RECOGNIZE HIM
I am sure if Jesus was telling them that He was there to build them a table they would receive Him…because He’s a carpenter.
They were only able to recognize Him if He showed up as they had pictured Him and working in the carpenter shop. Outside of the parameters they placed on Him, they are not able to see Him.
And, notice it says it was His own family and relatives that weren’t able to receive Him. Well, who was at the tea? His own family. The believers.
You would be surprised the parameters we put on how Jesus can show up in our lives, where He shows up, how He shows up, who He shows up for. And the group likely to not recognize Him are the “church folks”. Because whether you realize it or not, we all have a picture of Him in our head and if He doesn’t show up exactly like that, all bets are off. It can’t be Him.
We need the anointed singers – the worship team, we have to have the smoke machine and anointed Master Prophet Pastor Bishop Doctor has to be there or else, it can’t be Jesus. The priest must come to bless it or Jesus won’t be there.
I don’t ever put a description on the Lord when I tell you about Him on purpose! Because I’m sure if I did, I would lose some of you because you’ve already made up your mind what He looks like, and if may description doesn’t match yours then you won’t believe I saw Him.
Why else do you think the Jews don’t believe the Messiah already came? He’s a conquering KING. That means, gleaming white robe and the finest of garments, wearing a crown, riding on a chariot of Gold, wielding a golden sword, with lily white horses, living in a palatial mansion. Instead what did they get? Born in a manger with animals, a carpenter, riding on a donkey with people waving palm prawns, lowly and meek, imprisoned and beaten, then crucified..
The picture of what they have created in their minds didn’t add up to how He actually showed up.
You have already made up your mind, whether you realize it or not, what He looks like. Even if you’ve never verbalized it. And, I’m not telling you to change that, I’m just saying if you pigeon hole yourself into that picture, He could show up in another form and you won’t recognize Him. Remember, HE’S GOD!!! He can change His appearance!
Think about the story of Jesus walking on the water to the disciples.
Matthew 14:25-28
25 About three o’clock in the morning Jesus came toward them, walking on the water. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the water, they were terrified. In their fear, they cried out, “It’s a ghost!”
27 But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage. I am here!”
28 Then Peter called to him, “Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.”
It’s interesting that they couldn’t recognize Him and even after they asked Him and He told them, they were still questioning if it’s true. Up until that point, they only knew Him working miracles on dry land so the fact that He could walk on the water was out of the question in their minds. Then again, I wonder what He looked like why they couldn’t recognize Him. I’m wondering if He was translucent and they could see through Him which is why they thought it was a ghost.
Here’s another. When the two followers of Jesus met Him on the road after His resurrection and they didn’t recognize Him
Luke 24:13-35 is the entire story but I’ll share a bit below…
13 That same day two of Jesus’ followers were walking to the village of Emmaus, seven miles from Jerusalem. 14 As they walked along they were talking about everything that had happened. 15 As they talked and discussed these things, Jesus himself suddenly came and began walking with them. 16 But God kept them from recognizing him.
3. YOU HAVE TO PUT YOUR IDOL TO THE SIDE
In order for you to encounter Jesus, you have to put your idol to the side. I know some of you right now are thinking “I don’t have any idols”. That’s great!
An idol, is anything you put above Christ. Your job (or the lack of one), your children (or the lack of one), your spouse (or the lack of one), your house (or the lack of one). Anything that is consuming your time or takes up more space in your mind than the Lord. Even sickness can be an idol. Anything or anyone that you think is going to save you from your current situation, that’s not Jesus.
You can go to church and all that is on your mind is paying your rent. And for the entire church service all you are thinking is “I hope the prophet gives a word about money, I hope this prayer team prays about money, I hope the pastor gives a word about rent”. You never went to church to encounter God, you went there to encounter your idol.
If your needs and desires have completely consumed your MIND. It’s an idol.
And believe me when I tell you idols can be erected overnight. You were focusing on the Lord for months at church then one Sunday you look to your right when Pastor says greet your neighbor and there he is…Djimon Hounsou look a like….and just like that, an idol is born. Now every Sunday you go to church hoping to see him again! Your entire mind got directed elsewhere. You never cared about your appearance when you were going to church before, now you need new clothes, you’re fixing your hair. Why couldn’t you have done that for Jesus? Heck, why couldn’t you have done that for yourself?!
You were always focused on the Lord, but then you got cancer and now you can’t go to church without thinking, perhaps today is the day I get healed. Nothing else is in your mind but your healing. There’s no thought about God…unless God and healing are in the same thought. And just like that your illness becomes an idol.
I’m not saying you can’t pray about your healing. Pray about it and then let it go. You can’t let it consume your mind so that 24/7 because thinking about it that much won’t make it go away.
There has to be some time you can put aside, give God ONE hour when all you think about is Him and not your sickness. Because He could be trying to get a word to you but He can’t because He can’t get past your idol. It is speaking louder to you than Jesus.
It can happen overnight! One minute you have no idol, then the next ….whoomp there it is!
Why do you think it is the first commandment? I think it’s the one we are most prone to fall into. Guard your heart and your mind. And if we get this one right, everything else in life will fall into place.
Sometimes it can be seeing the downfall of your enemies. You can hate someone so much that they consume your thoughts. That’s an idol.
Just pray “Lord, I am dedicating this entire hour that I’m in church to you. Please let me have a singleness of mind, heart and focus on You. And if it be Your will Father let the Ryan Reynolds look a like be outside in the foyer when church is over, in Jesus name” LOL
Put it to the side, and give God His time.
In the moment when you go to sit with Him, clear your mind from anything else. Completely focus on Him. Picture that He walked into the room and He’s sitting on a chair right in front of you. Stare into His eyes and focus only on Him. If your mind wonders off, as soon as you realize it, focus in again and continue.
You have to make God your complete focus in order to encounter Him. So if it means you need to imagine Him sitting in front of you, so be it! And, He can look like whoever you think He should look like in order for you to be comfortable enough to relax and receive Him.
Matthew 26:6-11
6 Meanwhile, Jesus was in Bethany at the home of Simon, a man who had previously had leprosy. 7 While he was eating, a woman came in with a beautiful alabaster jar of expensive perfume and poured it over his head.
8 The disciples were indignant when they saw this. “What a waste!” they said. 9 “It could have been sold for a high price and the money given to the poor.”
10 But Jesus, aware of this, replied, “Why criticize this woman for doing such a good thing to me? 11 You will always have the poor among you, but you will not always have me.
The idol appeared in a split second. He was the most valuable person to them until a jar of perfume entered the room. Instantly, a price tag was placed on Him. The perfume was more valuable than Him. He wasn’t worth it to them in that moment. They said it was a waste. Wow! That cuts really deep.
If He wanted to, He could make 60 million alabaster jars of perfume appear in that moment. BUT, they forgot who He was, for a split second there. Their FOCUS was diverted to the cost of the perfume.
4. FAMILIARITY BREEDS CONTEMPT
You have to be very careful that you don’t become too familiar with Jesus…or people in general for that matter. Because you just might miss the move of God.
You’re just a carpenter. You’re Mary’s son. You’re James’ brother.
Too familiar.
You shouldn’t do this with people either. Your boss. Some of you get too chummy with people who have authority over you and in the moment when you should be showing respect, you disrespected them. That man may be your father and on the weekends you may call him dad, but in the office…His name is Mr. Jones, he’s not your dad in the office he’s your boss. You have to be sensitive to pick up on these things because some things, you can’t teach.
The same with the people who God put in your life to minister to you. Because if you bring them down on a level where you became too familiar, you could completely MISS what God was using them to do in your life.
Too familiar.
Sometimes we have to close our eyes to what a person looks like on the outside and instead, listen to the content of what they are telling you.
The familiarity doesn’t just stop at that what it does is it leads to other things just read Mark 6:1-6 so you can see all the things that come from being too familiar – dishonor, a spirit of offense comes, you become a scoffer, it leads to unbelief which then robs you of the blessing that God intended you to have. Pride rises up and you declare “who are you to tell us this?”…because you’re too familiar with the messenger.
Matthew 10:41a
He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward.
You never received the message so you don’t get the reward. The women at the tea couldn’t get what God was coming to give them because it was just some regular woman from church who told them Jesus was going to show up at the tea.
You know, it’s, umm what’s her name again? The one that sits over on the right-hand side about 5 seats away from the front, that fair skinned lady, you know who I’m talking about…? Oh yes, I know who you’re talking about. It wasn’t Master Prophet Bishop Apostle Pastor with the 50 million Facebook followers. So they leave empty handed, with no reward.
Too familiar.
But that same scripture has a part B…
Matthew 10:41b
And he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.
Wow! That means that anyone of God’s children can deliver the message to you. They don’t need to have a title. And, there’s a reward if you receive it.
You just need to have the ears to hear it. A spirit that can discern that it was GOD. Remember the men on the road to Emmaus said “did not our hearts burn within us when He was talking” That’s because even though the person they were looking at didn’t look like Jesus they knew that the words He was speaking surely did sound like Jesus.
This is the Prophetic Word – Becoming Wealthy…
I’ve also made the mistake of not recognizing the Lord and I believe it is our humanness that causes us to do this.

The Lord told me I can share this encounter with you.
Once I was in the 3rd heaven and I was in a classroom setting being taught by the Lord there were several of us sitting there. Then this Angel walks in and the face of the Angel was an open book. There were words written on the pages but I wasn’t paying attention to what was written there.
It was really strange because I just couldn’t imagine an Angel with his head being a book. He walked over and in front of each of us He placed what looked like a green brick and told us to eat it.
After we ate the green brick, I noticed that all of our faces/head were transformed into open books as well.
He then said to us, “You must keep eating it, until you look like it. When people see that you are a walking example of the Bible, you will be rich. Your wealth comes from looking like the Word“.
We then all got up to leave and this Angel with the head of a book was walking next to me, then I turned to ask Him a question and his face transformed into Jesus. At that very moment I got it.
John 1:1-2, 10-14a,
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God. 14 The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us…
The Angel was Jesus manifested as the Word.
Green Brick – Green is for growth, progress, it also denotes wealth and prosperity. Bricks are used to build (a house or a foundation, or a ministry, or a business or whatever it is you are in the process of building). Upon this rock He will build His church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
In your building, be sure that what you are building is built using the WORD of God. So then God tells you to open a chicken sandwich shop. Well, that doesn’t sound very original…But God! Then God impresses upon your heart, not to open said chicken sandwich shop on a Sunday, which is unheard of since everybody else is doing it, but you follow the WORD and do it anyway and then you become the most successful chicken sandwich shop, with less locations than your competitors, and with not opening on a Sunday…But God! And then you go against the grain and say you are against gay marriages and they tried to cancel you but instead you became even more successful….But God! Because the minute you move that business away from looking like the Word, you are out of alignment. And if you become more invested in the backlash against the business than what the Lord said, you’ve made the business an idol.
And yes, you will shake a little on the inside when you come up against the giant but as the Lord says “Be strong and courageous”. He brought you the success and He is able to make you stand.
You cannot fail when you build what God tells you to build, how God tells you to build it. You need to look like that WORD.
When you look like the Word, you will BECOME WEALTHY! That’s what He said. In other words, when you look like JESUS.
You are eat the word…
Matthew 4:4
“Man does not live by bread alone. Rather, he lives on every word that comes from the mouth of the Eternal One.”
Eat the word meaning read the word and meditate upon it…
Joshua 1:8
8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
EVERYTHING, you need to be successful in life is contained in God’s word. Therefore, you have to read it to know what to do.
EAT the Word, also meaning take communion.
John 6:54-55
54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink.
There is also power in the communion. There is a oneness that is created when you take communion. You become aware of the fact that you are a nested being. YOU are ONE with the TRINITY.
The more you eat the Word is the more you look like the Word. At which point, when people see you or they encounter you, they encounter Him.
2 Corinthians 3:2-3
2 You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men; 3 clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.
Do not be afraid to share God’s word with others, even if they don’t recognize or know you. If they know God’s Word, they will recognize HIM in your message, and this is the most important thing that they are drawn to Him and not to you.
There is no way you can fail if you’re doing this.
Blessings
This was right on time for me. Thank you!
Such a beautiful and right on time word . Thank you for being diligent and faithful in doing God’s work.
Today in church it was a very similar word and it truely confirmed and I felt every part of the word . I have some repenting to do – the idols are so subtle .
I have been running a business and it has felt heavy – now I can see that there are some parts that have not been built from the word. God help me – when I look over the past 7 months I can see how much striving I have been doing . Now I can see why .
Thank you Nicole – blessings to your ministry .

But unfortunately for me it became a word of fire 🔥 🔥 🔥 burning and convicting me at the same time. Do know am a victim of point 1-4 EXPECTATIONS, UNABLE TO RECOGNIZE HIM, HAVING IDOLS & FAMILIARITY JESUS HAVE MERCY ON ME….
Can you imagine I am the reason I don’t hear Him speak during my covenant time with JESUS st midnight, then I will be telling HIM speak now, no assignment for me today y
