Prophetic Word for January 2026

This is the prophetic word for January 2026 and it is titles…The Two Trees, And that is why you can’t know everything.

Who is this word for?  Everyone.

I’ve been reading the creation story, please read Genesis 1, 2 & 3 before you continue reading this post, and one thing stuck out to me more this time than when I’ve read this before.

The Two Trees

Genesis 2:8-9

⁸ The Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed. ⁹ And out of the ground the Lord God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Then this is what God said to the man…

Genesis 2:15-17

¹⁵ Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. ¹⁶ And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; ¹⁷ but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

 

The first thing I noticed was that Adam was not told about the Tree of Life.  Therefore, he would have been able to eat from that the Tree of Life.

And then here is what happens when the serpent enters the scene…

Genesis 3:1-7

3 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”

² And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; ³ but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’ ”

 

There were Two Trees in the midst but she only spoke about one of them.  Tells me she didn’t know the significance of the Tree of Life because they were never told about it.

 

⁴ Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. ⁵ For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

⁶ So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. ⁷ Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.

I believe the serpent went on a “fishing expedition”.  I don’t believe he knew anything about the trees.  What happened was he observed them for days, or years, who knows how long it was from the time God created them to this scene.  He noticed that they were eating from all the trees except the ones in the middle.  So he comes with the fishing question…“Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”

Because he wants to know what they were told about the trees they have been avoiding!  He’s trying to figure out what he can get them to do to fall from grace, to lose their position.

1. The devil does not know everything about your life, all he knows is what he observed and what you told him.

So how does he find out about the trees?  Eve told him. And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; ³ but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’ 

That’s how he found out.

But notice something??  She never told him about the Tree of Life, because I believe she doesn’t know about it.  And, the devil doesn’t know either.

2. And, that is why you can’t know everything!

You know, sometimes you pray and you fast and you ask God to give you all the details, and He doesn’t.  The reason for that is if you knew everything, you would mess up somewhere and the enemy would catch wind of it.

You have people you trust and you would tell them…even though God intended for you to keep it to yourself.

He gave you the information in a way so that NO ONE would know about it, but you opened your mouth and said it.  And now, you have to fight to get the very thing God told you He would do.  STOP TALKING.  Just move forward and don’t say anything to anyone.  After it is done, you can tell people.  Because as it is, you are fighting because of that very promise.  And now you’re mad because it’s not happening at the speed in which you would like when in reality it would have happened much sooner had you not said anything. Sometimes it is not even the people that you told, but now it is out there in the wind.  You told them and they told someone else!!!

Once they sinned, they became aware of sin.  I believe that is what the Tree of knowledge of good and evil represents.  Light and Darkness.  Good and Evil.  The awareness of sin because it didn’t exist before then. Once they sinned it said their eyes opened and they noticed their nakedness.  They were uncovered.  If you ever dream of yourself being naked or missing pieces of your clothing that is because you’re exposed, uncovered, you overshared.

Once sin entered the picture that’s when the problems started.  When the scripture says that God made a “helper suitable for him” (Genesis 2:18). This means counterpart.  God made his equal.  The two of them were on the same level they just had different roles.  This is how God intended it from the beginning.  However, after they fell, it says that she has pain in childbirth, he has to endure hard work to eat and her “desire” is for her husband, which means she no longer wants to be a counterpart, she wants to be in charge!  Boss La!  You know, the good ole…who run the world, girls.  Yeah, that demonic mindset took over at that moment.  And it says that the man will rule over her which means he no longer sees her as a counterpart either but now as someone for him to conquer and subjugate and have dominion over.  When the only thing he was supposed to have dominion over was the animals.

Now here is where it becomes interesting, did they drop dead at that moment since God said they would die if they ate from the tree?  No, they did not.  So what happened?  Spiritual death.  Separated from full communion with God.  Which means they had the Spirit of God and He left them when they did that.

Genesis 3:22-24

²² Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”— ²³ therefore the Lord God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken. ²⁴ So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.

Verse 22 tells me they never ate from the Tree of Life either, even though God never told them what it was.  They had no need for that tree because they were not ever supposed to know good and evil.  Only the good.  And now we see the purpose of the Tree of Life, once you eat that fruit you will live forever.

If knowledge of good and evil means spiritual death, then Tree of life means spiritual life, eternal life.  ZOE.

The real reason they were sent out is so that they wouldn’t be able to eat of the Tree of Life.

But, they don’t even know about the Tree of Life, and neither does the serpent.

Significance of the Two Trees

One Tree the knowledge of good and evil speaks of the fact that there is good and evil. Life and darkness.  Heaven and hell.

The other Tree speaks of Life.  They didn’t die in the natural because the life is really Eternal Life.

So right there in the midst of the garden was the story of the Gospel.  The Gospel was being preach through Two Trees.

One tree speaks of death and the other tree speaks of Life.  Actually Jesus was right there in the garden with them.  It says Genesis 3:8 that the LORD God was walking in the cool of the garden and the only Member of the Trinity with legs to walk is Jesus.  Actually you’ll notice that all of Genesis 1, He is referred to as God and then once the garden was created and He was moving about the garden it switches to LORD God.  And in Genesis 1, it says the Spirit of God was hovering above the water, not to be confused with the Holy Spirit. If you read the account in the Names of God version of the Bible you can see the different moments when each Member of the Trinity shows up.  Trinity and God as the Creator (Elohim), Spirit of God (Ruach Elohim, the Spirit as Creator), Jesus (Yahweh Elohim).

Why was it important that we not know about the Tree of Life?  If we knew and we made the devil aware, there is no way he would make Jesus Christ go to the cross.  He would’ve known that the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ means that we have access to eternal life and he can’t afford that.  Instead what you see in the New Testament is time and time again he was escalating the crucifixion of Jesus!  He wanted him dead not realizing that it was to our benefit that He died.

Elohim knew from the very beginning what was about to take place.  He put both trees there and only told man about one of them.  We know that they never ate from the Tree of Life because first, they didn’t need to because they were already in a perfected state at creation.  They only had need for the Tree of Life after eating from the Tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil.  They had to be sent out of the garden otherwise they would know about the redemptive plan.

God, from the foundation of the earth knew that in order for us to be connected to Him again, Jesus had to come to earth born of a virgin, conceived by the Holy Spirit, live a sinless life, die for our sins on the cross, resurrected in the 3rd day to be seated at the right hand of the Father, so that we could be reconciled once again to our original state. Complete communion with God. Once we confess of our sins and believe in our heart this fact, and confess with our mouth that Jesus is LORD and Savior of the world we are accepted once more into the family of God and can have eternal life through Him. We are not left wandering aimlessly, we are given the deposit of the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us.  If you want to pray to receive Christ as your Savior you can do that here.  If you want to recommit your life to Jesus Christ you can do that here.  If you want to pray to receive the Holy Spirit you can do that here.

There is no other way.  And, it was kept a secret until Jesus walked it out.  Even after He came to earth, He couldn’t even tell His disciples the full story, He was always talking in parables.  It was right in front of their face, but they still couldn’t see it. And, now we know.  The devil even tried the fishing expedition with Jesus through Peter, remember? (Matthew 16:21-28). He as hoping to get the full plan of why He must go to the cross but he got nothing, just parables.

It is so good to know that from the very beginning a redemptive plan was already put in place by the placing of the Two Trees in the midst of the garden and also that is why we cannot know everything!  And, I’m OK with that, are you?

This one little story tells you so much about God (1) He knows everything (2) He has a plan (3) You don’t know everything and it is for your own protection (4) No matter how messed up things look, He’s got a way to redeem it (5) The devil knows nothing about it! (6) The solution is staring you right in the face but if God doesn’t open your eyes to see it, you will never see it (7) It’s OK because you will know when He wants you to know. (8) He’s working everything out for your good.
