Prophetic Word for September 2026 – The Spirit of the Pharaoh

prophetic word for september 2026 the spirit of pharoah

This prophetic word for September 2026 is titled the Spirit of the Pharaoh.

Who is this word for?  This is something you need to know about as you may come across it at some point in your walk with the Lord.  It’s not something that happens often and only shows up when you are making major destiny moves.  It doesn’t happen that often.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Let’s address the elephant in the room, there is no bible verse that talks about the “spirit of the Pharaoh”!  But think of it this way, if someone saw your child walking down the street and they say “do you know ______, you look so much like her” then you say “Yes, that’s my mother”, that is because the resemblance is overwhelming to the point where one look at you and they know the family you belong to.
Likewise when we read the scriptures, we can see scenarios in our lives that looks exactly like the story laid out in the bible.  If this happens to you, please reread the story so that you can see how it started, how it ended, what principles you need to use to have a successful outcome.
So, when I refer to the “spirit of the pharaoh” what I am talking about is a scenario in your own life that can look like or resemble the same situation that happened between the Israelites and the Pharaoh.  That is what you will learn in this post and I will list out the characteristics in bullet point so that you can easily identify it.
Let’s start by examining how you got there…
1. There are times in life when you can be serving the Lord living in His will and then, He shows up and He tells you what He wants you to do, where He wants you to go, who you should or should not be with etc.
A place that was once your blessing can turn into a curse once the Lord has given you instructions to leave.
Liken this to the fact that the Israelites already knew the promised land was Canaan.  You learnt in the last few post that they found themselves being drawn over and over again into Egypt but they were never suppose to be there.  They already knew!  This is not a guessing game.
You also know because GOD told you. Whomever this post is for, you are not unclear about what God said on who you should be around, where you should be and what you should or should not be doing.
You already know.
2. The Pharaoh only exists in Egypt, the place God told you to leave.  Which is the reason this spirit doesn’t show up often or for everyone.  It’s only there because you’re in a place you are not supposed to be.
Remember now this could be a physical place, a mental place, an emotional place, a spiritual place, it could be people you are hanging around God told you to leave, a place He told you to leave – a job, a city, a country, a church, a ministry, some habit you were told to stop.  Something He told you to do and you haven’t done it.
3. The reason you can’t be there is that your destiny and your purpose is someplace else and until you leave that place, you cannot actually fulfill the will of God in your life.
4  You may have been in that state or place for a long time and life was good but once God tells to leave, the clock is ticking.  Your response is to step into destiny.  Do what He says.
What happens to us is that we get comfortable in Egypt.  It’s not that we are trying to be disobedient, we want to do what God has asked us to do but we may feel it is for a later time not now.  The problem is, when GOD is ready for you to leave that place, He’s ready! He is not working on our timing, we are working on HIs.
5. What was once your place of blessing is now a bondage.  Enslavement.  This happens for one of two reasons.  GOD makes sure you understand the fun and games are over.  No one wants to feel enslaved!  And, now the Lord starts to slowly remove His covering of protection over your life and the spiritual warfare and attacks begin to intensify.  It’s a slow and steady pace of attacks which no matter how much you pray and fast it never goes away.  Why?  You are not supposed to be there.  Period.  The End.
If God continued to protect you, you would stay there forever. One week turns into one year, ten years, 430 years!!!  Do you get the picture?  If He doesn’t cause you to feel the pain, you will never leave and He does this by removing His protection from the area of your life where you are now in disobedience.
It would not be happening if you were not in Egypt, in that area of your life.  The attacks will not stop they intensify until you leave. The pressure, the pain, being traumatized amps up.
6. The Pharoah doesn’t need to show up if you are enjoying Egypt because you are already in his camp doing exactly what he wants you to do!  Disobeying God’s commands.  Delayed obedience, is disobedience.  He is also not going to show up if you are enslaved by praying and fasting against junior demons assigned to torment and enslave you.  You end up fighting the symptoms instead of addressing the root problem which is, you need to leave. You are preoccupied fighting weekly battles with junior level demons to even think about moving forward in your purpose and destiny.  You’re busy, distracted and fighting warfare which at this stage in the game you are convinced you will win, because you always do!
Except this time.
When the spirit of the Pharaoh enters the picture
7. Once the realization hits you that you need to leave, obey, you start to make your way over to the promise land, heading for Canaan.  Now you will meet the spirit of the Pharoah.
This is not a person, because our war is not against flesh and blood.  It is a demonic structure designed to make sure you never get out of that place to obey the Lord.
Did you seriously think they were just going to let you get on that plane and fly out of there?  No!
This will become one of the strangest experience you will ever encounter, you know what is going on at this stage, and the devil knows that you know.  You’re trying to leave and they are making sure you don’t
The warfare intensifies.
The Goal – to keep you there.  Thereby never fulfilling God’s purpose and destiny on your life
You are stuck trying to leave and you cannot leave.  Everything you need to leave, the devil takes away so you can’t leave.
Let’s give you an example:
Let’s say God called you to start a church or a ministry.  You are 100% sure of it.  You and your spouse are in complete agreement and it’s in another city so you will need to move your family there.
You came up with the plan, after years of talking you both decided it was time.  You decide to continue working since you work from home with your job while your husband will do the ministry full-time, this way you can move to the new city, you will have money to take care of the family while your husband starts up the church.
Now you’re waiting for the kids to be on summer break before you all move to the new city. <<< we’ll call this the first mirage because summer break is just 5 months away.
It’s right there, you can see it!  Now your husband quits his job and your family starts making plans to move.  Putting the house up for sale won’t be a problem because it’s a seller’s market and everyone in your neighborhood sold their house within a week and received above the asking price.  Praise the Lord!
Summer comes, you lost your job!  Wow!  That was unexpected.  Now you are both unemployed and funny enough after 5 months there are NO offers to buy the house.  You see those demons are ok with you keeping the job IN Egypt but the minute you decided to leave, they need to make sure you are not going anywhere.
You are barred from fulfilling the call of God on your life.  This is what the spirit of Pharaoh looks like.
OK, now you are both job hunting and decide to take the house off the market because you need a place to live and you need to eat, right??  Once you get a job, working from home you can revisit this plan.  Put the kids back in school, perhaps next summer?!
And, now your mirage looks like this because it is now 1 year out.
But you’re both being obedient and you want to serve the Lord but you know the bible says “consider the cost before you start building” (Luke 14:28) and you are both responsible individuals and you need to do this thing right.
Now you are 1.5 years off schedule, possibly more because God told you to do this a while ago,  it’s been that long since you made the attempt to obey.
You get another job, you both make the same plans again.  Everything seem to be working out just fine this time.  You have the house packed in the trailer, you have an offer on it and it should be closing in 2 weeks, you’re staying at an extended stay hotel for the 2 weeks.  You have a new work from home job, you are all set!
Look how close it is!!!  In 2 weeks you guys will be driving to the other city, putting your things Into storage, you already have an apartment picked out, already have the school picked out for the kids.  2 weeks!!!  This is your 3rd mirage.
Few days later, hurricane comes through, wipes the house away and it turns out that the buyers finances fell through.  And, now we are back to this…
Now you are 2.5 years off schedule.  Your boss has turned into a nightmare and now says NO ONE can work from home so you need to report into the office.  No house, back into the office and your house in now packed in a storage container while your family lives in an extended stay hotel and figures out their next move!  Hubby thinks you should all just move anyway right now but you think he’s crazy because there is no money coming from the house instead you are about to pay even more than you were before.  You’re in a fight with the insurance company over what they will cover.  Now the two of you start arguing and fighting with each other.  And if you leave you can’t take the job with you.  THINGS JUST GOT WORSE!  You now have to worry about repairing a house, while still paying mortgage on it, and paying rent in a new city and both of you have no jobs?  No!  You can’t leave.
You may be saying why do I keep calling it a mirage because it is all real?  Well, it’s being manufactured by the PHARAOH.  You just don’t realize it yet.  Every time you agreed to the delay, you were negotiating with the spirit of the Pharaoh.
Definition of a Mirage – a real optical effect where light bends through air layers of different temperatures.  This makes a false image appear, like a pool of water on a hot road. People also use the word to mean a false hope or dream that cannot come true
It’s a mirage because it is a set of circumstances created by the Pharaoh to give you false hope.  Oh look, it’s right there!  Except it’s not!  the closer you get, is the further away you are.  AND, you don’t even realize it because the circumstances are REAL.
I’ll do it after I do this
I’ll pay this off and then I’ll do it
Let me finish this addition I’m doing on the house first and then…
Surely I can’t leave now my mom just got sick and I have to stay here to take care of her.
The situations are real but they are being created by demonic forces to keep you in the same place for years.  When you look back you realize you have made no progress.
Every time the mirage shows up you begin to reassure yourself, ok it will happen then.  But, the date comes and then something else happens. I… and before you know it your initial 5 months is now 7 years later!!! And, you’re still believing the mirage is real not realizing that you are now on the radar of the enemy and he has no intention of letting you leave that city.
You’re not going anywhere!!
THIS is when you know the Pharoah is there.
This spirit gives you false hope of an escape that never happens!  You keep agreeing and accepting these postponements instead of identifying that you are actually in a battle with a principality and a cohort of demons that is making it their business for you NEVER to get to that city.
If you and your husband get to that city, you will start a church, and give the devil hell, winning souls!  THEY cannot afford it so they need to make sure you NEVER get there!!  The problem is that when the Pharaoh has entered the scene most people don’t recognize it.
What most people end up doing is they begin to fight the symptoms instead of addressing the root problem.
Now you’re asking for prayer to find a new job, in Egypt, so you can get away from that boss.  Now you want prayer for your husband who appears to have a roving eye for some new woman that just joined the church…in Egypt.  Now you want prayer to find a new school for your children because they are being bullied…in Egypt.
You’re asking for the wrong prayer. You need to leave and God is not going to make it comfortable for you to stay.  This is why your life is falling apart.
Question:  What did the Lord tell you to do?  Did you do it?  Are you in the place where HE told you to go?  Did you separate from the people HE told you to separate from?  Have you stopped that behavior that HE told you to stop?
That is the only prayer request He will answer while you are in Egypt.  The prayer that gets you OUT, not the one the keeps you comfortable in it.  He will answer the prayer that is aligned with His will.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Now to the scriptures, the mirages can be seen as the plagues because I don’t think Moses or the Israelites thought it would take 10 plagues before they were free.

Moses thought after throwing down the staff and it turned into a snake, then a staff again, putting his hand in and out of his pocket and it went from being leprous to being whole again then turning the water from the Nile into blood as he poured it on the ground would be enough for the Pharaoh to say “oh, I believe you God told you to take them and go”. But it didn’t.

He thought he was just going to go in there one time, ask and leave.  Instead what happened is the Pharaoh enslaved them even more, he made the work even harder (Exodus 5) so they would be so busy, distracted and consumed by the hard work. The Pharaoh thought by making them miserable they would regret having said anything in the first place.

Moses turns the Nile into blood, the magicians can do the same, now what?

One week later, he brings the frogs and we get our first mirage…

Exodus 8

Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “Pray to the Lord to take the frogs away from me and my people, and I will let your people go to offer sacrifices to the Lord.”

Moses said to Pharaoh, “I leave to you the honor of setting the time for me to pray for you and your officials and your people that you and your houses may be rid of the frogs, except for those that remain in the Nile.”

10 “Tomorrow,” Pharaoh said.

Moses replied, “It will be as you say, so that you may know there is no one like the Lord our God. 11 The frogs will leave you and your houses, your officials and your people; they will remain only in the Nile.”

12 After Moses and Aaron left Pharaoh, Moses cried out to the Lord about the frogs he had brought on Pharaoh. 13 And the Lord did what Moses asked. The frogs died in the houses, in the courtyards and in the fields. 14 They were piled into heaps, and the land reeked of them. 15 But when Pharaoh saw that there was relief, he hardened his heart and would not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the Lord had said.

False hope that finally they will leave except that never happens.  It was one day away, tomorrow, the Pharaoh said… but it was not!

Looking back, the correct thing would’ve been pack everyone and go, once we are safely outside of Egypt I will pray for the Lord to remove the frogs. <<<< this.

But that is not what happened.  No, we are praying for the symptoms (the frogs) when we haven’t yet addressed the ROOT PROBLEM.,,,,they needed to LEAVE.

Stop Praying for Your Symptoms

LEAVE

As soon as that symptom gets resolved, here comes another…

24 And the Lord did this. Dense swarms of flies poured into Pharaoh’s palace and into the houses of his officials; throughout Egypt the land was ruined by the flies.

25 Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “Go, sacrifice to your God here in the land.”

26 But Moses said, “That would not be right. The sacrifices we offer the Lord our God would be detestable to the Egyptians. And if we offer sacrifices that are detestable in their eyes, will they not stone us? 27 We must take a three-day journey into the wilderness to offer sacrifices to the Lord our God, as he commands us.”

28 Pharaoh said, “I will let you go to offer sacrifices to the Lord your God in the wilderness, but you must not go very far. Now pray for me.”

29 Moses answered, “As soon as I leave you, I will pray to the Lord, and tomorrow the flies will leave Pharaoh and his officials and his people. Only let Pharaoh be sure that he does not act deceitfully again by not letting the people go to offer sacrifices to the Lord.”

30 Then Moses left Pharaoh and prayed to the Lord, 31 and the Lord did what Moses asked. The flies left Pharaoh and his officials and his people; not a fly remained. 32 But this time also Pharaoh hardened his heart and would not let the people go.

Oh my goodness…..”Pharaoh said, “Go, sacrifice to your God here in the land.”…I will let you go to offer sacrifices to the Lord your God in the wilderness, but you must not go very far”

You know what this will look like?  The Lord said open a church, ok I’ll open one in Egypt!  Here comes the counterfeit, one church just lost their pastor why don’t you go there and pastor that church?

The Pharaoh is willing to let them go worship, but you can’t go too far.  In other words, you are still not leaving and if you decided to take up the church in Egypt, you are in disobedience.

It is a counterfeit.

This is not the only time, reading Exodus 8-10, you will see that the Pharaoh keep calling them to compromise.  The women and children can go, then the men, women and children but leave the herds, the cattle.  There is a negotiation going on that is sent to make you compromise the instructions of the Lord.

You get the point, it was never going to happen until the 10th time.  Now notice how they left, they didn’t have their stuff packed up and ready to go in the morning or daytime like reasonable people.  NOPE!  Like a refugee in the middle of the night running for their lives.

How you break free from the spirit of the pharaoh

1. It is not going to be convenient!  This is the first thing you need to know.  To get out of this will be very messy.

All at once, unplanned, at an inconvenient hour!  That looks like incomplete, unplanned, it’s not going to look pretty because God will suddenly open a window for you to leave and you’ll have to leave right at that moment.

The final plague struck at midnight

Exodus 12

31 During the night Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “Up! Leave my people, you and the Israelites! Go, worship the Lord as you have requested. 32 Take your flocks and herds, as you have said, and go. And also bless me.”

In a scenario like this you will never say “let’s wait until morning” because at this point you are well aware that you are basically escaping. You see an opening you walk through the door immediately.

Prayer:  Lord, show me the way of escape so that I can fully obey You and give me the grace to obey. I’m asking that You cover me under Your Blood Jesus and that your Blood acts as a covering to shield me so that the enemy is not aware of my movements. Please put a guard over my mouth so that I do not reveal anything in my speech to the enemy, in Jesus’ name Amen.

2. It happened to be Passover, which is the sign of being covered under the blood of Jesus.  This is the type of prayer that you need to pray when you are in this season because that is what will cover you to leave.  He’s not covering you to stay, He’s covering you to LEAVE and obey because it will be difficult. (Exodus 12)

3. It is the Feast of unleavened bread.  The bread they took with them on the journey was bread without yeast.  This is a sign of not having sin, you are leaving the sin behind.  You’re leaving what drew you into Egypt and caused you to stay in the first lace. YOU need to repent for not obeying sooner and step into your destiny free from the yeast of that sin.

Exodus 12

39 With the dough the Israelites had brought from Egypt, they baked loaves of unleavened bread. The dough was without yeast because they had been driven out of Egypt and did not have time to prepare food for themselves.

A little leaven spoils the whole lump that is why the sin needs to go as you are stepping out of Egypt and into what God called you to do.

4. Take communion (Exodus 12:43-49)

5. Give your first fruit offering (Exodus 13:1-16). Of your finances and the first of your days, every morning when you wake up you seek the Lord.  Stop praying the same ole prayers, start LISTENING more, God will give you a peak at the OPEN DOOR as you give Him the first fruit of your day.  IF you are doing all the talking when you are in your prayer time and you are not waiting on the Lord in silence, how will you hear or see the door?

6. He is going to bring you in the unconventional way.  It will not make sense at first but you are going to get the information on the door.  You WILL NOT get the strategy until you leave.  No further information will be given until you are out of the place (Exodus 13:17-22).  THIS requires a great deal of trust in God.

I will tell you this, even though at this point you are worn out, terrified, intimidated and confused about where you are going and what you will do, I PROMISE YOU, the doors will begin to open and you will notice that you will easily land on your feet in the new place.  It’s going to open the minute you get there, not before.

Remember, this new place is waiting for you.  You are moving into something that God asked you to do awhile ago so this area, this land, this place, this person, has been waiting for you.

The only difference is that you are not landing there with some well formulated plan that is perfect to a T.

No, it will be messy because you have demonic powers after you as you escape.  You will have peace because you will be so aware the GOD is the one opening the doors.  It’s like miracles start happening to get you situated in the new place.

Remember, I told you this AFTER you leave Egypt, not before.  The Red Sea doesn’t part until you get to it.  So if you are waiting for a full detailed plan before you leave, that will not happen

  • You see the door
  • You enter the door
  • Then you get the next step in the plan
  • Then you take that step
  • Then you get the next step in the plan

The only reason you leave Egypt at this stage is the warfare is on a whole other level, you are aware of the Pharoah and the fact that you have no covering from God unless you step into obedience.  <<<< This is why you’re leaving.

7. Miraculous things will begin to happen to accommodate you in the new place. God will begin to guide your steps and your moves to the point you will notice a remarkable difference compared to Egypt.

8. I would like to tell you that this is where it ends, but it doesn’t.  Imagine that the Israelites are on foot walking with their cattle and herds and they reached very far.  They have already left and so there is this feeling of “Yes, we did it!”  But it’ not over, they are on FOOT and what is coming after them has HORSES and CHARIOTS!

Here’s what this will look like, you’ve moved to the new city and you think finally we’ve made it only for your old place of employment to send you a letter saying that when you signed your employment contract you signed off on giving them one year notice before you left.  You can’t just leave, you need to go back there or they are going to sue you.  You have no money to hire an attorney. What now?

You are out but now they are coming with the big guns to bring you back into it.  This is what the spirit of Pharoah.  When you think it is over, it is still coming after you.

Yep!  That’s what the horses and chariots look like when you’re on foot.  David and Goliath.  Except it’s the Pharaoh trying to bring you back.

Now it has moved into intimidation.  Threats.  You become afraid and begin to doubt the move because you are not sure what to do,  You’re now thinking of solutions, let the family stay in the new city and you go back to finish the contract. After all, it’s only one year and before you know it the time will pass (mirage). Doing this would be you negotiating with the Pharaoh again and if you go back, it is a trap and the cycle with the mirage starts all over AGAIN!!!!  You will never leave if you go back.

This is when you come to the Red Sea moment.  When you are up against the Pharaoh trying to bring you back and you don’t see how you get out of it.  God in the moment, when you decide to stand firm , will bring about events to make a way.  Miraculously!

Exodus 14:10-18

10 As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up, and there were the Egyptians, marching after them. They were terrified and cried out to the Lord.11 They said to Moses, “Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt? 12 Didn’t we say to you in Egypt, ‘Leave us alone; let us serve the Egyptians’? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!”

13 Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will seethe deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. 14 The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

15 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. 16 Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground. 17 I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians so that they will go in after them. And I will gain glory through Pharaoh and all his army, through his chariots and his horsemen. 18 The Egyptians will know that I am the Lord when I gain glory through Pharaoh, his chariots and his horsemen.”

9. You do not need to be afraid once this starts happening because God has your back! (Exodus 14:19-20). You already left so whatever is coming after you the LORD will fight for you.  There is no need for you to be afraid.  He will show you the way forward and also cover your back at the same time.

This part can seem confusing because you already left but they are still coming after you.  PLEASE know you are  heading in the right direction it is just the Pharaoh’s last ditch attempt to get you to go back.  You’re not going back.

10.  The final state is a lull before you step into the promise land.  This step is necessary.  After going through that traumatic experience, you are a mess.  Trauma will change you so God has to put you in a place where you recover, you examine your life and the mistakes you made.  You will not be attacked in this place but you need to HEAL.  You need to cut off all the ways and mindset that made you decide to stay in Egypt in the first place.

This is why they went into the wilderness.  It was a place for them to get reacquainted with God, see His miracles being performed and to be refreshed to step into the promised land.  Rest in His miraculous provisions. It is not a perfect place but it is a necessary step.  Your resources, finances will come in a different way than they did in the past.  This is just for a season.  This is not your home, you are passing through.  However, as you know the 11 day journey took them 40 years!  This is what happens when you don’t examine yourself and take responsibility for your part in remaining in Egypt longer than you should.

You must process in this place.  Heal.  Acknowledge where you went wrong and repent.  Otherwise, your 11 days will turn into years!

Many times we want to blame others for why we ended up in Egypt when it is our own fault for not listening the minute God told us to leave!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here’s what I want you to get from this:
Even if you are obedient to the Lord, at some point you fell into disobedience.  Because you cannot have a Pharaoh unless you are in Egypt.  If you read this entire post and you saw yourself in it, that means at some point you stepped into disobedience. Most of time, we can’t even see that we are in disobedience.  We agreed to follow the Lord then decided to follow our way, so when He presented the opportunity for us to get out of Egypt, we didn’t take it because it didn’t suit us.
Think back, you were given an opportunity to obey, at least more than once, but you decided that the time wasn’t right.  Perhaps you were fearful, prideful, you had ego problem, you were too comfortable, it wasn’t perfect for your liking because you’re a perfectionist! Whatever it was, GOD presented you with the opportunity to leave and you didn’t take it.  Back then you could’ve exited through the front door!
The sad part is, the last chance you were given to leave through the front door, you didn’t realize that was your last chance.  And there you sit waiting for it to circle around again so you can do it right this time.  Guess what?
The front door is CLOSED.  You have the Pharaoh after you fully aware that you want to leave and the front door is no longer an option.  Therefore, you have to leave another way. However you imagined it would happen, it’s not going to happen like that because that option is no longer available.
Abraham went to Egypt with Sarah and Lot during the famine, remember?  And he left, well he was kicked out.  Then Israelites went in the next famine and then left Egypt and went to Canaan to bury Jacob, their father, they left through the front door and could’ve stayed in Canaan, but they didn’t.  Instead they went back in Egypt thinking they would have other opportunities to leave.  They got comfortable using the front door going back and forth not realizing there was coming a day when they were no longer allowed to do that. They didn’t realize when the last time was THE LAST TIME.  The same with you, you never identified your last chance to leave through the front door and it is now closed.
Now you will leave in a very painful, confusing, inconvenient, messy, ugly tears way because that is what is necessary to break off of you what led you into Egypt in the first place – fear, pride, ego, comfort and the decision to carry out God’s plan your way, your timing at your convenience.
It is one big giant PRUNING season.  Your only way out is to cut off what led you into Egypt in the first place.
And, one final warning.
PLEASE do not fall for the counterfeit while you’re in Egypt.  No compromising.
There’s no turning Ishmael into Isaac.  It will not work out!
This is a very hard thing to walk through, I know because I’ve been there and I pray for those of you who have found yourself in this situation that you lay on your face before God and ask Him to show you the door that you will use to get out of Egypt.  And when it appears, I pray that you are humble enough to leave.
Blessings!
