150 Most Popular Bible Verses
Thanks for stopping by! We want to share 150 of the Most Popular Bible Verses. While these are in no particular order, we selected them based on what we’ve heard quoted the most and what most Christians use in prayer.
See how many of these you know! As a way to test your bible knowledge, see if you can quote at least 10 scriptures before reading these. This would be a great challenge for you, your friends and family as well
I’m sure while you may disagree with the order on some of these, we will all agree that the #1 spot, is indeed the most famous bible verse! Even non believers know this one!
We started out looking for these in version of the bible which most people use when quoting the scripture. What was interesting is that most scriptures are quoted in King James Version (KJV), New King James Version (NKJV) and fewer in the New International Version (NIV). Why do you think that is? Is it that the older generation paid more attention to scripture memorization? Do you quote scriptures using the Amplified Version? There are so many newer versions of the bible available today that it does cause one to wonder what do we do when it comes to scripture memorization? Older Versions or Newer Versions?
If your favorite is not on the list, let us know and we’ll add it.
Here goes…
1 – John 3:16 (KJV) “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
6 – Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
29 – Isaiah 54:17 (KJV) “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.”
30 – 1 Peter 5:6 (KJV) “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time”
31 – Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NKJV) “To everything there is a season,A time for every purpose under heaven:..”
70 –Proverbs 16:3 (NIV) “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”
71 -Ephesians 2:10 (NIV) “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
150 – Jude 24-25 (NIV) “To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy— to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.”
Did we forget one of your favorites? If so, leave it in the comments below.
If you enjoyed these share it with your friends. This would make a good game for a party! Round Robin style see which team can quote the most scripture. If your group gets stuck, then call out the name of a book in the bible and that will get the ball rolling again. For example if you say “Romans” you will remember more scriptures from the book of Romans than just trying to remember a random scripture from the entire bible.
Be Blessed!
