Kislev First Fruit Blessing Prayer

kislev first fruit blessing prayer

This is the First Fruit Blessing Prayer for the month of Kislev (Chislev).  If you’re wondering What is First Fruit?  You can read this post

December 2, 2024 – 1 Kislev 5785

November 21, 2025 – 1 Kislev 5786

November 11, 2026 – 1 Kislev 5787

1.   Kislev is the darkest month of the year as the days become shorter and the nights longer in the winter months.

2.    This is the month of the dreamer. In the Torah readings, there are 9 dreams this month.  Most of which are from Joseph who was called the “master of dreams” and then his name was changed later by the pharaoh to the “decipherer of dreams” (Zaphenath-Paneah ).

Your dreams are powerful, and they are one way in which God speaks to you.  If you are a dreamer you should make it your life’s mission to pray about interpreting your own dreams and also study as much as you can about dream interpretation.

Imagine that this is the main way that God wants to communicate with you and you didn’t take the time to decipher the meaning of what He was saying?  You would miss out on so much.  You can have many dreams and be known as the master of dreams but you can’t step into those dreams until you become the decipherer of dreams.  This is how God will reveal his secrets to you.  It is an individual one on one communication.

Occasionally when the enemy knows that God speaks to you through dreams he will attempt to shut down your dream life.  You will see signs of this when you can’t remember your dream when you wake up in the morning or you wait too long to record it.  Make every effort to write your dreams down as soon as you wake up even if it is in the middle of the night.  You can always voice record it.  If you can’t remember your dreams, anoint your head and pray asking God to bind the hand of the enemy and bring your dreams back to you.  He will do it if you ask.

Your dreams can be from one of 3 sources, they can be from God, they are from the enemy or they were from your own soul.  Your soul can conjure up dreams that are your own desires, you ate too much before going to bed, you watched a disturbing movie or your fears can also produce soulish dreams.  God can give you warning dreams which can be scary sometimes but the key way to determine if the dream was of the Lord is that there has to be something redemptive about it.  You see, God will never leave you in a pit.  Never.  This is not His nature.  His nature is to redeem something and make something good out of what is bad.  With a warning dream, you have time to pray against it so that it won’t happen.  With a warning dream, God will give you instructions.  God is always going to give you an out or a way of escape.  The enemy never does that, he throws you into the pit and leaves you there.  So, if you have a dream and it is just dark, nasty, and leave you in fear with no way out, or having bad thoughts about others, then you know this is not from God.  There is no need for you to ever interpret those dreams.  Delete it from your memory bank, don’t even write it down.  Don’t even look for an interpretation.  Act like it never happened.  Then the enemy will get the message never to give you those dreams because they will be rebuked and ignored.

3.   Kislev is a month of hope.  This is the month when the rainbow appeared to Noah after the flood.  The rainbow was a sign of the covenant between God and man.  It signifies promises and the fact that God does keep His word. Promises Fulfilled.

Genesis 9:12-17

12 And God said: “This is the sign of the covenant which I make between Me and you, and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: 13 I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. 14 It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud; 15 and I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. 16 The rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I will look on it to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.” 17 And God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant which I have established between Me and all flesh that is on the earth.”

What has God promised you?  He will keep His word because He is a covenant keeping God.

4.   On 24 Kislev, Hannukah (Channukah) begins.  This is known as the festival of lights.

Interesting that the darkest month is the month of the celebration of light.  The Light is there for us.  God doesn’t need light because He can see in the darkness just fine.  (Psalm 97:2)

Psalm 139:12

even the darkness will not be dark to You;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to You.

Yes, it doesn’t matter to God because He can operate in both.  They are the same to Him.  We are the ones that need the Light.

John 8:12

“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

The Light exposes things (Ephesians 5:13).

The Light brings a separation

Genesis 1:4

“And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness.”

Everyone can tell the difference between what is light and what is darkness.  You don’t even need to be saved to see that.

YOU were called to be different.  People should know that you are different by observing your life.

I think it was St. Francis of Assisi who said “preach the Gospel and if necessary, use words”

2 Corinthians 3:1-3 NKJV

Do we begin again to commend ourselves? Or do we need, as some others, epistles of commendation to you or letters of commendation from you? You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men; clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.

***Newsflash***

Somebody is always reading you.

In this month of Kislev, let them see Light.  And you know what?  In the times we are living now, it’s not that hard to do. Be Kind. Show Love.

The story of Hannukah is related to the Feast of Dedication which is mentioned only once in the bible in John 10:22-23.

22 Now it was the Feast of Dedication in Jerusalem, and it was winter. 23 And Jesus walked in the temple, in Solomon’s porch.

This feast celebrates the rededication of the temple after the Jewish people’s victory over the Syrian occupiers.  Chanukah is the eternal power of light over darkness—good over evil. Aside from commemorating the miraculous victory of the small and militarily weak Jewish army over the mighty Syrian-Greek empire, on Chanukah we celebrate the miracle of the oil. When the Jews sought to light the Temple menorah after the war, they found only one small jug of oil that had not been defiled by the pagan invaders. Miraculously, the one-day supply burned for eight days until new pure oil could be obtained.

It is a time for miracles.

Do you believe in miracles?  Have you ever seen one?  I believe the days are upon us when we will see them more and more.  Why?  Because we need it.  They happen when we run out of solutions and only God can step in and bring a change.  That is the climate for a miracle.  Kryptonite for the control freaks! LOL

If you are interested in celebrating Hannukah, you can read more about it here.  Hannukah starts in Kislev and continues into the next month which is Tevet.

Tribe for the month of Kislev

This is Moses’ blessing spoken over Benjamin

Deuteronomy 33:12

12 Of Benjamin he said:

“The beloved of the Lord shall dwell in safety by Him,
Who shelters him all the day long;
And he shall dwell between His shoulders.”

The beloved of the Lord, wow.  When it says he shall dwell safety by Him this reminds me of Psalm 91.  In the distribution of the land given to the tribes, Mount Moriah, where the temple resides is in the land of Benjamin.  So even though it is known as the city of David, David built the temple on a piece of land that belonged to the tribe of Benjamin. How special is that?

God shelters him and he lives between His shoulders.  So the temple is at the top of the mountain like a head between the shoulders. God is watching over the land of Benjamin from that temple. I think that is why it is beloved.

All of this just makes me think about how prophetic Moses was.  Do you think he knew when he was saying all of this what it really meant?  Do you think he knew about Mount Moriah and the Temple Mount?  Do you think he knew that this land that Benjamin was getting would be the place where they say Jesus will return?  Or do you think he was just speaking under the unction of the spirit and he had no idea what he was saying?

I also find it interesting that this was given to the youngest son.

When the tribes split to form the northern and southern kingdoms, Benjamin was the one who stuck with Judah.  And before Joseph revealed his identity to his brothers in Egypt, when he asked them to leave Benjamin behind it was Judah that spoke up and asked him not to do that.  He stood up for his brother. (Genesis 44:1-47) That tells me there was always a closeness between Benjamin and Judah.  When the territories were allotted, they were next to each other as well.

Difficult times reveal who’s on your team.  The ones that will stick with you.

Proverbs 17:17

A friend loves at all times,
and a brother is born for a time of adversity.

And sometimes it’s not even that people speak against you, but you pick up on their spirit that they are standing back and waiting to see if you will succeed or fail before they choose a side.  You know what I’m talking about?  Those aren’t your real friends either.  In Jamaica we call these wagonists!  They are non-committal until they know you are winning.  Sometimes it can take years before you figure out who is who.  But you really need to know this, especially if God called you to build something.

This is the blessing spoken over Benjamin by Jacob

Genesis 49:27

“Benjamin is a ravenous wolf;
in the morning he devours the prey,
in the evening he divides the plunder.”

You can’t always be passive.  Sometimes you have to fight. This is a warring tribe!  They know when to fight, how to win and how to plunder the camp of the enemy.  I would say in a time of adversity this is the person you want on your side.

In the bible king Saul was from the tribe of Benjamin, as was Mordecai, Esther and the apostle Paul.

All of these people have a different temperament so that just shows you a warrior can come in different shapes and sizes, using a different approach to defeat the enemy.

Being a warrior is one thing but obeying the Lord’s instruction when you want to go to war is far more important.

2 Chronicles 11

11 Now when Rehoboam came to Jerusalem, he assembled from the house of Judah and Benjamin one hundred and eighty thousand chosen men who were warriors, to fight against Israel, that he might restore the kingdom to Rehoboam.

But the word of the Lord came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying, “Speak to Rehoboam the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and to all Israel in Judah and Benjamin, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord: “You shall not go up or fight against your brethren! Let every man return to his house, for this thing is from Me.” ’ ” Therefore they obeyed the words of the Lord, and turned back from attacking Jeroboam.

Yeah, it’s equally as important to know when you need to stand down.  It’s not every battle, or war or demon you see that you should be going after.  Use wisdom when you war.

First Fruit Blessing Prayer for Kislev

Lord, in this month of Kislev I pray that You would give me dreams that would reveal the plans You have for me not only in this month but for 5785 and 2025.  Dreams that would help me to find my way through these dark times.  Dreams that would restore hope.  Give me a diligent spirit to steward those dreams well.  Grant me the gift of interpretation so that I can fully decipher the meaning of my dreams.  Where the enemy has come to steal what You’ve given me in dreams, I pray that You would restore it.  Bring those dreams back to me.  Thank you for being a God who keeps Your promises and the covenant that You have made with me and your people.  I ask that You remind me of all Your promises and add the measure of faith that I need to believe for them. During this feast of dedication, I dedicate my heart to You.  I ask that You cause my light to shine even brighter than it is right now.  You said that no one lights a candle and hides it, so where You have gifted me show me where and when to use it.  Open doors of opportunity to me to be used by You, in the church and in the marketplace.  Where my light has dimmed restore the brightness.  Give me the wisdom to know when I should war and how I should war.  Strategies to use in my warfare for this season. Grant me grace to stand in the battles of life.  Give me discernment to know who my real friends are.  The ones that You have placed in my life to help me.  Allow me to also be that friend to others.  To stand up for and stick with others even when they may not appear to be winning.  If You are for us who can be against us and our temporary setbacks are only a  setup for greater things.  More than anything else this month, I pray that I would dwell under Your shadow of Your wings.  That You would watch over me and my family continually and refer to me as Your beloved dwelling place.  Lord, let me see a miracle in this season.  Work a miracle in me and through me.  Do something miraculous and supernatural in my life, in Jesus name, Amen.

Blessings!

  1. Thank you so much for the word. I am a dreamer and the lord has been speaking a lot in my dreams so this was timely🙏

  2. Thank You for this word. We from the Southern Hemisphere, are in our Spring month and we are experiencing the Light n it’s brightest. May everything in our lives be bright as the Morning Star. We look forward to the to You working in us and with us.

  3. Father, thank You for the miracles that are on their way to us right now, in Jesus name. Thank you for the upcoming breakthroughs and victories in all the areas of our life: our ministry, professional, academic, financial, artistic, and romantic life, in Jesus name. Be glorified in all we do, may many seek to be transformed by You, because of Your grace, mercy toward us, and because of Your great deeds in our life, IJN. Amen.

  4. God I thank you for this word! I’ve been meditating on the scripture that states in a dream, in a vision of the night, God speaks to men on their beds … (gives instruction, warning, keeps him from the pit, disciplines, etc). I am a firm believer that God speaks thru dreams!

He has recently reminded me of His promises to me thru several dreams as of late. I am reminded of how Sarah was 90 years old when the promise came to her, but it came! God did a miracle in her body and life (even in old age)…. He is a waymaker! Excited to share my testimony in the months and year to come! Amen!

  5. Wow, I am now realizing a lot of things! A couple days ago I dreamed of a bride and groom and all of these things had to happen, like memories, before he could place the ring on her finger and then it was time and he did and I woke up. I saw a rainbow in the sky today for about a minute and then it disappeared. Last night me and my dad were reading about that covenant with Noah and the living creatures. God is so cool!

  6. Thank you MOP. This was so beautiful to read, and also confirmatory in a lot of areas for me. I am a dreamer, but Iately my dreams are just a blur and I was wondering if God was maybe teaching me other ways to hear him…
But yesterday I did have a dream and in this dream Victoria Orenze and I were friends and I was giving her props on her prophetic song, ‘Covenant Keeping God’
Also the rainbow is ‘my thing’ with God as my name means ‘promise’. When I see a rainbow and bright colors I radiate.

  7. Some hours ago today, my daughter, Faith, saw a rainbow on the staircase (two steps I think) going to the upstairs in our house. She said, “I never saw that before!” I looked and said, YES! Wow Faith!!! She’s 3 about to be 4 in January. I now take this as a sign after reading this post. Before that occurred, I had read the first day of a 30 devotional on taking communion and having faith in God’s promises. I took communion. Just wow!!!!!! 🤯
