I dreamt that I was admitted to hospital in a foreign country. While in bed in my shared room, a person I do not know came to me and suggested I plan a dinner party because I am so good at it and as it would make me feel better. I immediately started the planning. Every task I completed brought healing. The dinner party was arranged, food was prepared and the table was set. I had physically never felt to healthy. I did not work with the guest list and therefore did not know who was coming, i was in a foreign country after all. The guest started arriving, I was shocked then angry at the person who had suggested I arrange the party. Everyone who walked in was someone who had either hurt me, lied to me, disappointed me, been unfaithful, tried to take what’s mine, tried to change me, left me, tried to force themselves into my life, tried to dominate me, spoke unkindly about me, misrepresented themselves to me, tried to buy their way into my life, bullied me, abused me, rejected me and did not trust me. I therefore did not understand why they were at my party and why I had no clue that the party was for them. I stood at the door, not moving towards the table, not joining in the festivities. The host asked me to step forward so that he could thank me for arranging the festivities. I stepped forward, he made an elaborate speech and indicated that I should say something. Me being me I said:”I thank our host for this opportunity to showcase my skills. I just took his generic party idea and ran with it.” No one at the table recognized me, to them I was just another caterer. Despite knowing that they did not recognize me, I still feel emotionally desturbed by seeing them. I did not join the party. I woke up.
