Prophetic Word – Timelines

prophetic word timelines

This prophetic word is on timelines.  You know I have read and heard people talking about the possibility of different timelines and people living out a false timelines or conversations to this effect…we’re living in the matrix, alternate timeline, parallel universe etc.  This kind of chatter.

Even Christians I am hearing talking about this.  I have never read anything like this in the bible and cannot recall any passage of scripture that supports this theory. If you have one please share it in the comments below. I know that God has His Good, Pleasing and Perfect Will (Romans 12:2) and this is what I believe people are viewing as timelines when in fact they are not different timelines but rather a life you create for yourself based on your choices, your sin, your disobedience or the things that were done to you by others.

There is only one plan and what you choose in life determines if you stay in line with God’s perfect will for your life.  if there’s another timeline, you ended up on it because you disobeyed God or something happened to you to put you on that path.  That’s pretty much it.

To take this further I decided to ask the Lord about it myself just to be sure and He basically explained it to me using a tree and scripture.  I thought it was a perfectly good example and it will stick with me forever as an example of what happens based on our choices in life.

Let’s use the life of Joseph as the first example.  He was given a promise…

Genesis 37:5-7

5 Joseph had a dream, and when he told it to his brothers, they hated him all the more. 6 He said to them, “Listen to this dream I had: 7 We were binding sheaves of grain out in the field when suddenly my sheaf rose and stood upright, while your sheaves gathered around mine and bowed down to it.”

What we get from this is that he’s going to be a ruler and his brothers are going to serve him.  He never should have told them this because all it did was incite jealousy.  As a matter of fact, if you read Abram’s first promise from God through to the last promise, Abraham never told this to anyone.  Then after him Isaac was also told the same promise and he never told anyone.  Then Jacob/Israel and he also kept it to himself.  So the main thing we learn from this is when you have a promise from God, KEEP IT TO YOURSELF.

The bigger it is the more jealousy you are about to ignite against you. Plus now that it is out there in the wind, the enemy gets a hold of it and you will be struggling to see it through to the end because he is going to put everything on your path to get you to abort it.  The enemy cannot stop it so he has to get you to abort it.

Imagine that this tree signifies the initial promise to Joseph and God’s perfect plan was for him to stay on that straight vine

prophetic word timelines

The next step is that because he told it to his brothers now they want to kill him but God intervenes and they settle for selling him to Ishmaelites who took him to Egypt (Genesis 37:26-28).  Notice nowhere in the original promise does it say that this promise is going to be fulfilled in Egypt.  I believe if it named Egypt as the place they would never do anything to push him closer towards his destiny but instead kill him and end it.  This is the reason God never tells you everything. There is always many things hidden from us.

Now a new branch is formed because he’s off the original plan and now a new branch gets formed when he’s in Potiphar’s house.  He’s still moving forward in the will of God just in an alternate path.  Then Potiphar’s wife accuses Joseph and now he’s in prison, imagine another branch is formed. (Genesis 39:11-20)

Then in prison, he’s made a promise by 2 people to help him get out of there so you have two branches that could help him out of prison.

prophetic word timelines

One of the two died which then left him with one path out.  Imagine in that scenario, a giant scissors coming out of heaven and cutting off that branch because that person no longer exists so they are no longer in the position to help him out. (Genesis 40:20-22)

This is how the Lord plotted it out to me when I asked Him about it.  It’s not that there are different timelines but that our lives can take a different turn depending on what happens to us in life and how we choose to respond when things don’t go as planned or we have a decision to make.

Please notice that Joseph never gets off track from God’s plan.  He kept moving forward regardless of what was happening in his life.  The tree is still growing upwards.  Hence,

Galatians 6:7-9

7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8 Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Joseph never gave up, he never got bitter, he wasn’t resentful, he kept doing the right thing and as such he inherited exactly what God promised him.

The enemy cannot stop the plan of God on your life.

It is STILL going forward.  Even if things are not looking exactly the way that you hoped.  In Joseph’s prophecy God never told him about all the struggles, betrayal, accusation, enslavement and imprisonment he would face.

This is life.

Every one of us will be faced with challenges, tribulations, persecution, abandonment, betrayals.  It’s going to happen!  People are going to let you down.  There will be obstacles. There is NO ONE that has a tree that grows straight up from the ground to the top.  IT DOESN’T EXIST!!!!!

I believe now that is why He created the trees to show us exactly how our lives will look, branches growing off in all kinds of direction.  He said go left, you turned right.  He said right, you went left. And then there are those family members and friends who did things to you that you never imagined. Hence, the need to PRUNE.

What happens when you never dealt with the Ishmaels in your life.  It looks cute when it’s young but give it time and it becomes very evident to everyone that this never should’ve happened.

When God comes along and wants to prune the branch, tells you to repent of that sin, but you continue thinking it will work out…

Till that branch takes you out!

Pruning is not fun!  It’s painful.

Let’s use David as an example.  He’s going along living his life, he gets a promise that he’s going to be king.  ends up winning a battle against Goliath, marries the kings daughter, ends up in the palace …it’s all going good right?  Wrong!  The king is jealous of him and now he’s on the run.  He has to go from there.  Ducking and dodging and trying to stay alive when he has done nothing wrong!

Same story as Joseph.  Something is being done to him, he doesn’t deserve this. You have no control over other people’s behavior.  The only person you are in charge of is YOU.  The only thing you can control is your own behavior and response when you’ve been wronged.

Instead of celebrating him, the king tries to kill him.  Then when he has an opportunity to “return the favor” and kill the king does he do it???? NO!

By choosing not to engage in the sin by doing to the person what they did to you, you keep yourself free from the sin and your branches will continue to grow upwards….because you are not at fault.  It’s being done to you and you are not returning the wrong done to you by doing wrong to them.

If David tried to kill Saul, his entire life would be at a standstill…no more growth!  David made all the right moves regardless of what was done to him… until he fell into sin with Bathsheba.

Theologians have said that God said nothing to him for an entire year!  I don’t know about you but I am not sure what I would do if God didn’t speak to me for a year!  OH MY!!!  Silence?  No Sah!

The prophet Nathan had to go to him and point out the sin.  Let me tell you something, anything that you are doing now that you think no one knows…God knows! (2 Samuel 12)

In the story of King David it appears the only ones who knew was God, David, Bathsheba and the prophet Nathan.  Now if he repented immediately, Nathan wouldn’t need to get involved!

Whether people know what you did or not is irrelevant because…

Psalm 75:6-7 God’s Word Translation

The [authority] to reward someone does not [come] from the east, from the west, or [even] from the wilderness.

God alone is the judge. He punishes one person and rewards another.

Or as other version says… promotion doesn’t come from the east or the west it comes from GOD!

The only One who has the ability to grow the tree upwards is GOD, therefore hiding your sins from others is irrelevant because your tree can be completely stagnant while your life looks sinless to everyone on the outside meanwhile in your heart and mind you are full of sin and GOD KNOWS.

What did God do after David’s repentance?  The scissors comes out of heaven and the branch that was created from that sin got cut off.

And David doesn’t get to dictate the consequences or which branch gets pruned. When pruning happens we are not the ones who gets to decide what gets pruned.  God, being the author and finisher, knows everything that will be detrimental to your growth and He is the one who decides what stays and what goes.

Repentance give you the opportunity to continue to move forward in the will of God and sometimes the consequences require pruning.  A change that can be painful.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What happens if someone else caused you to go off track?
God brings it about an opportunity using someone else! It’s like using the GPS for directions to get to a location… accident up ahead….rerouting!  I wrote a post before Congratulations you are the 2nd choice which explains it.
You are going to get there it will just be through another path!  He replaces people and someone else steps in.  It’s all throughout the bible.
Sometimes we get caught up on people and put all the pressure on ONE person to make something happen when the truth is they may not be in the position to do it!
Psalm 20:7
Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
    but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
Sometimes we even trust in our own abilities, our education, our connections and it doesn’t work out.  GOD has a way to get you to where you need to be.
Don’t sweat it when your company starts laying people off, God is your source He’s going to supply through that company or another one.  If you get too attached to people, places or things you can end up being devastated when ONE person, place or thing doesn’t work for you.  However, when your eyes are focused on the Lord when He starts switching out people, you are sad to see them go but you understand that God is the one who replaced them not you!
If they do not have the ability to fulfill God’s plan in your life, He’s sending someone else.  Don’t fall into sin while you wait.  God is not going to allow your life to go to waste because someone else won’t step up and do their job.  Someone else is coming to finish it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

What happens to the branch when God removes someone?

Everything is gone that was connected to that branch.  I shared before that, in ministry, I met this couple and the Lord started to show me in a vision that I would be working with them.  Well, a year later they were divorced.  Obviously what He showed me in the vision will not happen because they are no longer together.  The branch of their ministry/marriage no longer exists.

Therefore, any visions or dreams that I had connected with this couple will not happen.  I know, that’s not fun, but this is the reality.  Those visions were not a lie, they were a casualty of someone else’s sin.

If you get a lot of dreams and visions and these are connected to one person or a place and that person is no longer in your life, or they passed away (during Covid) then none of those things can happen because the person is no longer there.

Hence, it is important for you to know which one of your promises are connect to individuals or places so that you know if they are still valid.  Somethings don’t just get switched out with another person and continue, no!  They only happen with that particular person.

You need to know if the promise was connected to the person or if it still exists even though they are no longer in your life.  Joseph’s promise was not connected to his family, he was going to be prime minister with or without them.  It also was not connected to Potiphar.  The only person connected to Joseph’s promise was the Pharoah!  Do you see that?  Because he was needed to appoint him.  And quite frankly the promise did not specifically mention him so if there was another way to get him into power without the Pharoah it would happen.

If you have disconnected from others or a specific place, go back into your dream/vision journal and make sure you understand what still exists and what is now gone. <<<<< THIS

Some things don’t just get switched to new people they are specific to ONE person.

Ruth and Boaz produced Obed.  Ruth having a baby with her husband (the one who died) before she met Boaz doesn’t create Obed.  Two different people does not make the same baby.  It’s a DNA issue and each human is unique.

Even if it is the same mother and father, David’s first born son is not Solomon.  How different could Esau and Jacob be?

So when people are removed from your life, whatever visions and dreams you had associated with them no longer exists if they have not yet happened.  God writes a whole other story rerouting things with other people.  Still moving you forward in your destiny just not associated with that branch that was removed.

Generally when people feel lost somewhere along the line there was disobedience….the sin of commission (you did something wrong) or the sin of omission (you didn’t do what you were supposed to do).  Either you did it or it was done to you.

Once you pray and sort it out with the Lord, He brings about another pathway to move you forward but whatever branch was removed is no longer in the picture and anything that you were hoping for connected to that branch no longer exists.

If this doesn’t show you the importance of your obedience, nothing will.

It is for this reason, when we have the January fast I always say I only want the dreams and visions you had on the fast because I am 1000% sure there are some people holding on to prophesies that are no longer valid.  You could be 20 branches off the main tree and stagnant and still believe you’re in the will of God.  Waiting for a prophecy that is not coming. I don’t know if you’ve been obedient, I don’t know who did what to you along the way.  It would take too many conversations for me to determine if that is still on track or not.  Whatever is valid God will always reconfirm it.

And how many times in our fasts, through your own dream and vision interpretation, does God show you exactly what you need to do to get back on track????  He is sooooo awesome!  He never wants any of us to be stuck.

Repentance and obedience fixes it!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How do you get back on track if you know you are off, and you didn’t intentionally sin?
Repent. Very quickly.  The faster you can recover things the better it is for you.  Keep close accounts with God on your promises.  If you’re off He will tell you.  You repent and ask the Lord to get you back on track.  He’ll do it.  Depending on how long it has been since you went off track it can be a difficult transition but He’ll get you back.
I believe I shared as well that I had a dream once that I was in an airport and I took the escalator from the first floor to the 2nd floor.  It was one of those double escalator and I was on the left hand side and when it got to the landing on the 2nd floor it turned into a moving sidewalk and the side I was on went straight ahead while the one on the right turned right. I knew in my spirit at that moment that I was going in the wrong direction.
He gave me the dream to tell me I missed the turn.
This wasn’t an intentional sin, I made a mistake took the wrong path.  For days I kept praying, Lord get me back on track!  Because sometimes you can know you made a mistake but you don’t necessarily know how to fix it.  Has that ever happened to you?  Then I changed that prayer into, show me when I am back on track. Well, I don’t think it took a week my entire life was turned upside down.  It was HARD but I got back on track in the end.  God is like “you want back on track? ok, hang on sharp right turn ahead”. LOL
Remember when David took the census?  Yep, some mistakes will cost you to correct! Even if you didn’t do it on purpose (1 Chronicles 21).
In these moments I know the devil is rubbing his hands together saying “Aha!  I finally got you!”
What he underestimates is the resolve of a true servant of God.  Some of us are willing to go through it to fix it!  I said, some.
Sometimes you can get off track for other reasons that are not necessarily outright sin. Like,
Depression
Grief – have you ever met someone in deep grief to the point where they can’t even pray?
Deception
Pray in tongues.
Depending on how long you are in this state you could be off on a branch and not moving forward in life.  Just hanging out on that branch until one day it clicks that you need to come out of that in order to move forward. Only then can you get back on track.
1 Samuel 22
David left Gath and escaped to the cave of Adullam. When his brothers and his father’s household heard about it, they went down to him there. 2 All those who were in distress or in debt or discontented gathered around him, and he became their commander. About four hundred men were with him.
3 From there David went to Mizpah in Moab and said to the king of Moab, “Would you let my father and mother come and stay with you until I learn what God will do for me?” 4 So he left them with the king of Moab, and they stayed with him as long as David was in the stronghold.
5 But the prophet Gad said to David, “Do not stay in the stronghold. Go into the land of Judah.” So David left and went to the forest of Hereth.
Imagine being in this state and the people around you can’t even help you, because they are also messed up and they are literally hanging out with you acting like your behavior is NORMAL!!
It ain’t normal!  A PROPHET had to go there and tell him you need to leave this place because that thing was a STRONGHOLD!!!  Did you watch the video series on strongholds?  You need to as there may be things you need to break out of in order to leave that state.
The minute you recognize that you made a mistake, repent, and obediently step into what God told you to do.  Repenting and continuing to stay in that place is pointless because all it means is that you never really repented.  If you don’t know how to get out….Get help, GO and ask someone to help you.
You can’t be so prideful that you can’t ask for help.  And, in some cases we need medications….if even temporarily to help us get up!!!  God can use medicine too. There is no shame in taking medications if you need it to help you move from that place.  Go and get help.  Once you are back on your feet if you are in a safe environment, tell your family members you are planning on getting off the medicines so someone can monitor you and let you know if you should go back on it.
Get on and get off it once you feel you are more stable and able to handle what is happening around you.
I know the bible says the prayer of faith will heal the sick but there are also these scriptures that clearly tell us that we need medicine sometimes…
Luke 10:34
34 He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him.
Matthew 9:12
On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.
Even Jesus acknowledged doctors!  Makes me wonder if that is why He recruited Luke, the physician!  So when someone says “is there a doctor in the house?”  Luke can raise his hand!  LOL
Isaiah 38:21
Isaiah had said, “Prepare a poultice of figs and apply it to the boil, and he will recover.
Even the prophet was giving medical advice.
1 Timothy 5:23
 Stop drinking only water, and use a little wine because of your stomach and your frequent illnesses.
And my one of my favorites, 2 Kings 5, when Elisha told Naaman to go wash himself in the river to heal his leprosy.  Remember what he said?
Verse 11-12
But Naaman became angry and stalked away. “I thought he would certainly come out to meet me!” he said. “I expected him to wave his hand over the leprosy and call on the name of the Lord his God and heal me! Aren’t the rivers of Damascus, the Abana and the Pharpar, better than any of the rivers of Israel? Why shouldn’t I wash in them and be healed?” So Naaman turned and went away in a rage.
Listen, he wanted the miraculous healing.  But God wasn’t having it.  Why?  Because his leprosy was not his only problem. He had pride and anger issues. He’s prideful and that branch needed to be cut so now he’s in a state of limbo… do I listen and do it to be healed or hang on to my pride and anger?
The choice was his to make.  Decisions, decisions.
I am big bad Naaman, don’t you know who I am!?!  I deserve a miraculous healing so that it can be a part of my testimony.  I can tell the world that I got it because of my prominence in society, I got healed because God endorses me.  Right here in my own backyard, I didn’t need to go anywhere they came to ME!  Besides our rivers are better than yours!
Sometimes GOD is doing a work inside of us.  Sometimes He’s building character.  He’s giving us a testimony so that when people come to us and say “how did you get over this?” and you tell them “medication”, you literally give them the freedom to EXHALE and not feel JUDGED by the world for taking a different route.  Because GOD can heal in more than one ways.
It was a 3 for 1 deal…you get rid of your pride, your anger and your leprosy…..and you get to decide if you want to do that.
Sometimes GOD has to give us a different kind of testimony, not for our sakes but for the sake of the ones who will come to us for help and we won’t judge them because we’ve been there, had the same experience and we can help them because we took a path that most “church people” didn’t.  There’s no shame in it.  If they used medicine in the bible, you can use medicine too.
Imagine having the gift of healing and you have to take medication to get rid of your own problem.  Would you do it??
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

What happens to the people who caused you to go off track due to their own sin?

Each person has their own path and God’s plan is still active in their own life.  Everything associated with you and that person is now removed and they have to move forward on another path which was created based on their own disobedience.

Now, if they repent they can still move forward in His plan without you but if they continue to walk in disobedience their life becomes a tree that has a branch not growing upwards but instead outwards and hanging down with all the people they hurt.

Using Naaman as an example imagine how many people he hurt in his life because of his pride and anger?  Those would create branches that all drag on the ground.  Because the change would be repenting for the pride and anger and allowing God to renew the old relationships or starting new ones free from it.  If he doesn’t get delivered he ruins everything in his life with the same pride and anger.  All he would leave behind is a trail of broken relationships.

They are still connected to the tree if they are saved but their life is stalled, stuck, stagnation.

Stagnation means there is no growth, no upward movement.  Like David not hearing from God until he repents, this is what happens to them.  Most people see stagnation as not being able to move, or get promotions in their job, while it could look like that, the greater danger of stagnation is your inability to hear God and knowing how to move forward.

Hence most of the time when you feel like God is not speaking my solution to you would be, what was the last thing He told you to do?  Do that!

Go back in your journal and figure out where you went off track and get back on track so that the tree of your life can grow upwards instead of outwards to nowhere!

Repentance and obedience.  We all make mistakes and God doesn’t discard people even if they did the sin on purpose.  We forgive them and we move forward and pray for them to be reconciled to Him so that their life too can become fruitful.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What happens if it was your entire family line that went off track?
This is what you call a generational curse.  We can be born into a sinful situation where our parents or grand parents are not serving God the right way.  God only holds it against you when you are unrepentant and choose to continue living the same sinful lifestyle your parents did.
Repentance and obedience.
Back to Ruth’s story.  She was a Moabite, far away from God’s plan because of her family.  She was married to Noami’s son and her sister in law Orpah was too.  When their husband’s died, Naomi was returning to her land.
Both of them said they wanted to go with her but when Naomi told them she couldn’t promise them husbands, Orpah decided to head back to Moab.
It was her idolatry of wanting a husband that kept her with the Moabites.  One decision.
Ruth went with Naomi, she said your people are my people and your God is my God and that was it!  She ended up being the grandmother of King David and an ancestor of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
So it doesn’t matter that you are many many many branches removed by generational sins and curses, YOU still have the ability to break it and follow Jesus.
Again, the decision is not going to be an easy one because Ruth had to move out of her comfort zone…leaving the stronghold, and moving into something completely new with no promises that there was going to be a husband there just the fact that she was embracing Naomi’s God.
Read the book of Ruth.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

In closing, I don’t believe we have different timelines and if my opinion on this changes because I see this in the Word I will let you know.

The life you are living now is the one you created through your choices.

The enemy does not have the power to stop God’s plan in your life.

If something or someone does something to you, it still doesn’t change God’s plan for your life.  The change only comes based on what decision/action you choose to take based on what was done to you.

Your disobedience and sin can get you off the path, even if it wasn’t intentional.

When you disconnect from something or someone whatever was attached to them also ends and God can create a whole new branch to move you forward.

Repentance and obedience gets you back on track.

Blessings!
