We would like to share with you this hedge of thorns prayer. This is not the same as a hedge of protection prayer. The difference is the hedge of protection keeps what is external from coming in while the hedge of thorns prayer keeps what is in from going out.
You should only pray this prayer for people with whom you have a biblical covenant relationship. So this would be for an unfaithful spouse and you can also use this prayer for a prodigal child, drug addicted child, a child who is keeping company with gang related friends.
This prayer should not be prayed for your boyfriend, or girlfriend or someone whom you have feelings for that is not your spouse. That would be considered witchcraft because you are not in a covenant relationship with that person. You also don’t really know God’s will for that person so try not to let your emotions and feelings get control of you.
Likewise if you feel that someone who is not in a covenant relationship with you may be praying this over you, then you want to cut soul ties with them and pray this off of you.
Let’s look at the scriptures that talk about the Hedge of Thorns. There are actually 2 scriptures in the King James Version- one refers to laziness Proverbs 15:19 (we’ll cover that in a different post) and the other is Hosea 2:6.
We will focus in on Hosea 2:6. The book of Hosea is about the prophet Hosea and his unfaithful spouse. This book,while it can be taken literally, can also be looked at figuratively as the Church of Jesus Christ being unfaithful to God and chasing after things (idolatry) and not God. This is a spiritual unfaithfulness. Therefore if you see your child going after things that are not of God (prodigals, drug and alcohol addicted, bad company) you can use these scriptures to pray for them as well.
Let’s look at the scripture in context…
Hosea 2:5-7 (NKJV) “For their mother has played the harlot; She who conceived them has behaved shamefully. For 
she said, ‘I will go after my lovers, Who give me my bread and my water, My wool and my linen, My oil and my drink.’ “Therefore, behold, I will hedge up your way with thorns, And wall her in, So that she cannot find her paths. She will chase her lovers, But not overtake them; Yes, she will seek them, but not find them. Then she will say, ‘I will go and return to my first husband, For then it was better for me than now.’
That’s pretty clear showing that these hedge of thorns keeps the unfaithful from going out and they return to the one with whom they are in a covenant relationship.
Hedge of Thorns Prayer:
Father God, I present to you this day ___________ and ask that you put the hedge of thorns, according to Hosea 2:6, around them to keep them from falling into sin. Cause them to not find the way of unfaithfulness. Cause these ungodly desires to not be fulfilled. May they return to a covenant relationship first and foremost with you, God, and secondly to the covenant relationship that You have ordained from the foundations of the earth. I pray for grace, patience and peace to guard my heart as I wait on You Lord to bring this prayer to fulfillment. I pray that You would send away all these ungodly desires. May _______ lose the desire to go that way, reveal to her/him that this way is destruction and against your will. Give him/her dreams and visions to see that the end is of no good. I pray that You will season my speech with grace so that I will know what to say and when to say it. I pray that you will cleanse my heart and root out any seed of bitterness. Give me grace to forgive. Put a guard over my mouth and show me how I can accommodate the reconciliation and restoration of this covenant relationship. If I have any responsibility in driving ______ away from you God and from this covenant relationship, please reveal it to me. Forgive me God and prepare me for their return. Guide them and me with your Holy Spirit, in Jesus Name, Amen.

Oh my goodness these comments make me feel better knowing I am not the first or last one experiencing marriage problems and a cheating spouse. Please pray for me you guys as my husband has been having affair since October 2017 when he first met the other woman. Fast forward to March 2018 she got pregnant. Fast forward to decmeber 2018 she delivered their baby. Fast forward to now present my husband is back and forth and back and forth between other woman house and our house. My husband and I have two kids together and we recently fell out over this past weekend. I acted out in flesh because of my hurt and pain and keyed his car and removed his tag. Next night he came and took the car we share (mine) and now me and our kids are without a vehicle. On top of all this I am unemployed and looking for work so I have no way to get to my interviews or get to grocery store or other places we may need to go. This thing has just gotten all out of control and I know in my heart the only way we are going to be restored is through God. I have to full let go completely 100% and surrender my husband and my marriage fully to God. I know that is the reason things have not improved and gotten better and why they are only getting worse because I am hindering God from moving on my behalf because I am not keeping full faith. God please forgive me and give me another chance I fully repent and know I played a part hugely in all this and I surrender. Amen!

Please pray for my husband, Larry. He left us earlier this month and filed for divorce. There is another woman involved and though I am not 100% sure, I do believe I know who she is. To make matters worse, we all work for the same employer.

I been battling the enemy for my husband soul as well as outsiders influences Kadt 3 years my husband deserted us his nature, character, beliefs, personalities, and ideals completely changed, he always battled a online affairs problem but was always took blam and fought to be able to come back even shown My the movie Fireproof which we both vowed we do not believe in divorce at all, but certain factors proven this change in him is caused by supernatural actions from outsiders from a immoral destructive action on people he socializes his change happened in one weeks time not long period as most marriages do. My husband has been seeing another woman, and claimed to be in love with her. He recently decided told me that they “broke up” but everything is just as it was. He goes to see her, they stay up all night on the phone, and I am pretty sure she may still be coming over to my house when I am not there. My husband has strayed (big time) and is currently living with his girlfriend. She is not good for him (of course), but she is not a good person and dangerous. I honestly believe that my husband wants to do the right thing, but the soul ties that he has created with this woman are strong and he is not releasing or cutting them. I’m tired, I have been In prayer for him and her for conviction and salvation. I’ve been in prayer for our marriage to be restored. In my head, I’m past ready to move on, but my heart is still with the husband before the infidelity and with this marriage. If God would release my heart, I would move on in a heartbeat because of the huge amount of disrespect, but I do want my 16 year marriage. I believe God’s will is for marriages to last, I don’t want satan to have mine, but I’m just really, really tired of fighting and it seems as though I lose all of the battles. Please pray for Toby and Jackie Garrick. I believe my husband, Toby, has been having an affair with a witch who has been using sex, min control, trances, spells, etc. on him. I feel helpless and suspect that they have secret meetups in our apartment after I leave for work, on the work grounds of his job and while he’s out and about around our city. My husband doesn’t know about spiritual warfare and I don’t think he believes witchcraft exists. He also seems to dismiss / underestimate the presence and power of the enemy. I feel exhausted because, I feel like I’m fighting alone while my husband is blindly helping the enemy against us. I feel hurt that this witch / strange woman has been saying and doing things to try to harden his mind and heart against me. I sensed that he’s tried to leave her alone several times but, it feels like she kept coming back harder each time.
Don’t give up…. keep praying! I’ve been in a very similar situation for nearly 6 months with my husband and a woman who worked for us. Something very strange about her too. Pray and pray scripture. Don’t let the enemy win.
I believe I responded to this post back somewhere between July and September of 2018. I am still praying this over my husband. I saw him a couple of days ago and he looked terrible! It breaks my heart to see him this way but I believe the Holy Spirit is working in him. I’m not giving up on my marriage. I will not let the enemy win. Please pray for my husband, Christopher “Ray”, and for our marriage.
