      Background of Dream

I had this dream about six months ago. The first part of the dream has already happened. It is the last part that I do not understand. IRL, my childhood sweetheart, Eugene, looks out for my mother, running errands and doing household chores for her, especially since my stepfather died. Eugene is 68, and my Mom literally changed his diapers, while his Mom, who is deceased, changed my diapers. We are “family.” Eugene lives with his girlfriend, Lorraine, so we do not talk often at all. We only talk if it concerns my Mom, family, or a mutual friend.

      Dream

I was running and errand with my childhood sweetheart, Eugene. There was nothing romantic going on – we were just running an errand in the daytime. I have no idea where we were going, but it was a bright, sunny day. I was riding with Eugene in his car, and when we got back to his house, I got into my car to drive home. Eugene lives with his girlfriend, Lorraine, and I was expecting to see her come to the door. Lorraine did come out of the house, but when I looked up and saw her, she came out like she had gone straight “Hollywood!” She was putting on dark sunglasses, and had on a blue/black and white polka dot top with white pants, and a purse over her arm as she walked away from the house. When I looked back at the front door of his house, it was standing open, but all I could see was darkness inside. Then I realized Eugene’s dead mother, Lois, was standing there looking out the door. Lois never spoke. There was another woman behind her looking out from the dark. I woke up.

      End of Dream

This is what has already happened

I received a phone call from Eugene a few days after the dream inviting me to go about an hour away to watch his grandson bowl — which I do quite often whether Eugene is there or not. I did not go that evening, but I did go to the bowling tournament the next day. Eugene is a coach for the little kids. The head coach asked me and Gene to run an errand for him to pick up something for a little party for the kids. I rode with Gene and left my car parked at the hotel. So this part actually happened.

The part that I cannot interpret is the girlfriend and Eugene’s dead mother.

      Hello Deborah,

Thank you for sharing your dream with us. Please take everything that I share to the Holy Spirit as He Alone gives the accurate interpretation.

Perhaps all that glitters is not gold. Have you heard the expression “dead man walking?” Perhaps, Eugene’s life with the people/person he is living with is “dark.” I’m not sure what the status of both of your spiritual states are but perhaps he may be backsliding or going through a dark time unbeknowst to you. Ask him.

      Shalom!
