I dreamed that I was in the house with my late husband, and we were getting ready to go to bed, but we stopped in the kitchen and there were a few cockroaches running around so I was yelling at him to get them. Then we proceeded to go to the bedroom where there were more cockroaches and I remember thinking that there is no way that I can sleep in that bed with cockroaches crawling everywhere. My late husband was trying to kill them in the kitchen, and he got rid of those but when we got into the bedroom, there were more in there and I knew some more were hiding. What does it mean when you dream of cockroaches?

I believe that your dream depicts things…. perhaps spiritual attacks or secret sin that us lurking in your life. This being at night as you are preparing to go to bed communicates in the secret/what no one knows. And the few in the kitchen, then many in your bedroom again communicates that there is something in the secret/behind closed doors/in your private life that is there.
“Now concerning how and when all this will happen, dear brothers and sisters, we don’t really need to write you. For you know quite well that the day of the Lord’s return will come unexpectedly, like a thief in the night. When people are saying, “Everything is peaceful and secure,” then disaster will fall on them as suddenly as a pregnant woman’s labor pains begin. And there will be no escape. But you aren’t in the dark about these things, dear brothers and sisters, and you won’t be surprised when the day of the Lord comes like a thief. For you are all children of the light and of the day; we don’t belong to darkness and night. So be on your guard, not asleep like the others. Stay alert and be clearheaded. Night is the time when people sleep and drinkers get drunk. But let us who live in the light be clearheaded, protected by the armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the confidence of our salvation. For God chose to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ, not to pour out his anger on us. Christ died for us so that, whether we are dead or alive when he returns, we can live with him forever. So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.” ~1 Thessalonians 5:1-11 (NLT)
“Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy. So stop telling lies. Let us tell our neighbors the truth, for we are all parts of the same body. And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil.” ~Ephesians 4:21-27 (NLT)
You said your late husband. I’m not sure if he is still with you? But the significance of him communicates to me spiritual leader or authority. The fact that he is the one fighting/killing them again communicates that. This could symbolize that he (if he is still with you) needs to lead and partner with you in dealing with whatever is there. Or if he in no longer with you, this could symbolize you spiritually husband (Christ), and you need to call in and submit to Him and His authority and protection of you as He deals with wherever is there. If your husband is with you I honestly believe both are true.
“But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.” ~I Corinthians 11:3 (NKJV)
This is not about control or your prayers not being strong etc. It’s simply about spiritual authority. Just as the head of Christ is God yet in the Trinity they are equal and treat each other with mutual respect, so it is with a husband and wife.
I pray this helps/blesses you! I’m lifting you in prayer this morning from feeding/protection from whatever the event seeks to infiltrate/attack/remove you with. May the Lord lead, protect, and free you!
““The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.” ’” ~Numbers 6:24-26 (NKJV)
