I believe the odd look on your church member’s face represents a distress that she is experiencing. Her smiling represents her trying to not divulge the nature of her distress at church and operating as if everything is alright. The monkey represents the issue or nature of her distress. The fact that the monkey is sitting on her shoulder represents that the animal is domesticated. This means that the nature of her distress is not a distress that is devastating and outside of the bounds of manageability. Also, the animal being positioned on her shoulder represents “burden” since the shoulder area is where oxen typically carry their loads. You noticing this issue symbolizes God making you aware of her distress or issue. You asking her what was wrong and her shaking her head like nothing was wrong represents her hesitancy in disclosing the nature of her issue, which means the issue is a private matter to her. i been having dreams of my mum who has passed and its the same dream over and over with maybe different things happening in it.i remember one of those dreams having a person with a monkey on his shoulder.
