This prophetic word is titled Love is Patient.
1 Corinthians 13:4
Love is patient
Being patient with someone is a sign that you are showing them love. Because love is an action word, it is something you do. Sometimes we need to be patient with ourselves too.
1 Thessalonians 5:14
Brothers and sisters, we urge you to warn those who are disorderly. Comfort the discouraged. Help the weak. Be patient with everyone.
We’re not the same. We don’t process things the same and sometimes it may take us a little longer to change in some areas than others. We need to extend patience to those who are still going through their process.
Galatians 6:9
Let’s not get tired of doing good, because in time we’ll have a harvest if we don’t give up.
We need to be patient to see the promises of God fulfilled. I believe in such a fast paced world where it seems we can get things instantly, we want everything at the same speed. But this is just not possible!
…There’s too much here to read can you put it in a video…..you’re talking too slow in the video, speeds it up…. the video is too long we need shorts or reels…you should really put that information in the first 10 seconds of the shorts…endless scrolling to get the info in 10 seconds.
We’re living in a society that is conditioning us to become impatient. The problem is when you go to meet with the Lord He’s going to talk to you in the way HE wants to talk to you. You may not get a vision (video) and you may have to actually sit there for 2 hours before He speaks one word.
He is not going to speed up His timetable for any of us. We are on HIS time, He is not on ours.
During our seasons of waiting this is when God prunes us. Removes things from us that needs to go so that we can handle the things He has for us with care and from a place of understanding.
Sometimes we can mess up our blessings because we never learnt the lessons we needed to learn before we got it. Then we mismanage and mishandle it and end up right back at the beginning.
Know that as you wait, the Lord is working out something in you. No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly so this tells you that it’s not a good thing for you right now.
James 5:7-8
Therefore, brothers and sisters, you must be patient as you wait for the coming of the Lord. Consider the farmer who waits patiently for the coming of rain in the fall and spring, looking forward to the precious fruit of the earth. 8 You also must wait patiently, strengthening your resolve, because the coming of the Lord is near.
We have to patiently wait for His return.
Ecclesiastes 7:8
Something completed is better than something just begun; patience is better than too much pride.
or as it says in the NIV
The end of a matter is better than its beginning,
and patience is better than pride.
Everyone loves the shiny and new. We love to start something new but as it is in life there comes a point when the shiny and new is not so shiny and new anymore. We can’t just abandon ship when things are not working out the way we want them to or at the speed that we would like. Completing something is better than starting it. We need patience, diligence, the perseverance to keep going when we would just rather throw in the towel and go find the next shiny and new….which eventually becomes not so shiny and new.
Here’s the thing, what you don’t want to do is give up on something that GOD has not given you permission to give up on. That would be pride. And pride comes before the fall. You cannot end something that GOD started. You need permission. If you don’t have permission to abandon that project or that mission or that relationship or whatever it may be, you need to be patient. He who started a good work will complete it. You just need to be patient.
Romans 5:3-5 (AMP)
And not only this, but [with joy] let us exult in our sufferings and rejoice in our hardships, knowing that hardship (distress, pressure, trouble) produces patient endurance; and endurance, proven character (spiritual maturity); and proven character, hope and confident assurance [of eternal salvation]. Such hope [in God’s promises] never disappoints us, because God’s love has been abundantly poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
Yes! Something is happening on the inside of us, in our character as we wait patiently for God to do what only He can do.
2 Peter 3:9
“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” (NIV)
Say what now?
The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.
Because…
Romans 2:4
Do you disregard the riches of His kindness, tolerance, and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness leads you to repentance?
Sometimes He’s giving people an opportunity to repent, them or you.
He STILL loves us even when we get impatient and abandon ship too soon. It’s the story of the prodigal son who thought he knew better wanted his inheritance to do what he wants to do with it only to end up messing up his life and realizing that he should’ve stayed with his family and see it through to the end. Once he realized that he made the mistake, he decides to go back to his father hoping that he will be received even as a servant…
Luke 15:18-20 (NIV)
“ ‘I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.’ So he got up and went to his father.
But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.
Because love is patient.
If you’ve wandered off like the prodigal son, please know that your Heavenly Father is waiting for you to return and He will receive you with wide open arms. He is not slow in fulfilling His promises to you as some people consider slowness. He’s waiting for you to repent so that He could restore you and complete what He has already started.
Blessings!
