InvitadoHello,
I’ve been wanting to write regarding the prayers God has been answering from the fast this year, but I’m overwhelmed by wonder. Some prayers have been answered in the form of “yes.” Some I am still waiting on. Some are in process.
What is blowing my mind more than the yeses are the way he is answering some of my prayers in ways I could have never imagine. Please know some of the ways he is answering are not comfortable by the world’s standards, but they definitely are by God’s standards. Wow. Just wow.
What I believe I am vaguely expressing is that I can see that God is answering many of this year’s prayers from the fast in a deeper way. For instance, I was recently laid off. This is making me manage, or attempt to manage my money better, become creative with left-overs, cook more, eat healthy, read more, learn new things, create a budget, listen to financial podcasts, and more.
I like to look at my prayer list from the fast at least once every couple of weeks to remind myself of what God is or may be doing in my life. One of my requests to God was to become financially responsible and to become a good steward over my finances with bullet points of some of the ways I would like to achieve those things. I also wanted to have time to eat better, cook more, exercise. Nothing like a lay-off to do those things. I will say the lay-off wasn’t a surprise and I was actually excited when it happened because I knew and know God has a plan! In all transparency, I didn’t see God’s creativity in his answers until recently…maybe this week.
Looking at the lay-off again, I prayed to work from home a few times a week also. Well that is happening. It’s allowing me to work on my own projects. Things I have been praying about over many years.
One other thing is that I asked for the motivation to get my passport. I just wanted to have it. No trip planned. Well, guess what? I’ve been invited to teach for three weeks in another country in the fall if enrollment pans out. What’s more motivating than an actual trip that requires a passport. Even if it doesn’t happen, I will have the passport!
I could go on and on. I could share specific prayers he has answered in a way my limited mind had imagined, but what I am in awe of is the way God has answered and is still answering prayers for some of the other requests. Ways that are allowing me to rest, develop new and better habits, strategies, systems, relationships, etc….and if that weren’t enough, I have peace about it all!! Peace that surpasses all understanding. God’s word is true!!
As my eyes have been opening to God’s hand and wonder working power, I think of the following scriptures.
Phil 4:4-9
Isa 55:8-9I hope what I am trying to convey makes sense. I really feel I can explain it the way I am experiencing it. Either way, God has answered and is still answering prayer. I am enjoying seeing the process of answered prayer in my life in this season. To say I am amazed is an understatement. I pray God continue to open my eyes to what he is doing not only for me, but for all of us. He never stops working!
To God be the glory forever and ever. Amen!

KeymasterI love this! And I thank God for opening your eyes to see it too. I believe many of us could miss it when things don’t look the way we think it should. Thank you for sharing this amazing testimony and reminding us of these simple truths. Please feel free to share more testimonies as you have them. This is really encouraging.
Blessings
