I had a dream about an Easter egg hunt involving several people. The event sponsor came forward and announced that eggs were scattered all over the area. Some eggs were gold, others were silver, and some were bright, colorful ones like a rainbow. She explained there were six special eggs with tickets wrapped in ribbons hidden around. If you found one, you’d win whatever was written on the ticket. The sponsor then said, “Ready, set, go!” Everyone rushed in the same direction, but something inside me told me to go the other way and break away from the crowd. I decided to trust that feeling and headed off on my own.
I found plenty of eggs, which I placed in my basket, and eventually came across a set of three bushes. There was something odd about them. I peeked behind the middle bush and found a special egg. I quickly grabbed it and read the ticket attached—it said I had won $250,000. I silently made my way to the small bank on the property to cash it in. The sponsor and her assistant were there. I went up to the teller window with my ticket, and the sponsor handed it to her assistant, who began counting out the $250,000. Once I received the money, I tucked it into a brown bag and placed it in my basket before heading back into the hunt.
As I continued gathering colorful eggs, I came across the set of three bushes again. I paused for a moment, looked around, and then approached them. This time, behind the first bush, I found another special egg with a ticket. I read the ticket, and to my surprise, I had won another $250,000. I kept quiet and made my way back to the bank. This time, when I walked up, there were three men sitting across from the teller. The sponsor noticed me and whispered, “Come quietly and follow me.” I followed her into the banking area, and she handed my ticket to the teller, who began counting out my second prize.
As the teller worked, the three men, all dressed in white, smiled at me and whispered among themselves, as though they were silently giving me their approval. I thought about my book, which I had published two years ago. It was about my life—my struggles with abuse, the masks we wear, and more—but it hadn’t sold well. I had been disappointed because I knew it contained valuable tools and resources to help women. Then, a light bulb moment hit me. I realized that I wasn’t meant to keep this money for myself. I needed to bless others with it.
I added the new money to the bag with the first $250,000 and began thinking of all the people I could help. Just as I was filled with this new purpose, I woke up.
