I had this dream months ago but I’m hoping it will give me some guidance, as I am currently in a very confusing season in my life and not sure what my calling is and what God wants me to do.
Dream:
I am in a big city that I don’t recognize ( which is odd – I’m not the city type and have always lived in small towns and the country) and I’m walking and walking. Going up steps, across bridges, inclines, down sidewalks, parking lots, etc. I believe I even went into some type of nature because there were trees and wooden bridges. I am stopped by different people to talk to them and I don’t remember what was said, they might have needed advice or to just catch up with me. I believe I knew some of them from my past. This part is very blurry and I don’t remember much. I think one girl was from my middle school but I haven’t seen her in over a decade and is not someone that I would want to see again – or any of the people for that matter, I was wanting to keep going.The whole time I feel lost and like I will never arrive. I have the sense like I am taking a backwards C shaped path starting from the bottom and trying to head North to my destination. I get the sense I know where my destination is (but I have no idea what that may be in real life.)
I end up turning around and heading all the way back. This took less time and was pretty fast. I was walking along a sidewalk and stepping into a parking lot and a bunch of cars show up with dark windows so I couldn’t see inside them. The car in front, some man stepped out, or at least it looked like a man and I knew he or it was stopping me from continuing and I got scared of them and woke up.
I know my car was in that parking lot but I never spotted it. However, I know it wasn’t the car I drive now (a regular 4-door car). I got the sense that it was something bigger, like an SUV or truck. And I also knew as soon as I got in the vehicle that it was a straight shot to my destination.

The dream shows/confirms the confusion of not knowing your calling. However, the strategy I see is that you need to go back (either mentally or literally) to a place in your past when you discussed with leaders and they might have provided some input. You are indeed desiring to serve the Lord as you know your destination is North. However, it appears that keys to your answer lies in something that was mentioned to you in the past and you were not ready, sincerely not comprehending, or didn’t want to hear.
Your car/calling is in a “parking lot” and you KNOW it is not what you drive now. There’s your answer, you are not currently doing what you are called to do. You have “parked” your calling and there is confusion/uncertainty. This could be related to a ministry involving others. Go back to what the leaders might have mentioned in the past and bring it to the Lord.Be encouraged and keep seeking the Lord. May the Holy Spirit give you clarity, in Jesus’ Almighty Name I pray.
