In waking life, I’m starting a business with a friend. For the purpose of the dream, we’ll call him X.

In my dream, I’m heading to a hotel where X and I are going to stay. He’s heading there separately. I get there first, get our key, and head up to the room. I take the elevator. The room is 1403 which is on the 14th floor (rooms on every floor start with the floor number).

For some reason (I can’t remember), I go back out. When I try to come back to the room, I try to use the elevator. But now it’s… complicated. It doesn’t seem to want to respond… it goes up to the 11th floor and stops… it goes sideways… (I’m getting more and more anxious)… others get on with an expectation to go down when I still need to go up and so I tell them, “this elevator is going up”. They get mad at that, which makes me feel violated and so I attack them in revenge like “how f***ing dare you treat me as if I’m evil when I only asserted my needs and did absolutely nothing wrong you f***ing demonic pieces of filth” (that’s an understatement; I feel this way in waking life too; this is a real wound, though I never attack people for it). The elevator controls look like a computer monitor and keyboard. They’re so complex and I can’t figure out how to just get it to go UP! I’m now outside the elevator, so stressed that I start crying, and a new lady mentions, “You could just use the stairs.” I’m relieved and a tiny bit embarrassed that I didn’t think of doing that. I head up the stairs and the dream ends.

NOTE: All of this happened before X arrived at the hotel.

As an aside, there’s a theme in many of my dreams over the past few years: trying to get somewhere and nothing works. It’s been cars, or just me walking, but the layout of the roads/buildings and whatever change, and I end up late and lost and stressed and crying. If I recall correctly, this is the first dream of this type where I actually made it to my destination. I also wasn’t late.

I feel this way in waking life: late and lost to …something of utmost importance. I once imagined the blind man outside Jericho crying out with all his strength, only to realize, “He’s gone; I missed my chance”. That’s what it’s like. For as much as God shows up in my life (like the woman in the dream who told me about the stairs), and for as often as I have abundant joy in the knowledge of his presence and his love, I also sometimes feel so utterly abandoned and hated and alone.

So I can interpret the basics of the dream: my insecurities and traumas from waking life are manifesting in the symbolic nature of the dream world. As I’m moving towards my goal of a business, I’ve been running into problems I can’t solve right away and so I’ve been tempted to get really anxious. I also have old trauma this is triggering. That much is obvious.

But why an elevator? (And in previous dreams: Why a car?) Why a hotel? (And in previous dreams: Why a school?) Why the number 1403? Why was I able to get there the first time, but had trouble on the second time? Is there anything I can gain from this dream or is it just a regurgitation of things I already know?

      Hello Kell,

Thank you for sharing your dream with us. Yes, the dream shows some frustration and confusion. Please take everything I share to the Holy Spirit as He Alone gives the accurate interpretation.

Most importantly, here are some rhetorical questions for you “Did you clear go into partnership with X with the Lord?” If so, do you still have trust issues? The venture/adventure appears lavish (hotel but temporary) at first, shooting up (elevator) but will/might end up disorganized (#11th interpretation for this instance). X was not there when all this was happening. God sent someone to give you an alternate solution that will take more work (stairs). It doesn’t appear that your business venture will be long lasting from the dream unless if some precautions are not taken.

I feel like 1403 has double meaning. What came to mind initially for me was, double of 7 (perfection, completion, rest) and the 3- the Triune God. On the positive, it is that you will be successful but you need to be unified with X. I’m not sure if this is more than a business partnership but he might be a man of God sent to you (see Strong’s concordance for the #1403 in both Greek and Hebrew) On the flip/negative side please read Ezekiel 14:03.I think that is a caution for either yourself and/or X.

My suggestion: Make sure that you are both on the same page with the same final destination in mind. Draw up expectations mutually. You didn’t seem in true partnership in the dream.

I pray that the Holy Spirit gives you clarity and the courage to do what He wants you do, in Jesus’s Almighty Name I pray, Amen!

      Shalom!

      Hello Again Kell,

Something crucial that I forgot to mention that I felt the Lord wanted you to do and know was “Take a deep breath” and “Be still and know that I am God.”

I hope that you enjoy the following song (a bonus 🙂
