I am asking for urgent prayer for my sister and her two young sons as they face an incredibly serious legal and spiritual battle. Earlier this year, my sister escaped an abusive marriage in the United Arab Emirates with her boys. She had endured years of abuse, and her sons had also suffered severe physical abuse. During the regional bombings, she found an opportunity to flee to the United States with the boys while her husband, who is a pilot, remained behind. Since arriving here, the transformation in the boys has been remarkable. They are finally experiencing safety, healing, and stability. They are laughing again, thriving, and learning about the love of Jesus. Watching God restore hope in their lives has been an incredible blessing. Now that safety is being threatened. A custody order from the Dubai courts, issued under Sharia law, has been filed with the Maricopa County Superior Court in Arizona. My sister has until August 24 to respond. According to the notice, she must appeal the decision, return to the UAE with the boys, or relinquish the boys so they can be returned to their father. Our family is working tirelessly with legal counsel to fight this case in both the Arizona and Dubai courts. At the same time, we know this is more than a legal battle it is a spiritual one. We are asking believers to pray fervently for God’s protection over my sister and these precious boys. Please pray that the Holy Spirit surrounds them with peace and safety, that God grants wisdom and discernment to every attorney, judge, and official involved, and that the truth is made unmistakably clear. Pray that every plan intended to bring harm is stopped and that God places obstacles before anything that is not according to His will. We are also deeply concerned for my sister’s safety if she is forced to return to the UAE. Given the abuse she has endured and the serious risks she believes she faces there, we are praying that God will continue to be her refuge and protector. Thank you for standing with our family in prayer. We believe God is still a miracle-working God, and we are trusting Him to protect these boys, strengthen their mother, and bring truth and justice to every step of this process.
