Prophetic Word – Rewind

This prophetic word is titled Rewind.

Have you watched a movie and someone interrupts either by calling you on the phone or they walk into the room and start talking and you miss a critical part of the storyline?  Instead of hitting the pause button you kept it playing in the background.  Then you decide that you know enough so you can just keep watching without the very small portion that you just missed.  Except further in the movie you are confused and realize that you must have missed something really important when you got interrupted because now nothing makes sense!  The movie is just not playing out as you thought it should.  It’s confusing!

So there you are Rewinding the movie, hitting the double arrows backwards to get back to the part you missed so that you can recover the part of the story that will clear up the confusion.

You know what?  I honestly believe that we probably need to rewind the tape of our lives and conversations with the Lord a lot more often than we do!

We just plain ole FORGET some important details!  Too much going on, too busy, don’t have the time, partially listened to the instructions, misunderstood the instructions, put meaning to something that didn’t mean that.

And the only time you know you have a problem is when the movie of your life is not playing out the way the Lord told you it would.

You see when you are in the perfect will of God.  It feels like you are being carried by the current of His grace.  Things run smoothly. You still need faith.  You still need to do the things He said.  You still have the warfare.  But you go through things with ease.  Nothing can stop you. It just all falls into place.

Because God’s current is moving you as long as you stay in the center of His will.  You are not worried about anything because you can feel the MOVEMENT.  You don’t even need a paddle because that would be striving and there’s no striving when you are doing things God’s way.

Now imagine you’re moving along and things start to slow down.  It’s moving but not with the ease as it was before.  You would look to investigate it wouldn’t you?

Now you see there is debris in the water, what now?  You can’t fix it because you have no paddle and you are trying to figure out how to get around it.  You pray and you pray and you pray. This can feel like things are just a little “off” in the spirit.  You’re still moving but you know that things are slowing down because there are indications this is happening.

This is how it is with us spiritually when things are good between you and the Lord, it will flow but the minute you go off track watch for the slow down.  Now if you are going through a seasonal change, you can feel the slow down too and then it ramps up again but if you know that you have ALREADY changed seasons this shouldn’t be happening.

What do you do?  Rewind.  Go backwards, where did you start to feel the slow down?  What happened as a result of it?  Why is there debris in the water?  Why didn’t God move it after you prayed? I am in the center of His will so this should not be happening.  There must be a problem.

Shortly the boat is going to hit the debris and then you are STUCK.  You haven’t changed positions, you’re still in the water but now it’s not going as planned.  You know something is off because it will start manifesting in the natural – slow down in your finances, you keep losing people in church or ministry, your relationships have started going sour.  Something is up!

Some of you have been sitting at the debris heap for quite some time now and you don’t know how to get yourself unstuck and this is what the post is about.

I’m convinced the reason Jesus told us to take communion is so that we wouldn’t forget Him!  Because we’re all that good at being amnesiacs!

1 Corinthians 11:24 ESV

And when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”

You take communion so that you don’t forget!  I know you’re thinking, who could forget Jesus?  You.  There are so many times in the Bible when God had to say “Don’t forget about Me”

Deuteronomy 8:11-20

¹¹ “Take care lest you forget the Lord your God by not keeping his commandments and his rules and his statutes, which I command you today, ¹² lest, when you have eaten and are full and have built good houses and live in them, ¹³ and when your herds and flocks multiply and your silver and gold is multiplied and all that you have is multiplied,¹⁴ then your heart be lifted up, and you forget the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery, ¹⁵ who led you through the great and terrifying wilderness, with its fiery serpents and scorpions and thirsty ground where there was no water, who brought you water out of the flinty rock, ¹⁶ who fed you in the wilderness with manna that your fathers did not know, that he might humble you and test you, to do you good in the end. ¹⁷ Beware lest you say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth.’ ¹⁸ You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your fathers, as it is this day. ¹⁹ And if you forget the Lord your God and go after other gods and serve them and worship them, I solemnly warn you today that you shall surely perish. ²⁰ Like the nations that the Lord makes to perish before you, so shall you perish, because you would not obey the voice of the Lord your God.

It is literally in our nature to forget!  You don’t remember nothin’!

So now that you take communion so you don’t forget Christ and what He did for you, what about the rest of your life?  How do you keep track of the important details?  You write it down!  Otherwise, you won’t remember a thing!  That’s why I am always telling you to WRITE IT DOWN!

When God gives us important details we need to always write it down.   And, be sure to put the dates!  With the dates you can see the progression of things.  September 1998. It shows you how long some things take to happen and you can also know when God is really honing your skills with the times and seasons.  This helps to encourage you so that you know how God speaks to you. May 2018 what happened then?  Sometimes He’ll send you back to read and entire year because within that year He was revealing destiny to you and if you wrote it all down when you get stuck, you know why you are stuck because you have documentation on everything.

Habakkuk 2:2

The Lord answered me, “Write down what I show you. Write it clearly on a sign so that the message will be easy to read.

We write it down so that we are clear about how God wants us to do things.  To find how to debris got in the middle of the stream, you have to go back to the beginning of when God told you what He did regarding that thing you are struggling with.

This looks like when He told you to start that business, start that church, buy that house, marry that person, adopt those kids, move to that city, take this job, study this in college but somehow after following all the instructions and things are going according to plan here you are OFF, debris in the middle of the river.  Now you have to figure out how it all went wrong.

How to move the Debris or the obstruction that is in your way

1. REWIND….Open your journal and go back to the beginning of when things were GOOD!  When you received your initial instructions.

2. What was it exactly God told you He was going to do?

3. What role did He ask you to play in it?  Were you supposed to do something?  Did you do it?  I mean exactly as He told you or did you shade outside the lines just a little bit.

Every thing that you neglected to do is adding to the debris pile.  In other words 99.9% of the time it was something you either did or did not do that messed you up.  As soon as you identify what it is, do it! Fix it. Stop it. Get rid of it.

So, what is the .1%?  There are other people involved and they never did their part.  But before you blame anyone else you have to be sure that you have done your part.  God also does not play “tit for tat”, you did this so I did that. You did it first then I did it after.  The minute you engaged in that kind of behavior, you are not winning anything.  You would need to repent, and await further instructions.  Sometimes you may have to ask forgiveness of someone who hurt you first.  It doesn’t feel good but the “tit for tat” will cause God to tell you to do that.

As soon as you follow through and do EXACTLY what He told you to do, that debris vanishes instantly!  And we are BACK Baby!  Honestly, sometimes it is just going back to the spot where you messed up and fixing it.

You are not waiting on Him, He is waiting on YOU.

4.  When the Lord gives me a promise, I always ask, “is there something you need me to do?” and I make sure I write it down so that I can do it because I realize in that moment that this promise is conditional.  It depends on my own obedience.

Sometimes He will tell me “No” then I know I need to rest and wait for Him to deliver what He promised.  There are times when you don’t have what you want because you haven’t done what you were supposed to do.

5. Sometimes you just misunderstood what He said.  This happens more than you know!

Listen brothers and sisters, YOU are not perfect.  I am not perfect. We are a work in progress that means we will make mistakes.

When we mess up we ask the Lord for forgiveness and He’ll forgive us.  He is not holding anything against you if you ask Him to forgive you.  However, sometimes you need to ask the person you wronged for forgiveness too.  This can create a debris in the river and you can’t around it until you have the face to face meeting and ask for forgiveness.  Look at this testimony from our fast in January…

So last night I didn’t have a dream, as listened to the playlist and was in prayer the lord brought forth an abortion I did about 25 years old. In the beginning as I prayed whilst listening to the playlist. I got a feeling of calling on Jesus for help I even cried. When I continued worshipping God I got a word that I needed to say sorry to  the guy whose pregnancy I aborted. I actually never saw need for I had gone before and asked for forgiveness. I wanted to text soon after but thought I will do it in the morning. Surprisingly the gûy called out my name via text and I responded immediately I apologized and this morning we got speak about it openingly. We are now at peace. My interpretation was some decisions invite punishment from God, over looking the guys feelings has delayed my blessings and blinded me to see who he really was and how he felt about it. My stronghold was fear and unforgiveness. I thank God for guiding me to this revelation.

She already asked the Lord for forgiveness and received it but the process was not done until she spoke to this man in person.  The Lord revealed it to her because she knew something was wrong but didn’t know what it was.

By going to your journal and reading you’ll know where things went off track. November 2020 everything was fine, then God tells you to do something and you plan on doing it but your priorities got out of whack and before you know it you completely forgot what the Lord said.  Rewind and get it done.

Each time we get better at detecting when something is off and we fix it quickly we become more in tune with the Holy Spirit.  He’s doing this to train us because there comes a time when your precision could be needed otherwise you could end up in a very bad situation.  Being OFF could be costly!

One of the most reassuring thing in life is that God never forgets

Isaiah 49:15-16 ESV

“Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you. Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me.

He never forgets you, so you should never forget Him either or what He has asked you to do.

Psalm 105:8 ESV

He remembers His covenant forever, the word that He commanded, for a thousand generations,
