I can’t say there is a right or a wrong way to do it. I can only speak from personal experience of reading it for the first time. What I learnt was that I shouldn’t have read all the prophets together. It was just too much for me. Since the Gospels are the same stories from a different disciple those could be used to break up the prophets as well. I left the book of Revelation for last, even after reading the old testament, and this really helped me to understand Revelation much better. I think reading at least one of the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) followed by the book of Acts and then the other books in the New Testament is good because it shows continuity of the scriptures. Likewise, reading Genesis through to Isaiah can be read together to see continuity. Ruth can be read breaking up one of the Prophets because it can stand alone, 1 & 2 Kings and 1 & 2 Chronicles are also similar just told from a North and South perspective so these two (Kings & Chronicles) can be used to break up the prophets. I think just diving in and reading it from cover to cover is the most important thing.

Hi Zee, yes that is very much possible. There are many many instances in the bible of angels talking to people and delivering the prophetic. Mary received news of Jesus’s birth through the angel Gabriel and the same for Elizabeth, John the Baptist’s mother. You should also know that demons can deliver messages as well. So, you would be hoping that the prophet can actually discern if the angel speaking to them is from the Lord. By the way, it has nothing to do with their appearance. The devil himself was beautiful.

Absolutely! 100% You need to start fine tuning your gift. Get a journal and start writing down all your experiences with the Lord the date and time. Then pray and ask Him for scriptures that go with what He’s showing you. If you see the events happen go back into your journal and write what happened and when it happened. This is called stewarding your gift. After you’ve done this for awhile you will begin to get very accurate with your prophecies. Hi Rose, usually when things get foggy you may be letting in too many other voices. I don’t know for sure but pay attention to how much TV, social media, etc. that you are letting in. Also, anoint your head at night and ask the Lord to help you remember your dreams. You have to write down what you remember as soon as you wake up. Even if it is in the middle of the night. Write it down or record it with your voice into your phone. Hope this helps.

Hi Rebecca, yes the following morning you start the process again. So it’s not like you’re ignoring it, you acknowledge it in prayer once per day. The next morning when you wake up if you feel the need to pray about it again go ahead and do it. Only once per day. By day 3-4 you’ll find that you don’t need to pray about it anymore because what is needed to be prayed, has already been prayed. Now let me be clear that I’m referring to things that are not ungodly. This is for things that are quite fine but they have your heart and mind captivated like your financial situation, the desire to have a child, an illness, getting married, etc. Nothing is wrong with any of these it is when they consume our mind and heart that they become idols. Hope that clarifies.

You are correct, and it depends on what the idol is. If it is something that doesn’t affect your day to day life (waiting for a mate, having a baby, dealing with unforgiveness, trusting God for a new home) then yes you can do this all in one day. However, if you are battling chronic pain or a terminal illness and this is what is consuming your mind it is hard to ignore this each day. The pain is there and it is real. In these cases praying about it once a day helps because you know it was addressed. We can’t ignore real issues. Hope that explains it.

Thank you for that, it was a typo! 🙂 Yes, only the Holy Spirit for 2.5 years. After that I got introduced to other intercessory groups and prophets that’s when I ran into all the Jezebels, demonic powers and transference of demonic spirits and bad habits. I’ll talk about this in the next post. This is when I realized the blessing of not having a mentor. Stay in the church where God sends you. You are there for a reason. There are things you need to learn which you wouldn’t have in your old environment. If you learn nothing else you will learn humility and submission to authority which you’ll need to grow spiritually.

So happy to hear it Juvy! You will be able to look back at all the scriptures on spiritual gifts and realize that at one point or another you flowed in all these gifts. When we make ourselves available and allow God to use us as His conduit in the earth all the gifts flow. The key is intercession. As long as we don’t turn any of these gifts into an idol, He gives them to us freely. We don’t collect them or hold them in box like jewelry, they can come and go from one day to the next. And, that’s OK. When I am in a setting with multiple seers, my sight is gone because God doesn’t need yet another seer so then He may turn on the discerning of spirits. Just be available for what He wants. Blessings
