It’s Pentecost 2021. I believe this Pentecost which falls on May 23 will be an extra special one. We have entered our new season, a new decade and with that we need new empowerment.
You need something fresh. I don’t believe you are going to move forward without the new. Consider it an oil change!
To withstand the weightiness of the battles and victories ahead you’re going to need the help of the Holy Spirit. You need direction. With so many conflicting voices, you can’t afford not to have your own word and direction from the Lord. I want to invite you to seek the Holy Spirit this Pentecost.
When we become a born again believer in Christ at that moment we all should receive the Holy Spirit. He is the third Person of the Trinity. Since we received Him when we got saved you may be wondering why we need to receive Him again. Well, I know that is very easy to quench the Holy Spirit (1 Thessalonians 5:19). When this happens we become seared in the spirit to the point we don’t even hear the Holy Spirit anymore when He’s talking to us. So for this weekend I want you to invite Him to speak to you again.
I know we all read Acts 2 or portions of it on Pentecost but I want you to read it again. Look for what happens When the Holy Spirit comes and everything that comes after that.
What happened when He came and what happened as a result of His coming. This will help you to see if the same manifestations are happening in your own life which will let you know He is actually there. Read Acts 2
I’ve gone through this scripture and highlighted a few things that jumped out at me. The first two points are the instructions from Jesus in Acts 1 before the Holy Spirit came.
1 Acts 1:4 Jesus told them to wait for this “Gift”. This word is crucial because you can’t give yourself a gift, it is something you receive. You can also reject a gift. If it is a gift you are not paying for it. This is free. To receive the Holy Spirit is a choice you need to make first, then you wait, then you receive.
2 From Jesus’ ascension to when the Holy Spirit came in the Upper Room is said to be 7 – 10 days. Therefore, sometimes when you sit quietly praying and waiting on the Lord keep in mind that it may take some days before the Holy Spirit shows. Or, it may not.
3 The posture of waiting is important, unified if it’s more than one person, prayer, worshiping and expectation. They were not sitting there saying “maybe He will show up” No, they were SURE He was coming. You need to expect Him to show up.
4. When the Holy Spirit came He divided Himself and rested upon each one which shows that He is omnipresent. That’s how He is able to fill believers all over the world at the same time and work giftings through all at the same time. Selah. If that doesn’t blow your mind nothing will.
5 They heard Him enter and then they saw the manifestation with their eyes. Then they began to manifest what they saw. If anyone tells you the Holy Spirit doesn’t have a manifestation, that is not true. In the simpliest of terms, YOU are the manifestation of the Holy Spirit. When there is change in your life and it was not done through human effort or striving but by supernatural power, that’s the manifestation of the Holy Spirit. So, I don’t want you to be afraid or think this is some “woo woo spirit” that is there to scare you. HE is a gentleman so you will not see Him manifested in a form that is going to scare and terrify you. He will not show up where He’s not welcomed and invited. He’s gentle.

Do a word search in the Names of God Bible for Ruach. These are different manifestations of God’s Spirit. It’s the same spirit but the different manifestations have different names.
The scripture in Acts 2 says this was the HOLY Spirit. This is from the Greek Hagios which means Holy, Set Apart By God, Sacred
40 hágios – properly, different (unlike), other (“otherness“), holy; for the believer,(hágios) means “likeness of nature with the Lord” because “different from the world.”
In the old Testament the Hebrew for Holy Spirit is Ruach Qodesh.
Not to be confused with the Spirit of God that hovered over the waters at creation (Genesis 1:2). Same Spirit. Different Manifestation. There was no need to “Set Apart” at creation. So the Spirit is Ruach Elohim that hovered over the waters. Since Elohim is the three in one Creator God, that Spirit was the Spirit of Creator God. Because They were in creation mode.
So, this Pentecost you need the HOLY Spirit to set you apart as a special utensil to be used by God (2 Timothy 2:20-21)
When people look at you don’t you want them to say “this one is different from the world”
This father is not like the other fathers.
This mother is unlike the others.
This church is not like the other churches.
This prophet is not like the other prophets. They don’t have that compromising spirit on them.
Set Apart. For such a time as this. Holy.
In this new era of the church, God is using the set apart ones.
6 The Passion Translation says… v. 3 “It separated into tongues of fire that engulfed each one of them.” Complete saturation in the Holy Spirit. Please note they set themself apart physically by being together in the Upper Room and then the Holy Spirit came and set them apart for His purpose, in the spirit. Hallelujah!
7 They were filled and equipped for the work of the Kingdom. If you are going to do anything for the Lord you need to be equipped.
8 They spoke in other tongues. I want to clarify that the tongues they spoke here were known tongues/languages of the people in the region
verse 8 “So how is it that we hear them speaking in our own languages? 9 We are northeastern Iranians,northwestern Iranians, Elamites, and those from Mesopotamia,Judea, east central Turkey, the coastal areas of the Black Sea, Asia, 10 north central Turkey,southern Turkey, Egypt, Libyans who are neighbors of Cyrene, visitors from all over the Roman Empire, both Jews and converts to Judaism, Cretans and Arabs. 11 Yet we hear them speaking of God’s mighty wonders in our own dialects!” 12 They all stood there, dumbfounded and astonished, saying to one another, “What is this phenomenon?”
I am thinking that when the disciples were speaking perhaps they were thinking and speaking in Hebrew but when it went out of the message was received in the language that the hearer needed to hear it.
Why did the Holy Spirit do this? It was time to grow the church. They needed to speak these languages to lead others to Jesus so He gave them what they needed to get the job done.
Where God guides, He provides
The Lord knows exactly what you need to move ahead this year. Go, sit, worship, pray, wait for the Holy Spirit empowerment before you move forward.
The disciples did not ask for this. God gave them what they needed. Is it possible you don’t even know what you need to get the job done? How about this simple prayer
Holy Spirit, fill me and empower me, give me what I need to get the job done. To build the Kingdom. To build this business. To start this church. To reach the nations. To raise my children. To manage this job.
Remember He is the Ephesians 3:20 God, so He is able to do what you don’t even know He can do.
9 They were given gifts and supernatural abilities. They spoke in other languages, they preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ. So we see the prophetic and the evangelist gift came forth. They were operating in signs, wonders and miracles. All nine gifts of the Holy Spirit were in operation and manifested through them..
10 They didn’t need to twist anyone’s arm to have them receive Christ because it was the Holy Spirit doing it through them. This was done with ease. No striving. God can actually remove all the hard work
38 Peter replied, “Repent and return to God, and each one of you must be baptized in the name of Jesus, the Anointed One, to have your sins removed. Then you may take hold of the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For God’s promise of the Holy Spirit is for you and your families, for those yet to be born and for everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.”
40 Peter preached to them and warned them with these words: “Be rescued from the wayward and perverse culture of this world!”
11 It says in verse 41 that 3,000 people became believers that day. They went from sitting in the upper room to having a mega church! MY GOODNESS! Sweat-less victory!!! Don’t ever think that God can’t do the impossible overnight. Especially when they didn’t even speak the language of those 10 countries in the natural! How amazing is that? When you are aligned with God’s will anything is possible!
12 They were unified. They came together in prayer. A spirit of generosity was among them. They took communion everyday. God’s favor was upon them. God blessed them.
13 They had an anointing to multiply.
Question? Does this sound like something you need right now? Let’s go! We are in the season of Pentecost. You can do this at anytime but I do believe the Kairos of God is upon us with this one.
If you wandered away from God, seared the Holy Spirit and you need to come back in communion with Him all you have to do is repent. Ask Him to forgive you. Start fresh today. Sit, pray, worship, and ask Him for the gift of the Holy Spirit. Tell Him you don’t want to move forward without His filling and empowerment.
Holy Spirit, fall afresh on me. Put a crown of Holy fire upon my head. Set me apart for the work of Your Kingdom. Manifest through me, in Jesus name, Amen!

This is so beautiful to me! I sense that over this past year I have been awakening to the Holy Spirit. It seems I have throughout my life pushed down the rising up of the Holy Spirit within me. Something you said to me in another comment on another post, “Don’t try to fit in”……that keeps resurfacing in my mind. Many moments I have felt so free and excited about what God has for me in life, then the enemy would shame me and take that freedom away. God has continued to be faithful and pursue me…He always does. Even when I haven’t been faithful in seeking. I can look back and see His Mighty Hand rescuing me time and time again….I want to share something beautiful in my life….. I went to a church for about 4 years in a state I used to live in. I hated going and felt so out of place, yet I was trying to not be judgemental. There were things I didn’t agree with, but I was trying to keep humble. It got so bad, I would cry on my way to church each week. I love the Lord, so this is so difficult for me to not belong. Yet, God showed up for me here too. This church is not Charismatic. Yet there was one young lady who would dance in worship. The first time I saw this, I started sobbing. It broke me, for what I saw, was what I so longed to do, yet I could not. The yearning in my soul was so strong. She had freedom that I did not have. Fast forward to today, maybe 3 or 4 years after that….I again attend a church I don’t feel like I fit in. I was at home for all of 2020 during the pandemic because I am unable to wear a mask for long periods of time and the church had a mask policy. God showed up for me in the most beautiful way ever. There was a beautiful purpose in it all. I went through so many emotions, so much not understanding. I leaned into God, soaked up His Word and He revealed so much to me about His plan in my life, in this world. He has been showing me a paradigm with this world today and the journey of the Israelites. It has been overwhelming and amazing. He has shown me His purposes in me. So in 2021, when the mask mandate was over in our city, I went back to the church I attend, knowing that His church is not in a building, but of all people all over the world. I now sense I am a part of His church, this beautiful church connected by His Holy Spirit. I have seen Him connect me to others by the Holy Spirit. He continues to move me forward. Back to this church, the first day back, I’m walking out of what I call Lockdown with My Lord. I have always disliked the worship part of a service and I wasn’t sure why until this moment….I have been walking in fear of man and keeping the welling up of the Holy Spirit within me down. For the first time, I worshipped the Lord in freedom. It is most different from all those around me, whom in my mind seem to be captives. I raised my arms in worship and my arms danced. Towards the end I felt like the Holy Spirit was taking over, then the music stopped. I cried, I laughed, I kneeled in worship. Now I look forward to worship. The fear of man is slipping away. I have a vision of dancing and others joining me in worship of God. I see them in my mind’s eye, following in the same steps as I am allowing the Holy Spirit to lead me. So when I watched this video you shared, I wept again. I have not been a part of a moment like that, and yet my Spirit resonates that is the atmosphere I belong in. It led me to dancing in my living room. A little concerned about what my children would think and what my husband would think. Yet, begging God to help me get beyond that fear of man. I beg the Holy Spirit to help me walk in His lead and let everything else go. I don’t want to waver and the moments I walk with the Holy Spirit are moments I never want to end. There is freedom in it, I know this is how people will be set free. Please pray for me to never say no to the Holy Spirit. I don’t want to be a slave to the fear of man. I want to fulfill my purpose in setting the captives free. I praise God for this ministry. He is so good, He is so beautiful. There is nothing in this world like our God!!!!!
This is so beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing. There is freedom in the Spirit and movement. The problem is that there are a lot of Christians who can only picture Jesus with thorns on his head stretched out on the cross. They don’t have another picture of Jesus. They can’t see Him full of joy, laughing and dancing. Enjoy your freedom. Perhaps your first step will be dancing in the back of the church so that you won’t distract anyone since they are not used to it. Keep going!!! Blessings
Yes! I sit in the back, and I haven’t broken out into full dance. I’m trying to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit and learning about the authority of the church. They are open to different views. I don’t sense that it will be my home church, but that there is a purpose for our presence there. I am seeing God’s movement come out of my open brokenness. I’ve had people come up to me after things and thank me for my questions or tell me they can see my love for the Lord. I felt it was much like your brown package post. I was stepping through fear in a certain circumstance and I thought I looked like a basket case and then had people tell me a week or so later that it really affected them. So I see God working through my weaknesses and obedience in a quiet way that seems to be invisibly spreading to minimize warfare for me and to teach me levels of humility. Even when I go to a fast food restaurant and wait in the parking lot for curbside delivery, people are opening up to me like I’m trustworthy and I add then to my prayer list. There is so much I see God has done and is doing in me and through me. It’s so beautiful. God has definitely been using this ministry as confirmation for so many things for me. It is so helpful to see others that walk in this way and are being shown the same things I am being shown. All glory to God!

Thank you for this word. We all need to hear and obey the leading of the Holy Spirit and my heart yearns for both believers and unbelievers who may be searching, lost, or apathetic at this time. The following prayer you shared :
“Holy Spirit, fill me and empower me, give me what I need to get the job done. To build the Kingdom. To build this business. To start this church. To reach the nations. To raise my children. To manage this job” is cogent!
I am reminded of a dream that I had on April 29, 2021, which gives me hope that the Holy Spirit is moving and a revival is at hand or has begun .
April 29, 2021 Title: Rolling Waves of Fire Approaching
“I was outside with a group of people. The scenery looked like a beach, sandy with some water. Someone described how the sky was reflecting in the water. It looked amazing.
I decided to look beyond the main attraction and noticed that there was a rolling wave(s) of fire coming toward houses. No one seemed to see it, but myself. I felt the urgent task to try to alert Mum and Dad and other people in buildings to quickly start the evacuation process.”
Interpretation: The first part of the dream gave me peace. I felt that the beach represents man (sand) meeting God (water). The reflection of the sky in the water was an analogy of God’s Will in heaven being done on earth. This ushered in the rolls of fire which I thought initially was danger/judgement, but now feel like it might be a revival of some sort as well. I did note that the body of water was small and could represent that the Holy Spirit was not in abundance. I see the Holy Spirit manifesting as water and fire in my dream similar to the different facets of the Holy Spirit as you were talking about in this word.
Either way, I believe that a revival is coming, but I also fear an Amos 8:11 moment may be approaching as well, hence the need to really be in tune with the Holy Spirit. I pray that we do not quench or grieve Him with His Help and may that be our prayer this Pentecost and forever, in our Lord Jesus’ Almighty Name, I pray, Amen!

This is the Word for this hour! I was at this exact point yesterday morning but Missionaries of Prayer’s book, How Does God Speak to Us, had just arrived in the mail. I found my way home in prayer this morning! The joy and peace are coming to us in an extra powerful way direct from the Holy Spirit. He is here!
This is such an ontime word. I was at this point last night worshipping and crying out to the Lord for a fresh fire. There is this intense burning within me to go deeper and be endowed with the power of the Holy Spirit on a greater level. I don’t want to move unless I hear from him. I have to know what is his will and desire in this season, what is on his heart.
