Rosh Hashanah – Feast of Trumpets

This weekend is Rosh Hashanah which is the Hebrew New Year.  We enter 5781 on September 18 – 20.  It is the month of Tishrei.  I have a prophetic word for 5781 and it’s a bit long because it is for the entire year so I may need to break it into 2 – 3 parts.  I’ll post that soon.

In this post I want to talk about the Rosh Hashanah – Feast of Trumpets, what it signifies and what I believe God is saying to His church through this today.

We see the Feast of Trumpets being instituted

Leviticus 23:23-25
Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a sabbath-rest, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work on it; and you shall offer an offering made by fire to the LORD.'”

So imagine that they all get together, blow the trumpet but not for battle but to stand in a holy convocation, reflect and rest.  Today on Rosh Hashanah there is not just one trumpet blast but 100! Each one depending on the length and tone signifies something different. Imagine a whole feast just to blow the trumpet.  Isn’t that interesting?  I think over the course of time they would begin to know the SOUND associated with each trumpet blast.  What it means and what they were being called to do

Would you know the SOUND in the spiritual realm if God was trying to get your attention? We have the Holy Spirit so we should be able to hear when an alarm is being sound and know how to respond.

Prayer:  Holy Spirit, make us attentive in this season to Your voice.  Let us know the sound in our spirit so that we may respond in the appropriate way to the way You are calling us to attention, in Jesus name, Amen

This year, 5781, more than the ones that came before seems very significant to me.  I guess it is because of what we are experiencing in our world now I have this quietness in my spirit at the turn of this year.  Almost like a watchfulness, looking to see what the Lord will do next.

As I studied out the word trumpets, here is what I found.

Trumpets are used to direct God’s people (Numbers 10:5-6)

Trumpets are used to announce the coming of the Lord (1 Thessalonians 4:1-18, Matthew 24:30-31)

Trumpets are weapons of war (Joshua 6:20)

Trumpets are used to call the people’s attention (Numbers 10:2)

Trumpets are used when the Lord returns (1 Corinthians 15:50-54)

Trumpets are used to warn the people of the enemies approach (Numbers 10:9)

Trumpets are used to tell of impending judgement (Joel 2:1-2)

Trumpets are used in times of joy (Numbers 10:9)

But here was the most beautiful one,

Numbers 10:9

“The trumpets will remind your God of His covenant with you. I am the Lord your God.”

Needlesstosay, after reading all of this I couldn’t help but think that He’ll probably return at the Feast of Trumpets.  I’m not saying this one but whenever that time comes it will probably be on the Feast of Trumpets.  Because the trumpets announce His return.  And isn’t it interesting that this feast takes place at the turn of the year?  It’s like we turn another page in the book,  moving one step closer to His return.

The bottom line is, trumpets announce things.  It is the moment to pay attention because an announcement is about to be made and you need to respond appropriately depending on what will be announced.

He’s asking us to pay attention.

Before Gideon went into battle he had 32,000 men and God needed to reduce that number so as a part of His final decision on who would go into war, he looked at how they drank water.  The ones who looked down and were on their knees were sent home but the ones who drank looking/watching while they drank were selected.  They were given trumpets!  It is ok to stop for a drink but you must still be watchful. (Judges 7:1-8)

I also can’t help but reflect on the fact that this year for Passover we were all in a lockdown, including Israel, and then again for Feast of Trumpets, Israel is yet in another lockdown.  All while the Abraham Accord is being signed.  Hmmm

Immediately following this weekend we go into a 10 Day period of repentance in preparation for Yom Kippur.  This period is called The Days of Awe. Through repentance we clean the slate with God and He is able to reveal so much more to us.  If you want to join in on that here is some information on repentance

Rosh Hashanah Trumpet blasts

The Tekiah – is a long, single blast. It was straight, plain, smooth, continuous note and it is to symbolize the expression of joy and contentment.

The Shevarim – is three short blasts. A combination of three broken notes to symbolize weeping.

The Truah – Extremely short blasts which are a combination of nine staccato notes in a very quick succession of short trill.  This symbolizes trepidation, sorrow and sobbing.

The Tekiah Gedolah – Means “the last trump.”  This one symbolizes the hope of redemption.  It is a very  long, final note. – In these one hundred blasts, the first of three categories are combined back and forth until there is a total of 99 sounds.  Then comes the 100th, the Tekiah Gedolah, a very long-sustained note – as long as the trumpeter had breath to hold it, and this is known as “the last trump.”  That will become very significant when the Messianic Implications of this particular festival are discussed. While we don’t know when Christ will return in the flesh, if you feel that you have strayed away from the Lord when you listen to the blast of the shofar ask Him to return to your heart.

‘Shana Tova!

I’m really giving God thanks and praise for this Ministry!!!
I’m gaining ground MOP!!! That prophetic word on HOPE!!!

The Holy Spirit is with us all the way, He is just silent most of the times. I have absolutely no idea what He is doing, but this new anointing is different: I was in prayer for 5 1/2 hours, 3 hours of which was to some sort of tune in the form of a song! There was no power rush, just calmness.
All we have to do is trust Him and follow Him through the gruelling trial.

MOP, I’m pumping in some prayers into this Ministry; hoping I’ll soon be able to send in my Tithes/Offering.
    God bless you richly!!!

“Your repentance is yours, My repentance is mine.” I don’t know why he owned the second part of the message.
This was after i offered some prayers for My daughter.!
