Prophetic Word for May and June 2018 – Iyyar and Sivan
This is the prophetic word for May, the Hebrew month of Iyyar which goes through to May 14 and then May 15th Sivan begins.
The connection (vav) is important. The Hebrew letter is like a pin that is used to connect the trains of a car together.
Passover happens in the month of Nisan it is when the Israelites leave Egypt and they are in the wilderness heading to the Promise land. Iyyar which is the month following Nisan is the transitional season. The connection, when done correctly leads you into your Promise land!
We serve such a merciful God in that when we miss the connection He brings it around again at another time. Think about it, the journey should have taken the Israelites 11 days but instead it took 40 years!! (Deuteronomy 1:2) This means God kept bringing them around to cross over time and time again. And, He does the same with us today. If you missed it last year He brings it around again and gives you the opportunity to move into your promise. The Lord is truly long suffering with us (Jeremiah 15:15).
With the Israelites He eventually had to weed out the ones that grumbled, complained and had so much unbelief that they couldn’t lay hold of the promise. God’s plan is on a timeline so He will move forward at some point.
Numbers 14:28-30 (NIV) “As surely as I live, declares the Lord, I will do to you the very thing I heard you say: In this wilderness your bodies will fall—every one of you twenty years old or more who was counted in the census and who has grumbled against me. Not one of you will enter the land I swore with uplifted hand to make your home, except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.”
#1 – No grumbling, complaining and unbelief enters the Promise Land
If only the ones 20 years and under entered that means these were the “wilderness children” they were born in the wilderness because the Israelites wondered for 40 years. Let’s think about what would make them different.
- They have nothing to compare with their present situation. No memories of Egypt. They were born in the wilderness therefore, anything better than wilderness is an upgrade. They were hopeful for a better future.
- All they know is following God, pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. They had no other choice but to follow.
- They can’t complain about Manna because that’s all they know. God is their source.
- Here’s a curious thought remember their shoes and clothes did not wear out (Deuteronomy 29:5) so where did the new shoes and clothes come from for the children that were born in the wilderness? I think there were more miracles being performed on a daily basis than we read about. Therefore, the wilderness children believed in MIRACLES.
So what happened to the wilderness children 39 years old to 21? They died too. I believe the influence of the parents was too much. Actually if you think about it, at 20 years and under they could technically be the grandchildren or great grandchildren of some of the original Israelites who left Egypt.
So that first group of children probably sat around everyday listening to the good ole days in Egypt from their parents. We see this same thing played out in our society today. Why is racism and bigotry still so rampant? Kids only know what you teach them. There is no frame of reference unless you are taught or you’ve seen it or lived it yourself.
What we teach our children can determine if they will ever walk into the promises that God has for them.
Have you ever been around someone that lives in their past? They constantly refer to times when they were successful. Sometimes they are completely oblivious that it’s been 30 years and they are still stuck comparing today with 30 years ago. Some even have clothes from years ago sitting in their closet. When we hang on to the past it is a sign that we find no joy in our present and we have no hope for a better future.
Your latter years will certainly be greater than your former (Job 42:12).
Move on. Move forward. Your successes of today and the future are going to look completely different from the past. But they can be better if you open your heart to something new. Embrace the new. Let go of the past. Cross over this time.
Sometimes I think people hang on to the past because they are confused about the word restoration. They stay stuck because they think God is going to restore the same thing that they lost when in fact the restoration is coming with something completely NEW. Job got double for his trouble and was restored but he get back the same kids? No. Did he get the same livestock? No. Everything was new. Selah.
#2 Believe in Miracles
You know, there are people who don’t believe that God performs miracles today as He did back in the Old Testament? But, He does! He doesn’t change. He can turn a situation around in minutes. You just need to believe. Hold on to your prophetic promises.
Luke 1:37 (NIV) “For no word from God will ever fail.”
That means, if He said it…won’t he do it?? Yeah! Don’t let go of what the Lord has told you. None of His promises will fall to the ground. They are good as gold! Don’t abandon ship. Believe. Trust. Have Faith. Have Hope.
He is still very much in the miracle working business. (Malachi 3:6) “I the Lord do not change…”
#3 Water your prophetic word with Word
Did you read the prophetic word for 2018? You can read it here and some of this word has already been fulfilled.
How do you water the prophetic word with the word? You speak the scripture over it. Plants will die if you don’t water them. So you need to water your prophetic word with the Word.
This scripture refers to husbands making their wives holy by washing her in the word, with scripture.
Ephesians 5:26-27 (NIV) “to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.”
We know that we are also the bride of Christ and He, as our husband, washes us in His word.
Water is also a sign of the Holy Spirit
John 7:37-39 (NIV) “On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.”
Do you pray in tongues? Then pray in tongues over your prophetic word. If you don’t pray in tongues, pray the scriptures.
Remember that the Feast of Weeks ushers in Pentecost, this is when the Holy Spirit fell on the disciples in the upper room. So this is a timely word.
To give you an example of how this is done, let’s say that you are terminally ill but God gave you a word that you will be healed. Every morning when you wake up you should already have a list of healing scriptures so you are going to speak the word over yourself. It doesn’t matter if you feel like it or not. If you are too weak to do it then ask someone to come to your room and read those scriptures over you. This is how you water your prophetic word with the Word. If you do this daily you will see how quickly your prophetic word springs forth.
Death and Life are in the power of the tongue and those who love it will eat it’s fruit (Proverbs 18:21)
So you have a choice to make about moving forward, you can either use your tongue to speak doubt, unbelief or to grumble and complain and reap the fruit of death or you can speak God’s word and promise and reap the fruit of life.
Counting the Omer
From the 2nd night of Passover until the night before Shavuot/Feast of Weeks (49 days) the Jews count the Omer (Leviticus 23:15-17). These are special prayers/blessings spoken daily for 7 weeks. At the end of the 7 weeks is when the Torah was given.
The counting of the Omer is a time of introspection. Self examination to see what areas you need God to clean up in preparation for what comes next. It is time for improvement – going from glory to glory. God never intended for us to stay stuck or stagnant in our walk with Him.
Am I telling you to count the Omer? No. What I am saying is that we can glean something from the principles that are used in this practice.
This is the month that connects Passover with Pentecost. As we wait for Pentecost we should be doing some self inspection.
Iyyar is also the month associated with the tribe of Isaachar. This is the tribe that understood the times and seasons of the Lord (1 Chronicles 12:32). As a matter of fact, the Hebraic Calendar came from this tribe. They understood that God works in cycles and there was a time to advance and a time to wait. This is so important today because we need to understand God’s timing on the prophetic words that we receive.
***side note***I feel like I need to do a series on the prophetic, what it is, how to understand the timing of your prophetic words? what happens when the word doesn’t come to pass? how to identify a false prophet, etc. Would you be interested in learning more about this? If yes, put it in the comments below.
The month of Iyyar is the month when God revealed Himself as the healer. So this is the month to press in for your healing – spiritual, physical, mental, emotional (Exodus 15:26).
Warning for this month
You know, when God’s people are on the move and in transition the enemy is always lurking to spoil & steal the blessing so here’s what you need to be aware of. I can say that this is something you need to watch over the next 3 – 4 months as you transition into your new season.
For those of you that are prone to carnality, you will be a very easy target – hot temper, anger issues, blatant sin, illegal dealings, living a lifestyle that is not godly. Yes, there will be a slew of temptations and if you touch it, you will have go around the mountain again. The accuser of the brethren can’t wait to get before the Lord and say “see, they are not ready for the blessing they have so much more to learn”. If you need to fast to work through some of the things you are struggling with then go ahead and do that. If there are a lot of things you are struggling with, just ask God to show you the one area that you need to work on and start with that. He will see that you are trying to lead a different life and give you grace and mercy to cross over. Pray that His Holy Spirit will give you the grace you need to stay on track.
(1 Corinthians 10:13) “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”
This would not be the time or season for you to excuse your sin. God’s word says He will provide a way out for you so when temptation comes knocking. All you need to do is pray and ask the Lord to show you the way out. This is how you handle it.
For the Christians who are leading a somewhat holy life, the enemy already knows that he can’t get you to sin like that so he’s coming in another way. Bible quoting, tongue speaking, Wolves in sheep clothing. Ishmael’s posing as Isaac. Saul’s pretending to be David. Jezebels that look like Ruth! It will look so much like the real thing until you realize it is not! Do your homework, leave no stone unturned. Find out everything about everything before you sign on the dotted line. Do your due diligence.
Proverbs 11:14 (NKJV) “Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude of counselors there is safety.”
Watch for people that are too eager to connect with you and work on very tight deadlines that must be met – now, now, now! They want to close the deal really quickly. Especially if these decisions have long term life changing consequences, be sure that it is God. Watch and pray. Go seek counsel from other older wiser Christians. And, wait. Time reveals all wolves.
I have a term that I use for these types of attacks, I call them “spiritual hijackers”. Most of the time we have an idea of our destiny but the truth is we don’t have the finer details. The Lord generally keeps this concealed so that the enemy really does not know how God will do what He will do to propel you into your destiny. The enemy may have an idea of where you’re going but he doesn’t know how. God often keeps it concealed from us until the last minute when you find out and move into position. So here’s how the spiritual hijacking occurs – someone shows up as start walking out your destiny, they appear to be going along the same path. They have the same vision and the ability to help you with the vision. Except it is not from God. Their only goal is to derail you. Hijack your destiny.
Now you assume, because it sounds EXACTLY like what you need to get to the next step, it must be God. You then let the person into your life and start taking advice and counsel from them only to find out, after you’ve signed on the dotted line, that the whole thing was a fraud.
Did you sin? No. You boarded a plane from Los Angeles heading to New York and assumed that everyone else on that plane was on the same path. Once the plane is in the air the hijacker decides to divert the plan to another location. You are now completely out of control and at their mercy.
Spiritually that is exactly how it occurs. Make sure you know who is on that plane with you. Who are you aligned with?
You are more vulnerable and prone for attacks during seasons of transition.
This is so critical for this season for 2 reasons. If you think of the fact that Billy Graham just passed away plus Barbara Bush there are many mantles being released this season. For big callings and ministry. I believe that these 2 people passing released many others, and not just 2, to replace them.
The enemy knows this as well and so he needs to stop those who are destined to step into this. I believe the steps are going to be few and one step could accelerate you 7 years ahead. What would have taken 7 years will be done in 7 months. Giant moves to get into position.
Therefore, being on guard for these spiritual hijacking is critical. I also believe that there many who will be stepping into these shoes don’t even know at this time that they are one of the chosen ones to take over this role.
The birth of the nation of Israel is May 14th. This year they will be 70 years old. The number 70 signifies the transference of God’s spirit, increase, multitude and restoration. This is a big year! Do you think it is a coincidence that Israel is 70 which is God transferring His spirit at the same time we are going into Pentacost? No, it is significant. Do you think it is a coincidence that the US Embassy gets moved into Jerusalem on the 70th year? No. It is God’s providence. His perfect timing.
Things are lining up just the same for you. Doors are going to start opening rapidly!! Opportunities will be everywhere. Be prayerful in what you accept. Pace yourself because you won’t have much time to do other things. Use your time wisely.
June – Sivan is the month for business. So many business opportunities will be coming your way.
As you approach these doors you need to be very strategic in your approach and thinking. What I mean by that is that you need to look beyond the door that is being opened to you because some of these doors are going to be doors that lead to other doors. You have to focus on your destiny and the vision that God gave you as you make decisions.
E.g. if you get 2 job offers one may pay much less than the others but if the one with the lower wage creates more opportunities for you in the end, that’s the direction you want to move in.
Don’t just jumped at the one that looks the best pray it through and think strategic. Your prayer partner can agree with you in prayer but the strategist of your life is you. Every decision you make in this season is important. Some of these doors have nothing beyond the door – they are a dead end a brick wall that leads to nothing. However, the
Doors that God opens for you are doors that lead to other doors. Think long term.
Here’s a prayer for you…
Jehovah Rohi, you see all and you know all. Thank you for the cleansing that is happening in my life for the remainder of May. Continue to prepare me for the doors that are opening to me in this season. Make me as wise as a serpent but as gentle as a dove. Open my eyes to any deception. Lay plain before my eyes the traps the enemy has set for me so that I may not fall into any of them. Grant a discerning spirit so that I will know truth from error and be able to tell the right way opposed to the wrong way. Make me aware of anyone that is being sent to hijack my destiny. Thank you for the open doors. May I glorify you in all the I do and steward correctly the blessings that you are giving me, in Jesus name. Amen.
God Bless you.
