The following prayers are for you to pray for restoration of your marriage and also a prayer that you can pray to restore the marriage of others.
As Christians we go through difficult times in our marriages much like the unsaved world. However the one thing we have is our Savior Jesus Christ whom we go to with our marriage restoration prayers.
He is waiting on us to come to Him and allow Him to work in our lives. The word of God says “Whom God has joined together let no man put asunder”. Therefore, it is His will that your marriage should work. When you go to Him in prayer keep this in mind so that you do not doubt that this is His will for your life.
There are times when even after you’re prayed these prayers for restoration of your marriage it still does not get restored. Well, there are several things you need to keep in mind:
- Are you both saved? If not then you need to look at the Prayer of Salvation also know as the Sinners Prayer
- God wants what is best for both of you so you need to be open to where He will lead you. You should both be praying through this process and confessing your sins so that there is nothing standing in the way of your answered prayers.

Lord, I come in the name of Jesus asking that you to make a way in this wilderness of healing and restoration for ________ (name of wife & husband) in their marriage. Your words are trustworthy, and you have promised these good things to me. You have said that You will build a home for them and that it pleases You to bless their marriage so it will continue before You forever. You have spoken, and with your blessing, this home and marriage will be established with blessings forever. II Samuel 7:25-29
Lord, I pray that you will allow healing and reconciliation to take place. That whatever hurts or disappointments they have experienced can be mended through the power of your undying eternal Love. We realize Father that they cannot change anything that has happened. But, they can go forth together keeping, renewing and once again honoring their vows. We ask that you endow them with wisdom to endure and a tongue that speaks healing, restoration & peace.
Abba, I ask that you would mend their hearts closely together and be the center of their marriage. Lord we ask that they seek forgiveness for any wrong doing. We pray that they extend love and patience to one another and that the lines of communication, sensitivity as well as understanding are once again opened. We ask that you will allow all the pain, hurt and disappointment to begin to subside. Lord we ask that forgiveness is welcomed by each of them. Lord we ask that you would allow your JOY to flow once again from heart to heart between them. Father we ask that you direct them as they seek you first in building trust, transparency and intimacy. Father we pray peace over their household, in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Almighty Father, You are omniscient, omnipotent and able to do things that are impossible for man. I humble myself before you today Lord and ask you to restore my marriage. Please bring my wife/husband back to me so that we can fulfill Your word that those whom You have joined together let no man put asunder. Forgive me for my part of sin in this separation and show me what I need to do to restore my relationship with You and my relationship with her/him. I Pray, O Lord, to reunite us in Jesus name. My husband and I are physically separated due to him speaking it several times the power of the tongue but I walked away from him starting adultery by him texting another woman for relief of the pressures of home he said but I believe it’s the lack of trust & wavering commitment to Christ. Please pray for me that my husband Steven heart would softened toward me seek & trust Christ first and then come back and cleave to his covenant wife!

My husband filed for divorce over a week ago. He goes out almost every night and sometimes does not return. He continues to deniey that he is having an affair but I have seen and overheard conversations he has had with several woman in the last month but I believe that he is currently seeing only one woman. I pray that everyone’s marriage be restored just have faith and will be.
It is God’s desire for marriages be for a lifetime and if a spouse divorces you must reconcile to your spouse or stay single and serve the Almighty alone. So have patience cause His words do not come back to Him empty. Pray and get yourself right and with God and don’t focus on your spouse anymore. Once God is in control he will fix everything. When we doubt Him and try to take matters into our hand he will leave us to do what we want cause we took control from Him. Our God always does things on time and right. Listen to hymns and surround yourself with people who are not doubting Thomas’s. The devil will send people in your life to doubt yourself and make you give up. People will say forget it and move on, but don’t. 1 Corinthians 7:10,11 tells you clearly about marriage. Other scriptures tell you also that Moses allowed divorce because he saw the people’s hearts were hard but Jesus says it was not what his Father intended. I believe in my heart that all marriages will be restored for those who believe that He is a rewarder to those who diligently seek Him. I am patiently waiting my husbands return as he has been living with another woman. We’ve been divorced 3 months now and he’s been living with her for almost 2. I was angry and hurt. When he spoke to me before the divorce he said things that made me angry even though I was praying for him to come back. Right then God showed me I am not ready yet because I wanted to jump down his throat but didn’t. Had he not left when he did I might have not held it in and really make matters worse. So I still have a lot of work to do in myself. That’s why I say when the time is right God will bring our Prodigals back. Please pray for the complete restoration of my marriage with Jeff, that he return home to me without anymore delays or excuses not to come home. God is able! My husband left me and moved in with another woman on July 13, 2018. I didn’t see it coming until that morning. I was devastated and couldn’t understand why God had allowed for him to leave me! After about a week of thinking my life was over, God began to change me! Showing me what He wasn’t please with in me! I began getting things right before God within me and praying for my husband to come home! I forgave him and the other woman! I began walking by faith and asking God for a word concerning my marriage. I heard a voice say don’t believe what you see in the natural! Walk by faith and not by sight! There were times I wanted to give up and doubt tried to set in! I prayed for my husband and the other woman salvation at least twice a day! God blessed and my husband came back home September 3, 2018 and God was working on him too! Speak those things that are not as though they were! Speak life and not death in your marriage! In all all that God’s will be done!
