Why Pray? We’ve answered this question before by giving The Reason We Must Pray but after receiving an email concerning this topic we decided to revisit the topic. Here is a note from Jessica: Why pray? By the dictionary definition to pray is to speak to a god (in my case, Jesus) either privately or in a religious ceremony in order to express love, admiration or thanks or in order to ask for something. In order to ask for something… But if our God Almighty is omniscient isn’t He supposed to know it all?
There are many in the body of Christ who are struggling financially with their businesses. Some are even considering down sizing and laying off their employees because of the financial situation that they are facing. We would like to submit the following scriptures to you for meditation, followed by a prayer for your business. The Lord will show you a way out of your current situation and make all of this work out for your good. Deuteronomy 8:18 (NLT) ~ “Remember the Lord your God. He is the one who gives you power to be successful, in order to fulfill the covenant he confirmed to your ancestors with an oath.” We would also suggest that you make some time to fast through this process so that you can clearly hear what the Lord has to say to you on this matter. (Matthew 17:21) “Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.” The following scriptures are related to honesty & how you treat your employees. As you fast and meditate through these you may discover some areas where you need to repent & make things right. We know that God does not reward disobedience so these scriptures will [...]

The most important thing to remember is that God answers prayers according to His word. Praying for protection is easy once you know what scriptures to pray and where to find them. You also need to identify the root of the problem. Why are you in need of protection? Is it that you are afraid of something or someone? Are you in need of protection from a spiritual attack? Is it that you are in need of protection to keep you safe from unemployment? Finding out the source will help you to determine what you need to pray. Usually we seek a hedge of protection when there is fear, a lack of feeling secure or intimidation. The following scriptures will help you to identify the root and you will see which bible verses you need to pray. Remember, God honors his word. So, all you need to do is pray the scriptures as they appear. Genesis 28:15 ~ “And, behold, I am with you, and will keep you in all places where you go, and will bring you again into this land; for I will not leave you, until I have done that which I have spoken to you about.” [...]

Life is a journey over uneven terrain, through changing seasons. Whether we encounter high or lows, the biblical Psalms stand ready to engage our emotions and clarify our thoughts. Joy Comes in the Morning: Psalm For All Seasons introduces us to three major genres of the Psalms – Praise * Lament * Thanksgiving- as keys to understanding the Psalms and using them in our lives and worship. Woven into the author’s discussion of three representative Psalms is his own testimony of how, even through trying seasons of life, joy comes in the morning. This books is a must read for those who enjoy the Psalms and are looking for a deeper exposition into the genres. Click on the cover of the book for more information.
